Everton Set To Miss Out On Colombian Striker
Bookmark and Share

Everton have broken off talks with Rodallega's agent as the Colombian wanted more than the Club were prepared to pay in wages.

The Wigan player only scored twice in 23 appearances, and although he was on a Bosman, Everton thought it best to leave well alone unless they lowered their wage and agent demands.

Fulham appear to favourites now to land the Colombian striker.

When I read this in the papers today I nearly spat out my coffee. I would have thought he was worth less than half those wages. Would have worked out around £3.5m per year and if he were to stay for three years £10+ million! Hardly the sort of money we can waste on a striker who only managed two goals last year! Can't blame the guy for trying it on. Looks like Fulham have taken him on. I doubt they have given him the full amount he was after.

Ste, Liverpool I agree with you. Any club would be stupid to give £70k a week to Rodallega. A striker who has a poor goalscoring record, is not worth that amount of money. To not sign him will be of no loss as we have Nikica Jelavic, aswell as Steven Naismith so I really don't think we need to look for another striker at this moment in time. I think we need to focus on others areas of the team, like in midfield and hopefully getting back Steven Pienarr. His talents would be wasted if he stayed at Tottenham and would be far more happier at Everton!

Clearly it's just a bargaining ploy by his agent to get the best wage possible by saying £70k and fulham are interested he's prob just trying to get clubs to up their offers by an extra £5k or a bigger signing on fee. Now kennys out the job they're aren't many managers stupid enough to pay £70k a week for an average player.

Don't need a striker anyway, we've got good young cover as a lead striker in Velios, and in terms of support striker we have Cahill, Naismith, Gueye. Make sure we keep everyone we have, and spend what little we have on Left Wing, Right Wing and Right Back and we will be doing fine.

I've never thought he was that good anyway. As for wage demands, I never believe any figures bandied around at times like this.

If the reported demands of 70k a week are true, I cant see Fulham or any other Prem club paying him that amount. He is just not good enough to justify those wages. No doubt a decent percentage will go to his agents. A decent enough squad player / regular if he got his finger out. However from what I have seen of him, he hasnt exactly set the world on fire. No thanks.
