Cahill and Donovan Back In January
Bookmark and Share

In his first press conference at the New York Red Bulls, Tim Cahill played the diplomat, but couldn't help himself saying 'Yes' to a return to Everton in the MLS close season from January to March.

Imagine Tim Cahill and Landon Donovan pulling on the new Everton kit in January 2013.

Tim said: "I'm totally focusing on the Red Bulls - getting fit, giving everything I can for the next three to four months.

"If something can work and fit to the training regime, because I've committed my future to the Red Bulls, and going on loan might not be the right thing for the football club... But if it works out that I can find the right happy medium to get the fitness and keep training and to play in certain games, then maybe yes.

"But I really think in the next three of four months we'll be able to tell closer to the end of the season."

I'd be happy seeing him back for a few months. Just to be used as a sub last 15 mins of the games.

Tim was a great servant but his legs were going, and he couldn't get in the team last season, so why go backwards, thanks for the memories tim.

I agree with you John. But I can't see how Cahill coming in for a few months on loan can hurt? We will have some cup games that can give players a rest, act as a 'back up' if needed and the most invaluable part just having him around the club again will pay for itself. The respect he gets and the players love of having him around the club and training will 'boost' the players at a time when a lot of points are up for grabs. This is a 'win' for EFC although I do agree 'on the field' he probably doesn't have as much to offer.

Why would we need Tim back at Everton, A great servant give his all for the cause, and scored some great goals But alas everything in football comes to an end and in Tim's case he has been running on empty for some time now. So thanks for the memories Tim, good luck to you and your family, you will always be welcome at Goodison in the future. " THAT'S FOOTBALL".
