Everton Look To Canadian For Fire Power
Bookmark and Share

With the Rodallega transfer talks looking like they are over, David Moyes would still like another forward in place before the transfer window closes on Friday 31st August.

He may look at Junior Hoilett. The Blackburn player is out of contract at Ewood Park, but as he is under the age of 23, and brought through the Blackburn academy, development costs of around £3m would have to be paid.

David (to his mates) has plenty of clubs to choose from including Sunderland, Borussia Moenchengladbach and big money spenders Q.P.R.

While i'd have been happy to see Hoilett sign, it seems we'll be beaten to it by Borussia MGB, if he wants to go to Germany there's not much we can do about it I suppose, would be nice to have got one of the free transfers that were available this summer (Kalou, Rodellega, Hoilett) but obviously we can't be held to ransom on wages and can't compete if another club can offer Champions League football. Just hope we sign Pienaar ASAP and I think us fans will calm down a bit!

According to sky sports news Rodallega has completed his move to fulham. Wouldn't have minded getting him on a free but not at the reported £70k a week, glad we told him to do one when he asked for that kind of money. As for Hoillet, looks a decent player but again according to sky sports news QPR are favourites to land him. Now I know Rodallega and Hoillet are not exacty world beaters but we cant afford to keep getting beat to transfer targets by the likes of QPR and Fulham, we'll end uo falling behind teams like that if they strengthen and we dont. That said, keep Felli and Baines the sign Pienaar and we will have a quality starting 11and some really good squad players, could just maybe do with one or two more squad players then

@Jonny Ash: But then Pace makes Theo Walcott from a mediocre player to a good player. And we do not need to start him week in week out - maybe as sub week in week out to try tired legs.

I agree Jonny. He is hit and miss and doesnt always get back and muck in defensively but im sure Moyesy will drill that into his game! Hoilett for me is the kind of player we need, someone with pace and a bit of unpredictability about em and i'd much rather us give him £45k a week on a 5 yr deal than sign someone like Rodallega and give them silly money (which we wouldnt anyway) on a 3 yr deal who would be a squad player at best and spend alot of his time on the bench! At least with Hoilett if he does come consistantly good he would be worth millions in the future and we would be able to sell at a profit IF we had to and get our money bk that weve invested in him!.

Hoilett's mint. We should grab him. Great player for a great club. It's not rocket science

I thought he'd be a good signing until I spoke to my mate who's a season ticket holder at Blackburn. Says he's hit and miss going forward and he's lazier than the Yak - always leaves his full back exposed. Deffo Piennar and Donovan if the price is right.

I agree with Jamie. Signing Hoilett, Pienaar and keeping hold of Bainsey would make me a very happy blue and would represent some shrewd long term investment and a good summer. The best way to fund the transfer and the wages would be to take whatever we can get for Yobo and sell Anichebe to Wigan. Here's my XI, strong, attacking side with plenty of quality and cover on the bench. Howard Hoilett Jags Jonny Bainsey Neville(c) Naismith Felli Gibson Peanuts Jelavic Subs - Mucha, Distin, Hibbo, Cahill, Coleman, Velios, Gueye, Osman, Barkley

Hmmm just wonder if this is Hoilett instead of rather than as well as Pienaar?
