Is Phillips The Man?
Bookmark and Share

David Moyes is still hopeful that he will bring someone or maybe sometwo before the end of the transfer window. Our man at the local chippy said he knows who it is that Moyesy will bring in.

It took a couple of bottles of Thunderbird to prise the name from him but we got it in the end. The man in question is Matt Phillips from Blackpool. We have been linked with Matty back in May and more recently about four weeks ago. It was even suggested that maybe Seamus Coleman could go in the opposite direction.

David Moyes said: "I'm going to keep trying and looking around. I've got a similar squad to last season. We're certainly down on numbers a wee bit as far as squad numbers.

Brian from Chester -Word! The BU are only having a shout coz not only is Blue Bill staying put, but the majority of us loyal Royal Blue fans want that to be the case! COYB! With BK and Moysie at the helm, and a team as valiant, brave and talented as ours we're bound to get into Europe this season. F@*k me, if they play all season like they did on Monday night we'll win the fri88ing league!

This BU bollocks is really starting to piss me off now. They complain about absalutely everything without coming up with anything of substance on how to deal with our debt - apart from get a sugar daddy, of which there aren't any floating around right now. Stop moaning about what we CAN'T get and start supporting what we have got: A Chairman that quite frankly is as blue as me and you and won't see the club being run like Leeds, Portsmouth, Blackburn etc etc We have debt, we need to deal with it. He is... slowly In my view the best Manager we have ever had for what he has had to put up with and needs to cement that status with a tin pot and regular European footy - which he will The most honest, hard working group of players in the Premier League - with no shortage of talent between them The best fans in the country by a country mile! The Rodwell deal is a very good deal for Everton. He's played 14 games in 2 years of football and would have been hard pressed to get regular 1st team action with us, never mind City. Can we stop slagging everyone off from our club now and get behind them instead.

Of the £15 million we got for Jack at least £10 million should be made available to the gaffer to bring in 2 maybe 3 additions to boost the squad and give the boys a lift.

Could be true as Hollaway said he has been tapped up by a Premier club. We need width and he will come cheap, worth the gamble which is the type of player we seem to be in deals for and have mainly worked for us.

I'd throw in Seamus, Victor and 1£m lolly's worth for the guy. He's young, skilful, scores goals and can stand up to the best of them.

I think we should keep Coleman as Hibbert and Neville are coming to the end of their respective careers and Coleman has potential. He is rough around the edges but in my opinion worth the risk keeping him, money is tight and Philips and Coleman going on loan for a season as stated in previous message would be a good deal.

This would be a welcome addition! But I agree, no one should be writing off Seamus, he's going to be a stunning player in the next few seasons if he can stay injury free. Really rate him and would be upset to see him go. He's mustard. COYB

Rebus, I started writing a reply to Fat Mike, but got to wondering "what's the point?". BU are blinkered fantasists with no business accumen and the collective IQ of frogspawn. Don't waste your time with 'em. I also suspect them to be redscum.

Nah. He's a Charlie Adams on the wing, so steer clear.

Fat Mike #4. At what point in this window have we sold a top player? Get a grip!

Deano, Deeside you are forgetting Steven Naismith! Okay it was only one game against AEK Athens, but scoring a hat-trick has certainly showed his potential and what he is capable of doing. If he plays upfront with Jelavic and links up well with him and scores fairly well, then we have a good striking partnership of what would hopefully be 35 goals. So therefore I think it's wrong to say that we have no one after Jelavic, as we have Steven Naismith! It may take time for him to settle in at Everton, but you can't deny his potential and that he is a great addition to the squad.

He will end up at Southampton. They'll want £3million at least for him which we do not have. Southampton, Fulham and Wigan the other interested parties all have the funds.

Dont lets right of Seamus just yet, he had a bad injury last season and was never quite right after it. Peronally i love his direct approach scored 5 goals and terrorised defences when he was on song, he is still young and going to get better. I think he may surprise a few this season, and who is to say Matty is better, i remember Seamus getting rave reviews when he went to Blackpool on loan !

Not sure about Phillips? may get Donovan early, would love Dempsey but Fulham want 10M, so end off! Naismith could well be the answer though!!!

More good players going only to be replaced by shite ones. This is what Kenwright and his lack of funding gets us. Please people, see where the Blue Union are coming from here, we can't keep selling our top players. We MUST pull together and SUPPORT the team and OPPOSE stagnation!

Would be a good signing. Not sure if Seamus has it to be honest. We need a striker and right sided player because after Jelly there's no one. I think we are quite poor on the right too. Would love to have the money for Dempsey and Donovan. If you can't have dreams....

Sign Phillips and let Coleman go to Blackpool on loan would be a good deal in my eyes. I wouldn't do a swap where Coleman went permanently as I think we could make a RB out of him one day. Going out on loan to Blackpool for a season to play at RB regulary to learn the position more won't hurt him.
