Chelsea To Offer Big Money For Fellaini
Bookmark and Share

£20m is the price branded about by the media for a transfer fee to secure Leighton Baines. Now the London press are saying Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich is to continue his Summer spending spree with a £20m opening bid for Maroune Fellaini.

Felli is under contract at Everton until 2016 and just had his best season at the club. Everton bought the Belgium international for £15m in 2008, so £20m seems rather cheap for a 24 year old, who has his best years ahead and at a club who doesn't want to sell him.

If we keep Pienaar then Bainesy is vital. If we had to sell, then it has to be Fell, but can't believe the 20mill the rags suggest. Henderson cost 20mill, Hazard 32mill. Come on blues if we have to sell don't sell on the cheap.

After the banks have had their say on the money situation the decision as to who goes and who stays is with Moyesie. How many times does he have to say it publicly? Sometimes I despair of whether fans listen to the man or not. I'll take his judgment every time.

Baines will only go to Man U if Moyes has been offered whiskey noses job when he retires.

No need to guess. His contract has a release clause that a transfer can be considered if a bid of £26 million is received. After that it's up to discussions between the player and the club. After that point if Fellaini really wants to go there isn't anything the club can do to stop him. That's the way football works, so there's no need for speculation and guessing at fees.

Would break my heart to see Baines or Fellaini go-what is the point of selling two of the best players we have had for a very long time? We need their flair and class if we seriously want to have a go of breaking into the top four.

£30m at least for such a talent

The money from F.A. cup run, finnishing 7th in the prem, this year's season ticket money, Yobo fee and any surplus money of any small sales should keep the bank happy. SO NO NEED TO SELL ANY STARS. END OF STORY.

Cannot let him go at any cost!! He is the complete midfielder. Best I have seen in that position for years at Goodison!!

Baines cannot be allowed to leave for any price. However I would be happy with 25 million for Fellaini.

Opening bid of £28M then we can begin talking...

Hazard goes for 32 Mill, and Felli is being touted at 20 Mill --- someones having a laugh. Get a right winger, and this squad will get top 4 and champions league next year, then the money will start to roll in!!!!!!

Seem to remember Bill saying last year in one of the rags while the Arteta saga was going on ''You know the four players we don't dare sell, Jagielka, Baines, Fellaini and Howard''. Just hope the same applies this year. Fellaini would be a massive loss, does so much for the team without being too fancy, just keeps it simple and plays to his strengths.

Before Moyes our players attracted no speculation. It's a giveaway now that during every transfer window 2-3 are speculatively linked with the cheque-book charlies. Dave knows his stuff and and the lazy journo's don't. Great post Kay more facts in that than the back pages of all the tabloids put together, You'll never make a journalist ! LOL

Kay, Runcorn-Spot on. Empty column inches to fill with the pro-koppite press trying to destabilise the blues. We mustn't finish above them in the league, must we? Mongrels, all of them.

Oh no... Of course Chelsea want him, any team would be better with him in it, ditto Baines... Serious days these for BK, Moyes and the club, as the cherry-picking season hots up. I hope they've got the resources, financially and mental to resist all this. And get Ross Barkeley in the team and keep him there, so Felli can see the future. And Conor alongside Jelly, too, please.

Sadly, we might have to hear what the bank manager has to say. Hopefully, we keep both Fellaini and Baines and £20m is buttons for either of them. Best left back in the premiership and best midfielder...........we'd be crazy to let them go.

Moyes should be building the team around Fellani. I would rather get rid of Rodwell if we had to sell. If we get twenty million that is being offered we have to spend that much to replace him.

Cannot get to worked up over this. The papers will print any old shite at the moment. Once the Euros start it will turn to slagging Woy off and once England are knocked out it will then return to printing made up drivel.

Why are you even debating it? It stems from Jagielka's ridiculous statement when led by the press about Everton players (apparently a rule broken whereby players on intl duty are not asked club questions). This was then predictably picked up by a journo in the Mirror of all rags, John Cross. He's even quoted in these rumours. All he did was pluck out the £20m Jags mentioned as a fee. Lazy. The Mirror said weeks ago Fellaini was going for 15m then they up it to 20m on Jags say so. Really in the know that. They also reported Man Utd wanted Baines for £6m because of our financial situation! Then it was a done and dusted deal of 12m. Then no contact has even been made, then it's a reported 20m for Baines, again on Jags say so. All these journos are doing their annual let's sell Everton players trick and if there's no interest we'll create interest. We must be the only club in the league who's players cause such interest year on year. Please don't even justify these stories by even discussing them on threads. They're laughable.

He's not and will never be worth 35 mill to 40 mill. Just because we bought him for 15 doesn't mean his value doubled now that he's living up to expectation. I'd keep Baines over Fellaini. Baines can't be replaced.

I'm not so sure we would get big bunce... remember £10m Arteta and £3 Pienaar?? I know Pienaar was low on contract but both well under valued. We HAVE to keep Felli and Baines no matter what.

Calm down fella's. Nobody is going anywhere until the Moyesiah says so. If they do it will be for big bunce!!!

I hope BK tells them to get stuffed. The best potential we have had for years and all best attempts are being made to destroy the team.. Fekk we start shite most years and the mind games don't help every preseason. We paid high for Felli and we have brought him on. He's worth at least £35M at today's rates, but why sell, Felli, Pienaar, Jella, Gibbo, Hibbo, Jonny, Tim Howard, Tiny, Jags and Ross, Vellios we have a good squad which ended the season in fine form? Go tell the dodgy roubler to do one. This could be our best season coming up if we stick together.NB I'm doing night school in Anger Management as supporting EFC does drive me up the wall at times and I wonder what the now annual test of resolve is all about.. Whats Our Name?

You watch..we'll lose them both with 30 seconds to go before the transfer window shuts and the money will magically disappear before it opens again at Christmas. De Ja Vu anyone!

Is a good move and a good transfer to go for Felliani. The player is a good midfielder in this Summer.

Another season like the last one will put him into the £40M bracket, mark my words.

Its hard to put a figure on our best players, especially when we have no desire to sell, but £20m seems a ridiculously low amount for a player we gambled £15m on and have turned into one of the premier leagues best midfielders. I understand why Chelsea would be interested, but who knows if there is any substance to this story. Hopefully any teams hoping to make bids for our stars will do so early on and then leave us alone to focus on our pre-season preparation.
