Charlie Adam To Goodison?
Bookmark and Share

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

The papers today are full of a sensational switch of Charlie Adam (slow, overpriced, dirty bastard to his mates) from the shite to Goodison.

Hopefully it is just to allow them to say that he would be the first to cross the Park in our direction for 20 years since Gary Ablett in 1992.

Brendan Rogers Boys are squad heavy and looking to off-load and Charlie is on their hit list. They splashed £9m on him last summer but even the bargain price of £5m looks way over the odds.

However, he is a Jock and Moyesy's brother is his agent and we are short in midfield....

Would you have Charlie Adam?

NO. Just an average pub player. Leave well alone.

Too much like the midfielders we already have and over priced to be squad cover in our financial state.

I hope not. He's too slow, a diver and dirty. I would consider jibin it rather than watch that. Moyes bro his agent? Maybe its nepotism

I agree every team needs someone to break the opposition up and play a nice pass or even 'The Easy Ball' but isn't that why we have Gibson and Fellaini in midfield? Both these are quite gifted in regards to being able to sit if needed or break forward and subsequently, whoever is the sitting midfielder would do that job. To even consider spending 5m is a joke when we have more that sufficient cover in that department. Once Barkley, Naismaith and even Junior get more playing time, we will rarely need to have Fellaini pushed up front unless were chasing the game and therefore he will be the lynchpin in breaking up the opposition. Moyes don't do it please............Rant over!

We dont want their cast offs and more importantly he is not a player who can improve the squad. We have to find a striker and winger. Johnson on loan from Man City is a no brainer for me

Graham, how can you say Neville is a weak link? Theres a reason why he keeps Hibbert out the team. I have never seen a player as nerve less as Phil. Remember the end of last season against Newcastle, he dominated them.

I think i might be tempted to burn my season ticket if ever I thought we'd entertain him. I think Gareth Bale had a point.

Interesting post as so many responders. Would i have him, yes in a heartbeat and i will tell you why. The bad bits - he is a nasty bast**d, some of his tackles are terrible and can pick up a lot of cards, poor season across the park. The good bits - every team need his type of player, consider this, when Joe Royle was in charge he employed "the dogs of war", and it worked, you need a dog to do the ball winning in midfield, stops the opposition from playing, and then they pass it (Adams passes very well !) and then let then let your artisans use their silky skills. Some say we have enough CENTRAL ! midfielders already, i disagree strongly, Felli, Gibson, and then who ? Osman is a clever player but gets knocked off the ball easily, Junior and Barkley could be future starts BUT there still kids with enormous potential, after that your looking at makeshifts ie Neville and Heitinga in midfield, are they better than Adams ? Adams was class at Blackpool, you may say in a poor team, but they played well in the middle because of him, remember the 5-3 game at Goodison ? he held his own Liverpool just made him a bad player, Moyes could bring him back. The asking price has to be right, 5m too much, but i think the Dark Side will move him on, and due to our Scottish connections Adam could "feel the power of the force" ! across the park

It's nothing to do with him playing for the shite. He is crap, simple as that. He had one good season at Blackpool. Before that he was crap at Rangers and now he is even worse at the shite .NO NO NO NO please NO.

We've got a fairly good looking team (if you ignore Neville maybe) and buying someone whose teeth resemble stone henge would greatly deteriate that fact. Nil Pwaa... i mean kippers

Absolutely no! This should be given no thought whatsoever, as we should be turning our attention to completing the deal for Kevin Mirallas. After him, we should then sign Adam Johnson. Okay so it may be a loan deal instead of being a permanent one, but he would be a great addition to our squad. As for Charlie Adam, £5 million spent on him would be a complete waste of money!

Please God no! Think Rex summed it up for me. We don't want or need him. Please don't waste the little bit of money we have. We need a right winger & a striker.

How can we justify spending almost half our transfer kitty on ANOTHER centre mid when we're desperate for wingers? If this happens, I'll be quite perturbed...

NO! One of my bros is a RS season ticket holder and not one to complain about players - but he has watched him all last season and says he's not a team player, too slow and can't tackle. If he's not good enough for them he's not good enough for us.

try to remember how good he looked for Blackpool. it wasnt just Liverpool sniffing around him after that season. Kenny Dalg made that entire team look terrible so maybe with a top manager like Moyesy we did sign him. just looking on the bright side incase this goes through. if i had a choice right now though. hell fucking no!

Short in midfield? We can play any of Fellaini, Gibson, Osman, Baxter, Junior, Piennar, Neville, Heitinga in the 2 centre mid spots - and they're all better than Adam.

I remember some comments made about Kevin Sheedy, I wanted him when he was at Blackpool. He would add the bite that our midfield has lacked since Reidy.

No thanks, he has been exposed in the Shite's team as average after being Blackpool's stand out player. Mirrilas, Fellaini, Gibson, Pienaar, Naismith behind Jelavic does it for me. No room for him and £5mil could be better spent elsewhere
Bri, Maghull, 12:57 PM 16/08/2012

Just coz he plays for the RS doesnt mean we shouldn't buy him. If they are top heavy in centre mid and are willing to let him go for £5m, lets ignore our principles and sign him. Rodwell and Yobo out with Pienaar, Adam and Mirallis all in for roughly the same money, is good business an defo stengthens our squad.

Gary Abblett was a classy professional. He was never disrepectful to us when he played for that shower when he played for them, and thats why he was accepted as an Everton player (not by everyone immediately, but that changed quickly). Adam is a scum bag. I'll never forget the way he chewed off the refs ear in the Goodison derby last year. He's a bell end beyond comprehension. Up there with Stevie Me. Dont waste £5 million on him Moyes.
