Clarkey To Vale?

Peter has admitted that he would rather play in a lower division rather than in the Reserves for Everton this season.

Clarkey said: "Ideally I would like to play in Everton's first team, but that might not be the case. If I wasn't in the first-team picture at Everton, playing in the first team in a lower division is better than being in the reserves. To come back to Port Vale would be good. I think going out on loan is good for any young player."(15/07/03)

Wigan in For Clarkey

Wigan are rumoured to have made a £500,000 bid for Clarkey. Everton have said nothing, but this could be because Moysey is still on holiday. (24/06/03)

Everton Confirm Northampton Bid

Ian Ross today says: "We can confirm that we have received an enquiry from Northampton Town for Peter Clarke. But there is nothing further than that at the present moment." The Cobblers have just been relegated to division 3. Rather than go, we think after his performances for England U21's, there still maybe a future alongside Joey Yobo at the heart of the Everton defence. (16/06/03)

Blackpool In For Clarkey

As we sing it in the song F*** o** McMahon. The cheeky shit is saying that Clarkey could be on his way to Blackpool. As if Clarkey is going to go to a 2nd Division Club.

He said: "It is difficult because David wants to keep hold of Peter for pre-season games. They need bodies, they need him to join in their pre-season. He will play a few pre-season games for Everton and then we will take it from there, so it might be a last-minute decision with Peter as to whether he comes to the club. That's down to David and Peter."

Michael Dunford said :"We have had no contact about Peter Clarke from Blackpool, or anybody else" (14/06/03)

Clarkey was commanding at the heart of the England U21's defence last night. England won 2-0 against Serbia and Montenegro. Clarkey could have scored, when he had a shooting chance, but showed everyone what a good centre half he is by balooning it over the bar. (11/06/03)

Captain Clarkey

Peter Clake captained England's U21's to a 3-2 victory against Serbia/Montenegro at a sell-out 24,004 crowd at Hull last night. Goals from Ameobi 15m, Defoe 69m, Bent 88m, secured victory. (03/06/03)

England U21 Call Up

David Platt has named Peter Clarke in the England U21 squad for the games against Serbia (June 2) & Slovakia (June 10) this marks a season of progress for Clarkey, lets hope he does well & breaks into the first team soon. The future's bright - the future's Clake & Yobo! Good luck Peter (12/05/03)

Clarkey Recalled

Peter Clarke has been recalled by Everton after a very successful loan period at Port Vale. Clarkey's performances has helped secured Vales position in Div 2.

Port Vale manager Brian Horton said:"Clarkey's done a great job for us, he's one for the future. We wish him all the best."

A Towering Header

Clarkey scored a boss header in Vales 3-2 win against Northampton. This victory shuold keep Port Vale in Div 2.(13/04/03)

Loan Period Extended

Port Vale have managed to persuade Everton to extend Clarkeys loan period for anther month. This is a bit of a surprise with Pisto out and The Hibbert not yet fully fit.(26/03/03)

Extension

Port Vale Manager Brian Horton would like to extend his loan period, but with our injury problems this is unlikely. Horton heaped praise on Clarkey after his performance in the 1-0 win over Brentford

He said: "He has come from a Premier League side and has played for England under-20s, but he has no edge. He is a tremendous lad. You find people who want to go to the top and enjoy defending and he does."(19/03/03)

1st Team Football @ Port Vale

Port Vale 1st team against Swindon on Saturday for Clarkey. With all the Reserve games being called off lately, it will give him long over due match practice. The loan deal will be for a month.

Clarkey says: "I just want first team football, and the manager has told me I will get the chance,” (20/02/03)

Clarkey Plays for England u21's

Clarkey played the full 90 minutes for the England u21's in Italy last night. He had a steady game in a 1-0 defeat. The only controversial moment was when he was up ended by Sam dalla Bona (AC Milan formerly Chelsea), & Dalla Bona was booked. (12/02/03)

Coming Home

One good bit of info to come out of the AGM last night was that Moyesy wants to bring Clarkey back to Goodison next week.

Moyesy says: "I intend to bring them both back when their loan deals run out. I want to give our young players more experience, as we have done in letting Leon Osman go to Carlisle. I've been to see Peter and Keith at Blackpool and unless anything dramatic happens they will be coming back to Everton." (01/11/02)

England International

Clarkey came on as a sub to play the last 10 minutes for England's Under-21 side, which beat Slovakia 4-0 (13/10/02)

McMahon wants Clarke Permanently

Central defender Clarkey has played 8 games since joining Blackpool on loan at the start of the season. Manager ex-blue & redshite Steve McMahon would like to make it a permanent deal, but Everton would want big money to let him stay. We hope Everton bring him back after he has had his run in the 1st team, which has obviously helped him. With Everton's centre backs, Weir, Stubbs, & Unsworth no spring chickens, & Yobo only on loan until the end of the season, it seems mad to let Clarkey go on a permanent deal. (10/10/02)

Clarkey, who is on loan at Blackpool, became an instant hit with the Blackpool fans after scoring a double on his home debut during the 5-2 win over Luton Town. (14/08/02)
