On this day in 1982, Imre Varadi became an instant Everton hero when he scored the winner against the redshite in the 4th RD FA Cup at Goodison Park. 53,804 saw Gordon Lee's side take the lead with a Peter Eastoe goal after 17 minutes. Everton increased their lead to 2-0 through Varadi. The redshite scored a late consolation through Case.
