| I'll Get You Goals All the lads are saying the right things as they prepare for the start of the season. If Pembo gets more games this season he promises more goals. Pembo said:"I did score regularly earlier in my career, but then if you look at my career I played consistently, week in week out - except for when I came to Everton. So hopefully I can stay injury free and if I get a run in the team perhaps I can score a few goals. That's the key really, playing games more regularly - which keeps you match fit as well."(16/07/03) Wales Beaten by USA Wales went down 2-0 in The States. Pembo played all but the last 10minutes of the game. He was substitued by Carl Robinson. Not Mark's night he got the Yellow card. (27/05/03) No Reunion with Bake Pembo is in the Wales squad to play in the friendly against the USA on Bank Holiday Monday. The game will be played in San Jose, Richard Gough's old stopping ground. Pembo was hoping for a reunion with former Evertonian Brian McBride, but alas, the USA have picked a young team for this friendly, so ruling out Bake. (24/05/03) Get Yer Passports Ready Pembo wants another taste of Europe and he defo believes we are close. Pembo said:"Everton haven't had European football for a few years and we are very close to it, there's 12 games to go and we have as much chance as anyone to achieve that. More good results along the way and we will progress. I've only had a short taste of Champions League when I was at Benfica, but it was a great experience. And I'd love to experience that again with Everton. I loved it then, I want that again. I've had a good career in the UK but I've never got near to European competition, that's why it's so important now for Everton to get there." (14/02/03) Hughes Selects Pembo for Wales After a storming performance against Man U reserves last week in front of the watching Moyesy, Mark Pembridge has proved his fitness for club and country and has been selected in the 28 man Welsh squad for the forthcoming friendly match against Bosnia in Cardiff on Feb 12th.(27/01/03) Pembo's Getting Better The fish suppers have got to stop Pembo. He has made some adustments to his diet and hopefully that will sort his calf problems. So he is now on sausage dinners. Moyesy said:“He has done some light jogging and he feels much better. We have done some checks on his blood and there are a couple of things we would look to alter. He will do some more running later this week in the build up with the hope of maybe being fit for the weekend, but it is very early in the week to be able to tell you or not." (26/11/02). Pembo Withdraws from Welsh Squad After all the arseing round wether Pembo plays for Wales or not he has had withdraw from the Welsh squad with a calf injury. At the moment he is touch and go for the visit of West Brom.(18/11/02) Pembo available for Blackburn game Pembo can now play for us against Blackburn. I'm not going into the reasons why he just can. Michael Dunford said:"We lobbied hard in the belief that Mark Pembridge should be allowed to play for Everton against Blackburn Rovers. It has taken a few days to sort out the situation but in the end common sense has prevailed."(05/11/02) Pembo may miss Blackburn Game The F.A.W.are to invoke the four-day FIFA ruling before their game against Azerbaijan next month. This means players have to in the Welsh headquarters on Sunday 17 November by 3pm. Because our game against Blackburn doesn't start until 3.00pm it could mean Pembo missing our game. David Moyes said :"I have tried to get in touch with Mark Hughes but without success so far.I know other clubs have brought forward their kick off times to ensure their players can play and we will have to see what we can do to sort the situation out. "I have spoken to Mark about it and he wants to play for Everton against Blackburn."(29/10/02) Pembo Man of The Match for Wales Mark Pembridge had a stormer of a game, when he bossed the game, playing in the centre of the midfield for Wales in a famous 2-1 victory over Italy. (17/10/02) I'm Fit and Raring to Go Mark Pembridge is delighted by the start he has made to the season and he is hoping that he has a more consistent season. We believe he was "made up" with the first Blue Kipper Star Man after his performance against Spurs. Pembo said:"Hopefully it's a new start for me now. Touch wood, I've had no problems with my calf since I last pulled it back in March, so I'm hoping that's behind me now. "It was nice to score against Spurs, but in the past I've often contributed goals from midfield. At Sheffield Wednesday, I always used to chip in with five to seven goals a season and in three seasons at Derby I was in double figures every year. "The manager likes players to get forward so if I can contribute from midfield all the better. It was great to score on the opening day, but I would have changed it for three points."(23/08/02) |
