in for Nyarko
French
Club, Caen are keen on taking Alex to France. The club has just
been promoted to the French Premiership. Talks are planned and
hopefully he will sign. (02/07/04)
Permit
Denied
Alex
Nyarko won't play another game for the Toffees, after his work
permit was denied. There is no
right of appeal. So unless he finds
another club, which is doubtful, we could end up paying his wages
for the rest of his contract. One year! (16/06/04)
New
Permit
Even
though Alex has still got 16 months on his contract his work permit
runs out this June. He is hopeful that everything will be sorted
for him to be still playing for Everton next season. He is happy
the way it is going on the playing side as well.
Alex
says: "My work permit finishes in June and I still
have another year left on my contract. I don't know what will
happen but I hope to be an Everton player as I am today.
“It’s
nice to be back. I’m happy. I’m happy with the people around,
the fans, the players, the coaches and I feel happy in my life.
I feel happier now compared to three years ago. Things have changed
a lot, the management and all that. But as long as you do what
you’re doing properly that’s more important.(15/03/04).
Injury
Woe For Alex
Alex Nyarko
who returned with good effect, against Brum last weekend, has
been told by the Everton medical boys that he has chipped a bone
in his foot. Nyarko will now have to sit out this weekend's FA
Cup tie versus Norwich, and it will be unlikely that we will see
the Ghanaian International for at least a few weeks.
Moyesy
says: "Alex has been to see the specialist, he's
chipped a little bit of bone in his foot, so it looks as though
he's going to be out for a couple of weeks. It's disappointing,
because he put in a good performance against Birmingham and we
were pleased with him. It's unfortunate to lose him, but that's
what happens in football." (01/01/04)
I
Feel Good, I Knew That I Would Now !
Alex
Nyarko is telling the fans that he is happier than ever, since
his return to Goodison Park. Moyesy he tells us out helped him
no end, as he tries to re establish his career at the Blues.Since
walking out on the Blues after the well publicised incident at
Highbury a few seasons ago Alex has enjoyed loan spells at P.S.G.
and Monaco, but soon realised that there is no place like Goodison,
oh and by the way Walter had left in the mean time.
Alex
says: "Since I’ve been back I’ve tried to settle
in and train hard and concentrate on been part of the group, which
is very important. I feel much better each day. I feel good, I
feel positive and I feel that maybe I should have been like that
for the last two years. I was away for two years and then I came
back. I think this is my club. This is where I belong and I want
to stay here. In those two years I was thinking and I decided
that I had to take the decision myself to come back here and join
the group and train. It took me time but I realised that this
is what I had to do, I had to do this myself and not anyone else.
The ball is in my court to stay in the group and I enjoy the group.
The fans supported me and it was nice. You feel blessed and it
makes you feel that you really want to do something. Before my
first game back people were coming up to me in the dressing room
saying,‘come on Alex, it’s not new for you, you’ve done it before,
you know you can do it, play your own game and enjoy it. I tried
to enjoy the game and adapt, I wasn’t particularly flash. It was
good. I knew I had to come back and play for the reserves for
a while so I could get fit. I respect David Moyes and the other
coaches,” he said. They are helping me a lot. They are telling
me what to do and what not to do. You are learning in football
every day, like life. Sometimes you get into the team and then
other times you might be on the bench and others you may not be
in the squad, but I’m adapting. This is the ninth year of my career
and this is a new thing for me. I’m learning and it’s very good."

Standing
Ovation
Alex
Nyarko certainly won back a few of the dissenters last night,
with a disciplined and tidy performance in the middle of the park,
in Everton's Carling Cup win against Charlton. The crowd gave him
a standing ovation as he was subsituted near the end of his first
ninety minutes back in the first team in over two years. With our
midfield not really firing on all cylinders this season, maybe
we might just yet see the best of Alex Nyarko, if Moysey gives
him a run in the side.
Alan
Irvine says: "Alex did very well. It was terrific
obviously for him to get back in and terrific for him to perform
in the way that he did.We weren't here when what happened happened,
so there are certainly no grudges to bear as far as we're concerned. It's
taken him a little while to get used to the way that we do things. It's
taken him a wee while to get back into playing in this country
again, but his performances in reserve games recently and in training
have been very good. We've been talking about putting him in for
a few weeks now and just felt that it was a good opportunity.
He's certainly taken his chance." (30/10/03)
He's
Back?
Well
this one will be interesting! Alex Nyarko, who swore never to
play for Everton again, has forced his way back into contention
and into the squad for tomorrow night's Carling Cup game at Goodison
agaist Charlton. The Invisible Man has done it on merit and Alan
Irvine was quick to point this out plus the fact that he and Moyesy
have no grudge to bear with Alex as it all happened prior the
the new Management arriving.
