Moyes Looks At Out Of Contract Players
Bookmark and Share

David Moyes has said he is now looking for 'out of contract' players to bring into the club.

There are still some decent players out of contract. The problem is that most of them are over the hill or injury prone.

Michael Ballack, Guti, Manny Fernandes are just some of the names flying around, but one who David Moyes could go for is Owen Hargreaves.

He of Bayern Munich, Man Utd and Man City. Ow (to his mates) has a history of injuries, but seemed to be lining up a deal with Lille, but this has fell through.

With Gibbo still out for a few weeks and Barkley away on loan, the 31 year old could be the one Moyesy could go for on a pay as play deal.

What do you think?

Ste (Mr. Wet Weekend to his mates) should lighten up.

Fernandes, or Manic Manny to his mates! (th@ 1 was just 4 U ste #17 xD) did go missing at times and frustrated the snot out of me! But his brilliance did make up for it "At The Time"! Sadly the guy's a turbo stroker (hence the Manic) and would irritate the Bjesus out the rest of the team with his Nonchalance! Would not put him alone in a room with Johnny that's for sure!

Fernandes was, inconsistently brilliant/anonymous an "occasional" Pienaar, and saw greener grass. Crapped in his own strawberry patch. Ballack ? hmm......interesting, but be honest....he took too long to settle at chelski.... and will probably want hefty wages.....sorry Mike that's a no. Hargreaves, he'd be My pick. Yes injury PLAGUED, but a good dressing room influence. IF Paid as played . That'd be a yep for Me. My feelings are that, although he'll have a shufty at the out of contract brigade Davey, will probably NOT bring in anyone. Hargreaves would be closest to what we actually need most.

When fit he is easily one of the best central midfielders around. Shame about the injurys but id definetly give him a 'pay as you play' contract. He has world cup, champions league, european championship experience. Snap him up i say!!

Do you really have to persist with this (to his mates) nonsense with every single player linked It wasnt funny the first time and it is certainly not now. Its tedious in the extreme. Anyway rant over Could be a good move on a short term contract

Hargreaves is a quality player and Moyes should sign him up quick on a pay as you play contract.

IF Fernandes was free then i think we'd of gone in for him but he isnt, so forget about that one!. And by the looks of things, He's after Hitzlsperger as he's trained with us this week.

Manny's not out of contract is he?? Guti or Ballack though? Hell yeh I think we'd be good for a big name... Hargreaves if his legs are good could do a job for us of course, look forward to seeing Gibbo back though, and if he has extra competition for his place then all the better

by the time Moysie will deem him fit enough to play in the prem, I am Sure Gibson will be back, so probably a waste of time and money

Why waste time going after a free who we will only have for 1 or 2 seasons max and will only start no more than 8 games and is one of the most injury prone players of recent times. If Manny Fernandes is available on a free then sign him up, showed potential when he was last here on loan and will have matured even more now both as a player and a person. Got to be worth a go, right?

Manny Fernandes could do a decent job, but only on "Pay As You Play"

Injuries are the only issue as he is a cracking player when fit and would deffo do a job for us.

Dear God no!!!!!!!!!!!!! At a time when we seem to be going forward in the transfer market this would be a backward step even on a pay as you play deal, vastly overrated player even when fit

Id prefer to see Manny Fernandes return tbh. Guti or Ballack would bring experience and a presence to the club, that the rest of the squad could thrive from.

I think the last two games show how desperately lacking we are in the centre of the park. A touch of quality (albeit over the hill/ injury prone) would do us the world of good.

To be honest even if he isn't fit and is always injured I'd still play him over Phil Neville!!

If he can steer clear of injuries, an ideal as cover for the defensive midfield birth
