Naismith Rumours Rumble On As June Date Nears
Bookmark and Share

Rumours from North of the boarder are hotting up that Rangers player, Steven Naismith is about to leave the Glasgow club.

The Scottish International took a 75% cut in wages back in February as part of a cost cutting exercise to help the debt ridden club.

This agreement is due to end in June and with no new owners still at Rangers, the feeling is that some of the players will have to be sold.

Indeed one source is reporting that a four year deal is ready to be signed with a cut price £2m transfer fee and that Everton are the club who are favourites to sign the 25 year old.

No thanks. He could try Analfield though, they're looking for bargains.

Why is everybody obsessed with starting formations? All I ever hear or read is about 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1. The modern game is not as frigid as everybody seems to think. Formations are constantly chaging during the match. What formation do you call it when we have 11 men in the box defending a corner or when TC is in the opponents 6 yard box heading in a goal. Moyes has ALWAYS stated he plays to get the best of what we have got in terms of players. Arsenal scored 74 goals last term with so called 1 man up front. Oh and Arsenal are very defensive aren't they? Moyes can play 3-1.5-4-1.5 as far as i'm concerned, as long as we win - score goals and play a bit of football along the way, I don't give a shite what "formation" we play (sorry Gareth this is a bit of a rant) Anyway, Naismith, I'm not too keen on what little I've seen of him, but Jelly rates him very highly, so that's good enough for me.

Naisy is quality, fast,an eye for goal and can play up front or the midfield but hes a born n bred true blue dont think he will leave us,toffee's are a epl favourite of mine but hes better of where he is. You got Jelavic whos done you guy proud. So Mr Moyes pls leave our squad alone NAISYS A GER AND WE DONT DO WALKING AWAY so leave it at thAt lol

A cert, as Moyes has been an admirer for a long time, and before the mentioned Jelavic praise. Moyes says he wants to get the best out of Jelavic and Naismith will do that, he is very hard working, can play behind the stiker or on the right. Another possible legend from North of the Border into our ranks at 2m, an absolute steel purely due to Rangers plight.Remember those who doubted Jelavics ability in the Prem, not doing it now, same will be with this boy

I'm not sure where these rumours are coming from, having been following Rangers stories everyday. Nothing mentioned for 2 weeks. He is a fine player and for me more attacking than Fellani and Gibson, so not really like for like. It'd be theft if only £2m was paid for him. Talk about kicking a club when they're down! Cracking player and matches up well with Jelly

We got very lucky with Jelavic. Naismith is nowhere near as good and like Jimmy McFadden wouldn't hack it in England.

On the bench? The lad will play as a second striker behind Jelavic like the both have done at rangers. Fantastic signing.

Hes more of a classic no 10 type player isn't he? We could do with someone like that to take burden of timmy.Heard good things about him from a rangers fan at work plus jelavic rates him which is plenty good enough for me!

Plays off a main striker or in a wide midfield position, main strengths are off the ball with his runs and work rate....him and Jelavic were un-touchable when they played up front together...can see why Moyes wants to reunite the pair

Heard a lot of good things about him, if he isn't going to cost too much then maybe he is worth a punt.

Is he capable of playing in a five man midfield? Does Moyes think Felli and Gibson are sufficient in midfield if he does decide to go against his tried and trusted? Cannot see this happen solely because I cannot see him being happy on the bench
