Grant Hanley To Goodison?
Bookmark and Share

Slumped against Gwladys Street School railings, after a night in the rain, there we found Snouty this morning. He had been celebrating the news that he gave everyone weeks ago (that everyone knew) that Peanuts was coming back.

Wiping away the slobber he told us the latest hot goss.

Apparently, Moyesy has a plan in place should there be any movement outwards in the centre-back department. He has lined up Blackburn Rovers stopper Grant Hanley (Student to his mates).

Hanley established himself as first choice in the Blackburn first team last season under Steve Kean after Sam Allardyce gave him his debut. The 20 year old Scottish international has played 31 times for Rovers scoring once and has 3 caps.

Sounds plausible?

Assuming Jags, Johnny H and Distin are all staying then on the evidence we have already seen, Duffy is more than ready to step up to the plate. I thought he should have kept his place when he was bailing us out last winter. Confident, big ,strong and a goal threat...put the cheque book away Moysey.

Definite possibilty this due to the Rangers connection. I am sure that Moyes and Weir know all there is to know about this young man while he was developing there. He is only 20 and looks a real prospect. I would sign him in a heartbeat.

He's a no mark. Stay away.

To be fair Loz we signed Jags after he more or less relegated Sheffield Utd with his terrible hand ball on the final day against Wigan. So to suggest signing players from relegated clubs is a no go is just silly.

What are we looking at young centre backs for when Shane Duffy looked more than capable when he filled in last season? Looked like he could be a quality centre back given more game time and stewardship from the older lads.

Loz- agree generally but he looks solid. No non-sense centre half and a damn sight better than Scott Dann!

Never a fan of signing players involved in getting a team relegated but he could be one for the future if we work on him for a year or so?
