Can this happen? Surely not. Michael Owen to Everton.

Saint Michael has been linked with a move to Everton. But to be fair he has been linked every time he becomes available.

He is a free agent over finishing three seasons with Man Utd. He scored 17 goals during his time at the Manchester club. But as usual his time has been blighted by injury.

He is 32 now and the question is will David Moyes take a gamble on the striker?

The Saint said: "If a good opportunity doesn't come my way then so be it. At this stage of my career it has to be something that I'm going to enjoy doing. Not being disrespectful when saying I wouldn't play in The Championship. Always said I wouldn't drop down the leagues like some have done.

"I know I can still bang them in at the top level. I proved that nearly every time I played for Manchester United. At 32, still got a few years in me."

Please tell me it isn't true. This guy is well shot, his record is appalling over the last several years. He would not have have sniffed at us in his prime- just like Ginola, Gascoigne and Mark Hughes. We don't need him, he's not up to the job, for God's sake WHY?

He is an injury prone leech still living off a reputation established at Liverpool. In the last 7 seasons he has only got into double figures once in a season when he reached 11 league goals in 2007/8. He turned us down when he had the oppportunity in 2009 as he would rather warm Uniteds bench. I would not touch him with a shitty stick

I'd have him tomorrow on a pay as you play deal. He pays us for the priviledge of playing in a blue shirt. There was a time when he may have been accepted. We don't need any more Ginola's.

Pay as you play, simples. If and if he signs, will we all still be bitter when he rattles one in the top corner against the shite in the last minute?? or any other side. Hope he joins to be honest.

He might be worth a punt on a pay per play basis. Evertime someone else pays up front - he pays the club for the privilege of sitting the the stands looking apologetic. He can afford it. ;-))

He's had plenty of chances to join us and always turned his nose up. Now he needs us more than we need him. And he can do one.

bring him in on a basic wage with incentives for pulling on a shirt (pay as you play) When he is fit he is brilliant and would do a good job with Jelly. His Old Man would be made up to see him in blue. He will cost nowt and that is the right price for us, as we do not want to be spending dollar that we havent got and going down the same pan as Rangers. All of you cake carrying Knob's who wanted Kenwright out should look to Scotland and see what has happened and consider where we would be if Blue Bill had been chucking the bank's money around. I don't think so, he's well passed it! He's more injured than he is fit to play these days, so no way should this be considered! We may not have much money to spend, but were not that hard up!!

A load of rubbish, all a rumour which was started by someone taking the mick on twitter by saying he was having a medical Saturday. Even the Echo and Liverpool Daily post ran with it and claimed there source was twitter!!!
