More Something Fishy
With the Jack Rodwell transfer over and done with in the blink of an eye, it is important that Everton get some numbers back in the squad.
Since the season ended we have lost Jack, Tim, Royston and Strac. Coming in we have Nace.
We mentioned yesterday that David Moyes would be asking about the availability of some City players. Well it seem he has and there is serious talk that he may be able to get Adam Johnson on loan. Moyesy must have asked the question and it wouldn't be a surprise if Adam was part of the deal.
It would be brilliant if we could get hold of him. An exciting player who would be a great addition to the squad.

It's a bit disappointing if we can't sign him on a permanent basis, instead of a loan deal. But still, Adam Johnson would still be a great signing and a player we definitely need for our midfield. I hope this happens!

Great business if this happens! Get a RB and a few more attacking options and we are sorted! maybe Dempsey, Donovan, Walcott?

Mike, Waterloo - no, they don't need more English players. They have Hart, Richards, Lescott, Milner, Barry, Johnson and now Rodwell. They're pretty well stocked

Obviously somewhere along the lines of the rodwell transfer, Moyes must of enquired about the availability of Johnson and they have gave us first refusal, otherwise i dont see any reason why Moyes would of let Rodders go.
This one is a certain go'er, he will certainly add that extra width to the team that we require, he can assist, score goals, terror fullbacks, i think it is a perfect signing.
Hopefully see that M'baye Niang join aswell, he's a real talent and we know that by the teams who are and have been interested in him in the past ie Shitteh, Le Arse, AC etc... COYB! looking forward to the new season!

News Update is that Everton have 1st dibs on the Loan thingy! But there were rumours of a wage dispute (70k pw at City) Surely after releasing so many highly paid players we can afford this one!? On a personal note, I would still prefer Donovan on the right (be him 5 years his senior) Johnson has proven inconsistent over the years and I've heard hid attitude is a bit pooy! Donovan (who turned City down + said he'd only plays for us in England) is made for Everton and would inject stability on and off the pitch! Hopefully 3rd time lucky!

I think if this one was true the talk would be of a permanent move - what would be the point in City loaning him out? I personally think we might see Dempsey coming in. Steven Fletcher at Wolves would also be a good target.

Would love this, what a midfield we could have- Pienaar, Fellaini, Gibson, Johnson- Naismith supporting Jelly- with Ross and Cisco for back up. With Johnson on loan that would surely mean we still have a good few quid to spend. Plus we've got a some big earners off our books over the last couple of seasons.
Im really hoping there is a gonna be a big juicy surprising couple of weeks. Another class striker with pace and we could be right there for top 4 this season.

if city bought rodwell because they need more english players, why would they give us johnson? hope im wrong like but wont happen

Adam Johnson would be a great signing,play on the right side,and how about De Jong as the holding midfielder.He is reported to be shown the door at City, so we could get hom on the cheap.We could really do something this season.

I think there is a real good chance we will get him for a few reasons:
1, The Rodwell deal went through so quickly there must have been some positive communication between the two clubs unlike the Lescott affair.
2, Man City will not want to stregthen a team reputedly challenging for the Champions League places (sorry; chuckling as I write this sorry Liverpool fans)!!!
3, If your AJ's agent then surely you are saying to your client the options are an unstable club who have gone through more managers than Man City in recent years or Everton. A tough hard working well drilled side with a steady ownsership structure and well respected managment team. Guaranteed minutes on the pitch and a fan base who would appreciate AJ's talents.
Come on Everton get the deal done and put one over on that lot from across the park!!!

Also this 17yr old from Caen striker/winger we are looking at is interesting, hes coming over for a look around today or tomorrow .

Have always rated Johnson,if it comes about this would be a top recruit whatever the circumstances,Downing seemed to receive all the plaudits,but for me Adam Johnson the better of the two and a far better team player.Do the right thing and head down the East Lancs,you will discover a club that will grow on you and soon enough it will be mutual.

Great player, would love us to sign him even it was just on loan. Matt Phillips, and Lewis Holtby would be great as well, both are fast and skilfull and are only 21 years old. I think we all agree we also need a back up striker a lot of rumours flying about Owen on a pay as you play deal i would not mind that personaly IF it was pay as you play.

It would be great if we signed him, but not on a loan deal. We have enough money from the Jack Rodwell sale, so why do a loan deal when it would be better to sign him on a permanent basis. He would be a really good addition to the squad and I hope a deal can be sorted out.

would be great if he came to us but can not see it his wages for a start and have heard he is signing for the shite but would be nice to get one over on them wouldnt hold my breath though

in my opinion this lad is quality, get him asap moysey la, then a back up striker as vic and vellios dont quite cut it for me. Or clint dempsey? big talk. Age isnt on his side tho and fulham seem to be holding out for a large cut. Either way, if and when ross barkley steps up, he will be better than a signing. This coming season looks very interesting on the blue half of merseyside.

Wikipedia had Adam Johnson as r number 11 two weeks ago an rodwell was not even mentioned as an everton player it's been changed since! Wonder how they knew before everyone else, an shows how long it's been goin on for, me thinks Johnson an Owen are 100 percent Certs to sign, an a few more

Would love to have him, but there must be complications with his salary as surely we cant touch it. The Dark Side pay silly money, but i hope he doesnt end up there and make us pay. Alot depends on where we see Moyes play Naismith, behind the striker then i cant see the also mentioned Dempsey coming, if on the right, cant see Johnson coming, one or the other i think.

I would prefer we used the money to get phillips before he is over priced, moyes can develop him into a good asset for the club- he should have dones this for Moses last year. I still feel there will be another big sale yet, they always drop that on us just before the deadline so they have no time to buy and so the money has to go in the bank!! Do we really need to sell with all the extra money from the new sky deal?
