SEAMUS NEXT
Seamus Coleman started out as a right back. Then Moyesy converted him to a right winger. There is now talk that the Irishman may be reconverted to a right back again as cover for Tony Hibbert and eventually as his replacement.
He first really burst on to the first team scene when he tore the back out of Tottenham and Gareth Bale during a ten minutes substitution appearance. After that, Moyesy gradually introduced him as a winger. He struggled with it at first because his support positional play was erratic, but he improved as time went on and he is now a crowd favourite. Along the way he scored some important goals too.
There are some famous names from the past who converted from forward player to defender. Years ago, Everton legend Tommy Wright converted from a schoolboy and reserves inside forward to a great England international at right back - so much so, he was the best player on the field when England played Brazil in the 1970 World Cup. During the same period Terry Cooper started out as a left winger but dropped back to become a great player at left back.
The question now is where will Seamus settle?
