| Going
Gezza
is on his way to Sheffield Utd on a 3 month loan.(29/08/03)
Staying
Gezza
is determined to stay at Goodison despite the rumours of him going
to Ipswich.
Gezza
said: "I haven't spoken to anyone about going back to Ipswich.Ipswich
is a great club and I enjoyed my time there but at the moment
all I am doing is concentrating on working hard for Everton. I
have a year left on my contract and due to Richard picking up
an injury over the summer I could possibly be handed a chance
at the start of the season."(22/07/03)
Gezza
In For Arsenal
Gezza
could be the surprise choice of David Moyes for the first game
of the season.
Moysey
said:"Gezza has worked incredibly hard pre-season
and is probably in as good a shape as we have seen him. He has
lost half-a-stone and is looking sharp. Richard Wright is still
touch-and-go for the start of the season so it is good to see
Paul pushing himself so hard."(19/07/03)
This
Time. Hopefully!
Joe,
Joe, Joe, Joe Royle has just let his top goalie, Andy Marshall
go on a free transfer as Ipswich are skint. The perils of the
drop! Anyway, he may come back for Gezza. Lets hope so, as it
will release some wages for Moyesy to play with. We'll be lucky
to get £250,000 for him. (16/05/03)
Off
to Ipswich
Gezza
has over come his injury problems and we now have 4 other fit
goalies so he sees his days numbered and should be off to join
his old mentor Joe Royle at Ipswich before the transfer deadline
tomorrow. Gezza played 99 times for the Blues, it is only a vicious
rumour that he let in 486 goals, he was a good shot stopper but
liked crosses about as much as Christopher Lee, he was out of
his depth in the Premiership and we wish him well at Ipswich,
get them promoted Gezza and we'll see you next season! (30/01/03)
Gezza
To Look For Another Club
Even
though he is back to fitness, Gezza knows his days are numbered
here at Everton.
Gezza
says: “The injury couldn’t have happened at a worse
time. It was going well at Ipswich. I was going to sign for another
month, but you can’t tell when these are going to happen. You
just have to deal with it. To be truthful, I think Richard is
the automatic choice, so maybe it’s the time to start looking
elsewhere, but we’ll see what happens. I’ve got another year left
on my contract after this season. All I can do is train hard and
see what happens." (26/01/03)
Gezza's
Knacked His Knee
Paul
Gerrard has ended his loan period at Ipswich early, as he has
dislocated his knee. He will have treatment back at Bellefield.
Joe
says: "It was literally in the closing moments of
the training session. Paul turned awkardly and the kneecap just
popped out. It's
obviously a very painful injury and is a blow to both Paul and
to us." (14/12/02)
I'll
Be Back
Gezza
doesn't expect the loan move to become a permanent one.
He
said: "At the moment it is just an opportunity for me to
be playing and I have not thought about making it a permanent
move. Joe is not looking at that as far as I know."(19/11/02)
On
Loan
Gezza
has gone to Ipswich on a months loan. He is expected to play against
Watford tomorrow. He is teaming up with old boss Joe Royle who
brought Gezza to Everton from Oldham for £1m in 1996.

Gezza
To Continue?
After
one of his best performances for years Gezza still expects to
play second fiddle to Richard Wright. He has even had praise from
Wrighty himself.
Wrighty
said: If
selected, I’m ready. But Paul Gerrard has played well in the games
he has been in. I
think in the last game against Middlesbrough, Gez had a very good
game, so it gives the manager a decision to make - which is what
he’s there for."
Gezza
said:"I’ve come in - I think I’ve done reasonably well in
the two games I’ve played, but it’s up to the manager whether
I play or not. Richard’s fit again now, so whether he comes straight
back into the side is the manager’s decision. Going
from number 1 to 35 is hard to take - I don’t care what anyone
says, it’s a blow. But the thing is you just have to get on with
it, get your head down and work hard in training.(20/09/02)
