Nace plays for Scotland Gary played in the 1-1 draw friendly against New Zealand last night. This was the warm up game before the Euro clash with Germany next month. Also playing was possible Everton target Jamie McFadden. (28/05/03) Jugement Day The
very likeable Steven Gerrard goes before an FA Disciplinary Tribuneral
today at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton to decide on the punishment for
his vicious tackle on Gary Naysmith in the Merseyside derby at Analfield
back in December. Not surprisingly, Gerrard was not sent off or even
booked for his two footed over the top lunge, the ref was the one and
only Graham Poll - who didn't see the incident! Two Goals in Two Games Nace has had a slow start this season having only started a handful of games, but he has done his chances no harm at all, by scoring from midfield in his last two games. The rest of the midfield players have only scored 3 goals between then all season. With Pembo still struggling with a calf injury, Nace looks set to continue on the left side of midfield against Blackburn. Even when Pembo is fit, Moyesy may keep faith with Nace, as the manager has said if you play well, you keep the shirt. There maybe some fans saying Nace hasn't played brilliantly, but the goal threat, may give him the deciding vote. (12/12/02) Nace Starts His Season With A Bang Gary Naysmith scored an absolute beauty for Scotland against Iceland in their 2-0 victory. He also had a hand in the first Scottish goal crossing for Christian Dailly to head home. This will certainly kick start Gary's season and could find himself in the starting line up against Arsenal next Saturday. (12/10/02) Nace withdraws from The Scottish Squad Gary Naysmith has withdrawn from the Scotland squad to face the Faroe Islands on Saturday. He has a slight anckle problem, which has caused him not to train with the Scotland squad. Scotland manager Berti Vogts hinted, if Scotland were playing stronger opposition he may well have played Naysmith. Berti says: "He has not been able to train at all with us. But it is not a big problem. We are not playing against the French, we are playing against the Faroes." So this means Gary should be fit to play against Southampton next Wednesday. (06/09/02) |
