Moyes Hoping To Finally Cash In On Yobo
Bookmark and Share

Although Joseph Yobo hasnt played for Everton for over two seasons, the 31 year old is still on the Everton books.

Joey has a contract with the Toffees until 2014. The Nigeria captain has spent the last two seasons on loan at Fenerbahce were he has played 62 times.

Everton are looking for around £4m for the centre-half, and with other clubs from around Europe said to be interested, David Moyes may make use of any transfer funds generated this summer.

But this is Everton. There is still a possibility that Yobo could come back. Anoth thirty smething defender. Just what we need.

either sell or get him back and make him play for us. since when does a player just get to decide hes not coming back? we've had him on loan for 2 years. its like the tevez saga except yobo aint on holiday. whichever way you look at it were losing money so either get rid or bring him back. dont let him run out his contract on loan

Holding out for four million is foolish.....if we can get close to two million to help fund new signings we'd be mad not to take it.Even a million is better than letting his contract run down and letting him go for nothing.

He's had a big falling out with Moyes and that's a pity. That means he won't be coming back unless it's unavoidable for both club and player. At his age we won't get much for him. If he does go I'd like to see us use any spare money to help fund a return of Pienaar. Bear in mind that Pienaar is 30 also!

Wow talk about a bad penny! Should have sold him to Newcastle when we had the chance! The guy never did seem happy or grateful to be at the club! Who's stupid idea was it to keep tie him down till 2014? We've had him for the best part of 10 years and he's done nothing but moan about the club for as long as I've known him! Bad attitude that seems to worsen with age too!

The reason Yobo was loaned again was that having agreed the initial loan for 2010/11 there was a clause to buy at the end of it for £6milllion. Fenerbahce then tried to haggle over that price which we were having none of, but then they had a transfer embargo enforced while they were investigated for match fixing. The second loan was last minute. Fingers crossed it is sorted one way or the other this time around

4 mill? Nonsense, if we get 1mill we'll have done well. Just dont give him back to the Turks on loan with view to a permanent deal cos they just wont pay up. (Then again, WE can hardly complain about that)

Get what you can for him and save on his wages and get Adam Johnson in on loan for the year. 2 wingers of his and Pienaars ability and Jelli will be 20 goals + next season, easy.

We get a fee of around 1m per season for Yobo, similar to the deal we got when YAK went to Leicester.

We are not getting 4mill for a player who has been away from the club for so long. Try and get 1.5 and put the money towards Nuts/Naismith.

Its a shame things turned out the way they did with Joey. For a long time he was an important player for us but now we need to make sure we sell him this summer. He is not going to be that important player again and if we dont get a decent fee this summer he will be in the last year of his contract next summer and we'll get nothing for him.

It seems clear that Joseph will struggle to get into the starting lineup with the current crop of centre-backs. We should try and get as much for him as we can and wish him good luck. £4m for an experienced international like him seems reasonable and I would think there are a few teams out there who could do with a pacey defender of his stature!

How bad do you need to be at business to let a player of his age and experience out on loan for that long without certain clauses that guarantee a sale! Absolute Joke! We were short of defenders at one point lat season as well!

Wouldn't surprise me if we let him out on loan again and ran his contract down and let him go for free in 2014. *Rolls eyes*

Yobo what a legend. We don't need him anymore but if we was to sell a center half I would welcome him back.

If hes sold for the full 4mil that near enough funds the Pienaar move freeing up any funds that may come directly from the club for Dempsey and a younger right back maybe?
