Bainsey Wouldn't Leave Would He?
Bookmark and Share

I haven't enjoyed writing this but reports in Sunday's and todays media have Leighton Baines going to either Bayern Munich or Man Utd.

Well I can't see it myself. Bainsey has been playing the best footy of his career this season and he seems to be a lad that is very content at Everton.

But you have to say that a move to Utd or Bayern could turn his head with the prospect of Champions League footy. It would take a very sizable bid to get him.

Maybe Bainsey will have a word with Bill to make sure he gets his mate Peanuts to stay.

i don't think he would go, he loves the club ,but kenwright has no vision in him, only pound coins dictate to kenwright, iwish they sold shite chairmans instead of brilliant left backs

I will be gutted if he goes to be honest, bu t if a team offers over 25 mil (not much to ask for the worlds best left back!) what can we do? suppose we should get be used to being a selling team by now

I reckon if Man U or Bayern are wanting him itll have to be a Player plus cash deal. Who can you henstly see us getting if that goes through. Ouldnt mind Welbeck/Hernandez or Muller/Kroos. Cant see it happening tho lol.

If the club has plans - lets hope they do, then lets see what happens when Woy names his Euro squad. I hope none of our players go - selfish I am but lets hope the board dig deep and have a plan which inlcudes retaining our best players. Yes all have a price but at what price of us getting any one close to Bainsey? SFA price, but I do agree the game is ran by accountants and every player has a price.. Lets hope we give our selves a good chance for next season.

I'd hate him to go, but I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to have a crack at playing at the highest level. I wouldn't begrudge him the chance to play Champions League, especially as he is trying to establish himself as England's no 1 left back. We cant offer him European footy unfortunately and at this stage of his career it is probably what he needs, and deserves because he is immense.

Can't see this happening. From all I've heard about Bainsey, he's well settled in his native North West and is unlikely to uproot his family and bring them up 'auf Deutschland'. This would make utd seem like a much more realistic possibility, but it also seems unlikely that Bainsey would want to provide cover for Evra at United. Sure, WE all know that he is the best LB in the league, but I think old whisky-nose would pick Evra in his team over Bainsey more often than not if he had them both at his disposal. Evra's more experienced at the very highest level. Unless Evra is due to leave utd in the summer? In which case, Im scared!

Baines hasnt been playing the best football of his career this season. I thought he was better last season. That may have been down to having Pienaar there. I cant see him leaving anyway especially not to Germany.

He's our best player. Such a credit to Everton. I hope he stays. Would take no less than 30mil.

It took Baines two seasons to settle in and then another season to form the partnership with Pienaar. Can't see us affording Pienaar and there's nobody else good enough on the left to go with Baines, so might as well sell him and start all over again.

None of us wants to see our mercurial left wing magician leave our beloved club, but some people need to face facts..There isn't a single player no matter who he is or how good he is who doesn't have his price..If it's the right thing for Leighton to do to further his career or the right thing for the club to do to stay alive and fund some much needed new blood then unfortunately that's just the way it is/has been/and always will be..

Cant see him going to Bayern. Alaba has been one of their best players in recent weeks and seems to have made the LB role his own. They told Barca to get lost with their rumoured interest in Alaba so dont think they will pay top money for another left back. Think this is just the press brining up an old story again.

Hope he is genuinely injured and the last few games out wasnt looking at preparing for life after Baines. The way we've played second half of season the whole squad must be excited about the team thats developing so I cant see him forcing a transfer AND he's got 3 years on his contract. I dont think Bayern or Utd will go to 20mill cash for a left back. Unless utd come in with a very attractive players plus cash deal? but who would we really want off them who they would be prepared to let go? Not gonna happen

Any manager worth his salt, and especially in Everton's hot seat should have cheaper, younger prospects lined up to replace his first team players. In our financial position David Moyes is paid to sell for top dollar and bring in superior replacements who will later, themselves be sold for top dollar.

Every player at every club has a price. Look no further than Ronaldo at Manchester United or Fabregas at Arsenal. Money is the only language that matters. Just the way it is. No point whining about it. It's never been any different.

I don't think hes been at his best this year. Certainly not a patch on last year, but he is pretty much irreplaceable. Best left back in world football.

He wouldn't be going to Bayern as he gets homesick when he's away with England nevermind raise a family in Germany. United is realistic but anytime we get a team together we start selling. What's the point of having a 20 goal a season striker like Jellie then sell a player who would provide at least half of them goals in Baines? I hope he stays...

Are you kidding Ste? Hes been our best player for 3 years. He's not just a left back!

If the right offer comes in from either of the teams mentioned then it would be stupid not to take it. By the right offer I mean in excess of £25m. As good as he is, we can overcome the loss of a left back.
