Jags sends us into heaven
On this day in 2009 another first for Everton. First Merseyside team to play at the New Wembley against Manchester United in the FA Cup Semi Final.
The game finishing 0-0 after extra time and went to penalties.
Most Evertonian's feared the worst not just with our record of penalties but particularly after Tim Cahill missed our first! Up to the plate stepped Tim Howard to do his duty and the it fell to Phil Jagielka to step up and score the decider.
The Jag duly obliged, Everton won 4-2 on pens aet, and sent the Toffee's into delerium and put Everton into the FA Cup Final.
What a day!

I have watched it quite a few times on You Tube.........it still brings tears to my eyes......and when Z Cars kicks in........well...........you all know the rest........so many great memories of that day........more visits next season me thinks............oh,was anyone else as pissed off as me at the coverage and lack of comment on MOTD after the game on Saturday.........disgrace...........

gave up on motd a while ago but i saw it on sat and you're right jim not a bloody word after the game from hansen and co!! was it really a year ago?! what a day!!
