Lewis Holtby To Goodison?
Bookmark and Share

Reports this morning say that Everton are after German midfielder Lewis Holtby (Lewwy to his mates) as he has cast doubt on his future at Schalke and has confessed that he dreams of the chance to play in the Premier League.

Lewwy moved to Schalke from Alemannia Aachen in 2009 and has spent time on loan at VfL Bochum and Mainz during his three years at the club.

The 21-year old made 32 starts in all competitions last season for Schalke but, with only one year left on his contract, admitted he could leave the club soon.

Lewwy said: 'I am very happy in Schalke. But I would be lying if I said I will definitely extend my contract.'

'My dream was always the Premier League and someday I will make this step.'

Holtby has been capped twice by Germany. He could have played for England as his father is a Scouser.

Due to his father's influence, Lewwy is a massive Everton fan and could possibly sign for us, how good would that be?

Toffeeman Lewwy said: 'My father was born in England and was an Everton fan since the age of five. He immediately infected me with the Everton virus!'

'Since then I have been Everton fan and have always followed their games.'

Make this one happen Bill.

He was interviewed on Talksport a few weeks ago before the Euro's. His dad a massive blue and a scouser, but Lewis is an Arsenal fan and Arsehole Wenger has already been sniffing around. Lets hope dad has some clout.

There's nothing better than seeing a true blue playing for this club, even if he's German. Get yourself over here Lewis.

Would be quite a coup for Everton, but with only 1 year left on his contract alot of clubs will be interested. A great prospect and i would love see it happen

Quality player with lots of experience in a top league as well as caps for Germany. I can't see the Hoilett deal working out as other teams will out bid us on the wages front, but Lewis is a Toffee and might not be as mercenary. Fingers crossed for Lewis and Peanuts. That would probably be enough!

Surely this is old news by now? Lewis has stated that Arsenal would be his preferred choice anyway. Shame really, would love to see him at Goodison.
