
Everton signed Apostolos Vellios from Greek side Iraklis Thessaloniki in January 2011.
He joined Everton for a nominal fee in a deal which will keep him at the Club until 2014.
Hailing from the northern Greek city, the 6"3 forward was a member of Saloniki's youth academy from the age of five and progressed through their ranks to their first team.
Vellios started his professional career at Iraklis in 2008. In two and a half seasons he played 22 league games scoring 4 goals. The tall striker has has been capped 14 times for the Greek U-19 team and has scoring 7 goals. He was praised by reserve team coach, Alan Stubbs.
Apostolos made his debut for the first team when he came on as a second half substitute is the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa in April 2011.
