Owen Talk Serious

More Something Fishy
Tell me this can't be true. But we are hearing that the Michael Owen rumour may be a little more than rumour.
Owen is now a free agent and available on a free. He has been in talks with Stoke but an agreement couldn't be reached. David Moyes is trying desperately to get numbers into his squad and he is seriously looking at Owen situation.
If this is serious and happens, would you want Saint Michael in the blue shirt Of Everton?

No. We got rid of another old injury plagued player in Saha don't need another.

Ask any Newcastle fan would they have him back at any price? Beardsley and the others mentioned were a completely different proposition. Owen is in the same category as Fowler, Gerrard and Carragher. They have all been great players in their time but despising them is in our DNA. I bet you would understand Dunc pulling on a Red shirt. (Sorry Dunc just making a point).

Went to see the Specials at the Olympia on West Derby road two years ago. The lead singer Terry Hall said midway through set that the next song was for Micheal Owen. Song was called 'Do Nothing'

I don't care that Owen used to play for our friends across the park. Fact is he's too injury prone (we've just got rid of one sicknote) and will want astronomical wages and for how many games..?
No thanks, spend the money on Rhodes. He's quick, strong and knows where the goal is - think he could do a job in the Prem.

If Moyes decides to sign him we should trust his judgement. If he scores goals great, if not Moyes will offload before January or next summer.

Remember just before he signed for the Skunks a journo said Everton were supposedly preparing a bid for him on the never never and Owen said "I can't ever see myself as an Everton player," and this coming from a boyhood Evertonian! Guess what Michael? I can't ever see you as an Everton player either. Stick to shoveling your horse sh*t up.

A huge gamble if anything other than pay as you play. Just don't want to see him in a blue shirt. I've never liked the little squirt but if Moyes thinks he's worth going for I'll take his judgment any day.
Spectator, Crosby, 10:58 AM 15/08/2012

This arrogant little prick has turned us down on more than one occasion either because he wanted too much money or we weren't good enough for him so leave him where he is Moysie. If he were a Horse he would have been Dog meat a long time ago.
Bluester Blue, Chorley, 10:48 AM 15/08/2012

Absolutely agree Paul from Crosby. All football players are mercenaries these days and it's been a long time since he was the redshite's golden boy. If Moyes can get a good deal and Owen can get a few goals the CLUB will be better for it, and that's what we all want isn't it?
Tom, Douglas, 10:39 AM 15/08/2012

Surely the last thing we need is a proven goalscorer who grew up as a Blue and whose Dad played for the club...

Understand all the comments and reservations, but imagine the laugh on derby day, when he scores the late winner in front of kop.... Ha ha

No. We are better than that. Invest this man's silly wage demands in the nurturing of several undiscovered talented players. That's Moyesies strength and where our future lies. Sorry to see Jack go before we saw the best of him but hopefully it means we can now keep the best of what we have, and there's plenty of that. A team of up and coming talent built around Fellaini, Jags, Jelly and Bainesy should be our goal.

What a load of stupid comments from what can only be described as no brainers, the same was said when Peter Beardsley signed for us straight from the shite and what a star he turned out to be along with Watson Sheedy, these are the same idiots that would moan if Rooney came back, dont forget guys the club is bigger than the preverbial moaners that like to cry about everything, you all need to use the modecum of intelligence you where alledgedly born with and take your blinkers off.
Paul , Crosby, 8:20 PM 14/08/2012

I would rather sh*t in me hands an clap than see Owen in a blue shirt! FTRS!!!!!!!
Ted, Nogzy, 7:41 PM 14/08/2012

Why Not? if its a pay as you play deal its a good gamble...It worked for Beardo and Ablett. Too many of Blues are bitters who are more concerned about where the player has played over the success of the blues. Talking about upsetting the dressing room is laughable...He has never caused any problems where ever he has played. He is a top pro.
tb, Toxteth, 7:35 PM 14/08/2012

Really hope these messages find their way back to Moyes! Nobody at Everton wants this shameful mercenary at our great club! How in god's name would we be able to afford his over-inflated wages anyway???
Robbie Davies, Prenton, 7:17 PM 14/08/2012

100% yes!!!! He's better than big vic!!!! Who else will we have if jelly gets injured?
Jonesy, Bootle, 6:17 PM 14/08/2012

Nooooooooooooooooooo! Plenty of better players available before Owen, like my Mum!
GingerRav, Warrington, 5:47 PM 14/08/2012

I think pay per play would work. How much should he pay us?
Ronnie Razorblade, Sheffield, 5:20 PM 14/08/2012

Please No, not even a pay as you play deal. Would rather our big Greek get a game !
Stevo, Warrington, 5:08 PM 14/08/2012

Please don't even consider it. It would destroy the great team spirit at the club that all our new arrivals comment on
Ken, Rhyl, 5:07 PM 14/08/2012

Get him in, use him as a late sub, and hope that he can get amongst the goals on Derby Day !!. He has to be worth a season, even if it is from the bench. No real cost involved.
baz, warwick, 4:45 PM 14/08/2012
17
hope i don’t get canned for this but yes , come off the bench and get the last gasp goal could be the difference, between 7th again and top 4
MICHAEL, FRODSHAM, 4:30 PM 14/08/2012

even if he did sign, he's that much of a sick note we would never see him pull on the royal blue
jack, chester, 4:04 PM 14/08/2012

an electric blanket would be a cheaper option to warm the bench
rob morris, carlisle , 4:04 PM 14/08/2012

If he can get fit and score goals and doesnt get paid if he's out then yes, its a no brainer.
Huge goose, Broadmoor, 3:58 PM 14/08/2012

I wouldnt want him even if he was always fit and scored 20 in a season. What kind of prick plays for liverpool, utd and us

Another mank owen is a no go we have go 15mil to spend and we go for micheal owen abit of a joke dont ye think?
Tom, Fazack, 3:07 PM 14/08/2012

obviously rather other faces to arrive before michael owen... but why not? he's free, and not employed by anyone so surely we can get away with paying him a small wage... maybe a pay as you play contract like we did with saha? I rekn he could bang in a few goals. I wouldn't be unhappy if he came to us put it that way
d evans, north wales, 3:00 PM 14/08/2012

ONLY IF ITS PAY AS YOU PLAY CONTRACT! TO INJURY PRONE. BUT THATS WHY HE DIDNT SIGN FOR STOKE BECAUSE THATS WHAT THEY OFFERED HIM
mike, bootle, 2:57 PM 14/08/2012
7
Please God no!!! Why would we want a 32 year old, injury prone has-been who wants more money than he deserves??? His talks with Stoke broke down because he wanted too much money so why would we meet his demands so he can play less than ten games a season??? Would rather use some of the Rodwell money on Rhodes...
Pablo, Aigburth, 2:38 PM 14/08/2012

Could never get behind him. Past it, wages too high, injury prone, ex-United and will always be Red Shite! Please, please, please don't do it Mr Moyes.
Blue Imp, Northants, 2:36 PM 14/08/2012

If he can stay fit and get us ten+ goals then yes. I know it's a hard pill to swallow having the ex shite at goodison but if he starts to wear the beloved royal blue and scores some goals then bring it on. Hopefully he won't want a huge wage though as surely he's earn't enough in his career??? COYB
Loz, Dorset, 2:18 PM 14/08/2012

would make an excellent signing on a pay as you play deal......i personally would take him or put a cheeky bid into spurs for defoe. THUMBS UP FOR ADAM JOHNSON IF IT HAPPENS!!!
