Big Vic To Latics?
Bookmark and Share

As the Premiership vultures move in on Wigan's Victor Moses, it turns out that Victor Anichebe is being lined up as a replacement by Latics boss Roberto Martinez!

'Comedian' Dave Whelan laughed off Chelski's £4m bid for Moses who is entering the final year of his contract so Wigan are looking to cash in with Big Vic standing by as their new striker.

Big Vic has always struggled to hold down a first team place at Everton and has always appeared to be happy sitting on the bench. Now 24, he still has 3 years remaining on a very lucrative and surprising offer given to him by Moyesy.

Having made just 30 starts in four seasons and with just 8 goals in that period (6 goals last season) then Big Vic is hardly a prolific striker. Yet he has it all in his locker, strength, pace, power and he has a goal in him, it is just waiting to be unleashed.

We think that most Evertonians would say snap Wigan's hand off if they came along with an offer.

What do you think?

If we could convince Wigan to part with £4m for Victor then convince Spurs to give us Pienaar for the same £4m that would be the best piece of business in football ever. Effectively swapping Vic for Peanuts, unbelievable, praying it happens tho.

Never played in right position, always played out wide. When played up top i think he is a decent player. Scored important goals for us last season and still only 24! Shame 90% of crowd would sooner pack him off than back him. Would be a big hit at Wigan in my opinion.

Without sounding too harsh, sell him now. 2 million pounds is a reasonable offer and we can use that to finance the move for Pineaar.

i think the comments have been a bit harsh vic has the natural ability to roll defenders in the box in my eyes given his strength that where he should be played yet he has played most games out wide a ploy moyes favours with most young strickers i say give him one more season tim cahill is not as strong as he has been maybee vics strenth can help jelavic

How long can we wait fo his potential to come to the fore? £2m would be a reasonable bit of business to get the whining, lazy, benh warming wAste o space. Plus I believe we're paying him far too much. Sham though because he has some of the right qualities.

Very interesting comments below, not one in favour of keeping him, is that because the lack of faith in his abilities or the 4m banded around looks to tasty to turn down ?. I agree Vic is an enigma, power and strength, and we can see that he can finish a bit,but he is always on his arse complaining about defender treatment when he should be polaxing them !. Down to attitude i think, Steve Round said as much in that Vic could be a top player but needs to change his approach, obviously Moyes does not give out good contracts to young players unless he thinks he has something. That said if Wigan would offer 4m then thats Pienaar taken care of and hard to turn down.

Its a shame we've never seen the best of him. I'd agree and say sell for around 3mill. Got a feeling that will look like a bargain after a couple of years tho. Cant see him progressing much here with Jelly. A move to a club where he can be the main man upfront might be just what he needs. He was unlucky last year tho and he hast had a good run in the side for a while. Moyes obviously likes him. Cant see him going

I agree with Joel, Wigan impressed me near the end of the season and so surely a swap deal should be considered. However if we can get 4m that would be great business as well. We would be left with just have Jela and Vellios as strikers.. Mandzukic please Moyes?

I can see Big Vic and Wigan being a good fit! He is never going to be a first team regular at Everton and if we can get a sensible fee for him I think it will be a good deal for all involved. Whatever happens I wish Vic all the best!

Shame for this lad. He looked promising when he first came onto the scene, but he just doesn't seem to have improved, which is strange, because on paper he has all the right attributes. Perhaps he has a poor attitude? If Wigan are offering anything like reasonable money for him we should sell.

Rumour has it £4m is being quoted? I'd take that me, but heres one idea? if they are looking at him, why not offer him up and cash for Moses himself, he'd get game time at ourselves as opposed to other clubs looking at him? We should be in for these players ourselves but instead have to sit by crippled with financial burdens, however i do beleive that we are a better run club than most in this division!

Dave-Rumours are that they've offered six quid and a months supply of meat and potato pies.If true....its far too good an offer to turn down!

I've got to agree with the rest here, he's not good enough/consistent/fit often enough to be held in that high a regard, granted he has a lot about him but his failing's are mostly in his poor work rate and ability to keep fit. If Everton are going to move through these torrid financial times with a lean but effective squad this kind of player cannot be on a contract too good for the return received.

I think it should be a player plus cash deal.....we give Wigan one million quid to take the lazy useless wast of space.
