Rodriguez To Goodison?
Bookmark and Share

Former Toffeeman and Burnley youth chief Martin Dobson expects 22 year old Jay Rodriguez to have an 'interesting summer'.

The England U21 striker who has scored 31 goals in 105 games for the Clarets has the likes of Everton, notloB and the Baggies West Bromwich Albion following his progress this season - no contest.Jay (or Rodders to his mates) is definitely on Moyesy's radar.

Dobbo said: 'In terms of ability, attitude and being a homegrown player he ticks all the boxes.'

'I look at Jay and think he has every chance of being very successful in the top division.'

'It's going to be an interesting summer for him.''He is the ace in the pack, the jewel in the crown. The supporters won't want him to go and neither will the manager, but if the opportunity to play in the top division presents itself now, can you deny the lad the chance?'

Could Rodders be on his way to Goodison?

Wont get Vossen, Stracq wont stay, moyes doesnt fancy Tollos and Parbet has a bad attitude. Cant see Burnley letting Jay Rod go for less than 7-8Mill tho. Maybe 5 upfront + add ons would be a good signing, plus his wages would be affordable. The lad can finish and he's better than our current back up strikers- could see him forming a nice partnership with Jelly.

Good future prospect but out of alpha 1 s list of fringe players Anichebe, Mc fadden and jose baxter to be sold shown the door all of the above have had more than enough time to prove thier worth and none really have time to go boys thanks for the memories but time to move aside

I suppose if he was cheap enough he might be worth a look but i suspect he will be priced daftly at something near £10 million! We have recently been connected to jeremy perbet who at £1 million seems the better bet for me. The trouble is that we have plenty of fringe strikers as it is - vellios, stracqualursi, baxter, mcaleny, anichebe, mcfadden. I would get shut of at least 2 of those and bring in jelle vossen myself - striker at genk who has a terrific goal scoring record, is young, big and hopefully not too expensive if we act quickly.
