Kevin Doyle To Goodison?
Bookmark and Share

The bloke outside the Goodison Supper Bar was today having chips with onion gravy and he reckons that Everton are to put a late bid in foe Wolves striker Kevin Doyle (Doyley to his mates).

What a surprise that would be!

Doyley is no longer first choice at Molineux due to the impressive form of Steven Fletcher this season and has started only one of the last six Premier League matches.

The Republic of Ireland international has also scored just twice in the League this term and has been linked with a January move away. He was mooted as a target for Everton last summer, but Wolves boss Mick McCarthy insisted the 28-year-old was not for sale.

Everton were also rumoured to be interested in signing Doyle from Reading before the forward joined Wolves in a big-money deal in 2009.

Moyesy is keen to bring in a striker before Tuesday's transfer deadline and this just might be the one.

Watch this space.

Always been a fan of Doyle, he has a great attitude on the pitch as well as being a good solid finisher. Not having a great time of late which makes me a bit wary of the idea of spending 6m or so on him, I'd say 4m and 1m extra based on goals or appearances or something. Maybe he hasn't been getting in due to a few niggling injuries and stuff rather than being in bad form? ...I don't know, but either way I wish we would try to strike up a deal for Landon with the money we have, even with a return clause to see his career out back over there after he is 34/35 and has helped us have a few better seasons higher up the league and therefore helped us to earn a bit more money so we can challenge for better signings in the future.

I like Doyle but dont think he is the right choice at the moment and would take Jelavic as he seems to know the way to goal better.Ps Adam@2.. since when has Co.Wexford, Rep Ireland been part of the British Empire recently post 1921?!!!!

Gareth i agree about Doyle we shouldn't be going for him if he's struggling to get in Wolves first 11. However Moyes get it right for once??? Are you mad?? He gets it right 9 times out of 10 you odd ball!!!!!!!! IMWT

Im a big fan of Doyler! He is good BUT he will not solve our goal scoring problems as he DOSENT score goals!! If we had another prolific scorer up front then this deal would be one I would love to happen as he is a work horse, never stops running and holds the ball up with the best of them BUT he cant score to save his life!!!!!!!

Surely not? He is not even getting a game at a team worse than us and has scored less than Vellios yet we are willing to spend all our transfer fund on him? If the deal for Jelavic falls through why not try for Rodellega? Younger and would cost less. Come on Moyes, get it right for once.
