David Moyes has confirmed he has spoken to representatives of Kostas Manolas (Kos to his mates) from AEK Athens. Moyesy is hoping to bring the 20 year old to Everton in a £1m deal.
Everton have tracked the highly-rated centre-back for a few years, but admits he would not yet be ready for a regular starting place.
So if this happens, Everton will have a centre half for the future, a midfielder in Darron Gibson and Landon Donovan until the end of February.
Everton will still need to dig deep in the bag of tricks to get the centre fireworks David Moyes and the fans need. The transfer window closes on Tuesday.
Moyesy said: "He's a young boy we have looked at for a while, and we know quite a lot about him.
"We could do with a centre-back, although ideally someone who could go straight into the team, and he couldn't at the moment.
"But he's got potential, his representatives have been in, and we have spoken to the club."
