On this day in 1991 Howard Kendall signed Peter Beardsley from the redshite for a fee of £1.1m. He became a firm favourite with the fans and scored 32 goals in 95 games, before signing for Newcastle in 1993 for £1.5m a fee Everton couldn't refuse for a 32 year old.