Alan
Irvine says: 'Alex is very much in our thoughs just now,
he's playing very well, put in some terrific performances and
is very close to being selected. If he pulls that shirt on tomorrow
night then everyone needs to be right behind him if we want to
get the best out of our team and progress to the next round, prove
to him who was right! (28/10/03)
Credit
Were Credit's Due
After
the rumours that the Ghanaian International might be on his way
out of Goodison fizzled away, Nyarko to his credit has knuckled
down and been putting in some excellent performances in Everton's
second string. Two men who sing his praises very highly are Rezzy
boss Andy Holden, and First Team Coach Alan Irvine.
Alan
Irvine says: "Alex played very well in the middle
of the park.He passed the ball well, intercepted a lot of moves
and he is doing better and better all the time. Hopefully he will
continue to do that.On that level of performance on Tuesday, people
are certainly taking notice." (09/10/03)
Andy Holden says: "I thought Alex Nyarko
in midfield played some great balls through against United,he
was unlucky not to score. On the night he probably deserved a
goal for all the work and great passes he put in." (09/10/03)
In
To The Lions Den
A
loan deal looks on the cards for Everton's want away midfielder
Alex Nyarko.Scouts from First Division club Millwall, were on
hand at Everton's reserve game on Tuesday evening , were the Ghanain
scored to cap an impressive performance.Nyarko still has two years
left on his contract at Goodison, as is rumoured to be one of
the higher earners at the club, so Everton will be keen to wrap
up a deal that will see their wage bill slashed.Moysey has made
no secret that Nyarko is right down the pecking order at Goodison, and
it looks like his days at the club are numbered. The interest from
Millwall stems from the fact that Mark Mc Ghee's number two is
none other than Archie Knox, who has seen the player at close hand.
Part of the proposed move is to send with Nyarko as many dummies
and rattles that he can fit into his kitbag for use in the very
near future.(18/09/03)
Moyesy
Is Not Happy
Moyesy
wants to offload Alex as soon as possible.
Moyes
says: "We
want Alex back now. He has been out there for over two weeks and
I can't understand his reasons for being out there as long as
that. He has got to come back to the club. We were told he was
going out there to meet the people at the club and spend a few
days looking around, not two and a half weeks. He is coming back
with a view to trying and getting him out elsewhere." (19/08/03)
Decision
Time
Alex
Nyarko will make his decision over the next day or so, on whether
he will go on loan to China until December, when he will be off
the Everton payroll. He has had a look around 2 unnamed clubs.
We await his 'yes' with baited breath. (18/08/03)
Nyarko
Off To China
Alex
Nyarko's stop start career has stopped again. When he wasn't at
Leigh RMI yesterday,
some wags thought he may have gone awol again, but no he's been
given permission to speak to some un-named Chinese clubs.
Ian
Ross says: "We have given Alex Nyarko permission
to speak to a couple of clubs in China. He has flown out to the
Far East to meet with representatives. We expect to learn within
2-3 days whether or not he'll be joining either of them."
We
wonder if one of those clubs is Li
Tie's Liaoning Badao club. Now that would be nice. Then the
scorer of Everton's second goal yesterday will finally become
an Everton player. (26/07/03)
Get
In The Queue
David
Moyes has hinted to Alex that he has a long way to go before he
will get a go in the first team.
Moyesy
said: "We don't really know anything about Alex.
We have a lot of players here who have worked really hard and
they will be given the nod ahead of Alex because he has only just
returned. He wasn't keen to stay at the club when he went out
on loan two years ago but he is back now and we are giving him
every chance to prove himself. But as a player, we know very little
about him."(24/07/03)
Number
21
Alex
Nyarko has been given the number 21 shirt for the season, which
must be a massive vote of confidence for him. Anyway he has a
chance to prove himself tomorrow night when he puts the shirt
on again when he will play against an Austrian Second Division
side.
Allegedly
Alex was asking the kit man for some velcro strips. What for we
wonder.
Moyesy
said:"We probably won't play any of the internationals
tomorrow night, but Alex will play some part. The games are against
low-key opposition and will just form an extension to the training
sessions. We
will still train on the days of the matches and they're just designed
to get the lads back playing with a football again."(16/07/03)
First
Impressions
Alex
Nyarko has been giving it his all in training to impress the his
new boss and up to now he seems to have made a good start to his
"new" Everton career.
David
Moyes said: "Alex has come in and done well. It’s
taken him a day or two to get back into the swing of things, but
we can’t fault his training at present. He’s gone about his work
in an excellent fashion. Before he came back, I’d only seen him
play once for Everton in a pre-season friendly when I was managing
Preston and he did extremely well on that day. So, we’ll wait
and see.”(10/07/03)
