Used to watch him in his early career while he was at Columbus Crew. Very hot prospect in his early 20s that ebbed & flowed...desire always seemed to be his main issue. He really came along in his late 20s at the Galaxy. Was inpressive leading up to South Africa only to be strangely forgotten at the World Cup. Could work if he can come to grips with the league. I believe that Pele is his Godfather also (I saw some mention of the "strangely named" player...). Edson is definitely named after Pele if not as prolific

Seen him on you tube and he looked really good for galaxy,at a german side now but he's big and strong and has fast feet,silky skills and scores a lot of headers!got to be worth a crack and hes usa's second best player.
