Yes, the Glasgow Rangers striker is keen to sign and link up again with his old mucker Nikica Jelavic but talk of a medical being completed and signing by the weekend is incorrect.
Naismith's injury record is a cause for concern and Everton want to make sure that we do not sign a crock. Concerns linger following cruciate knee injuries in 2008 and again last season but after initial reports Everton are ready to push ahead with a full medical. Let's hope all goes well and we get some additional firepower.
The Scot is a free agent and will get a signing on fee plus a juicy salary so we need to get it right. However, if all goes well we may have our first signing in the first week of the window instead of the last day. Then it is on to getting Peanuts sorted.
