We talked about this fella at the beginning of August. Bryan Oviedo is now thought to be the subject of a bid from Everton.

The Costa Rica international is a left side defender who currently playing for FC Copenhagen and is available for the right money.

Dodo, to his mates, will want a fresh challenge after his side were beaten by Lille in the final Champions League qualifying round.

He's 22 what's Baines? 28? Think this one's more for the future. Very attacking, seem's Moyes has at last decided best form of defence is attack :)

Moyes is currently in London at a work permit hearing for him, according to the official site. Also according to one of the media staff on the official twitter we are looking at another midfielder as well. I think as Mike, Goodison said this lad will be coming in to provide quality cover and squad rotation, give Bainesy a rest in cup games and stuff. Garbutt is very highly thought of an will go on to play a lot for our first team, but he is only 19 and I think once Oviedo signs Garbutt will go out on loan, probably somewhere in league one to get some games and experience under his belt.

Nothing wrong with a bit of competition for places. It'll make a nice change.

BBC saying he's having a medical. Seems a good quality player who wants to be at Goodison so that must be a bonus. He'll keep Bains and Pienaar looking over their shoulder and I guess could also push Feli Os and Gibbo if he's as good as they reckon.

This is a good deal. I don't believe its anything to do with Baines going but much more about competition for places and injury cover or AFCON cover when Peanuts is gone. If the lad really does force his way into the team then he must be bloody good and what a lovely problem to have.

DO NOT get this signing, according to Sky we have agreed a fee, we are well covered down the left, if anything we need more cover down the right. This fella wont get in ahead of Baines or Pienaar and we have cover for them, even Neville and Distin and play LB and Gueye is coming on nicely on the left wing as well.

5mill is the figure quoted. Must be decent, Moyes wouldnt splash that kind of cash for him to sit on the bench. I'd be happy for this to come off- provides cover for Baines and Pienaar firstly and provides an extra option if we want to move Pienaar elsewhere with a really solid left side. See we've been linked with Nzonzi from Blackburn, was not impressed with him last season- but then the whole Blackburn team was shite. "After an ambitious attempt to sign Essien" that would be sweet. Looks like Charlie Adam is off to Sunderland- bullet dodged there

Mike - Goodison - Agreed. For the first time we might actually have more than 1 decent player to play in each position on the left! He's quite versatile I understand also playing in CM.

Backup for Baines would be sensible. Injuries do happen. I don't think this move signals an exit for Baines, just a sensible strengthening of the squad. If he is good enough he will get games, possibly in midfield and off the bench. Copenhagen are a good team, but they are not in the CL now and his contract is running down so they will want to cash in and I'm sure Bryan would want to have a crack at the Prem!

Its just been on sky sports saying copenhagen have confirmed that we've put a bid in of around 5 mil , could be a good squad signing

Dont read too much into the Baines situation with this one, he can play anywhere on the left. This will be for squad rotation, to give players a rest and if Baines was to get injured (hopefully not) im sure you would not want Garbutt up again City, United, Chelsea etc.

Dont quite understand this one , cant see the lad wanting to come to deputise for Baines or Pineaar , must be something going on with Baines if not this month then maybe Jan . I thought young Garbutt ws highely thought of, perhaps not.
