Back To The Arse

Everton have not taken up the option to take Dumbo on a permenant contract.

Franny Has His Say

“It has been a real low point. I have had a hard time and obviously me and the manager have made up. What I said to the manager was purely out of frustration and my desire to play for Everton and earn a contract here. It probably didn't come out too well but like I said it was out of frustration. It has been difficult since I came back, but I knew that, I wanted to earn a contract and that's why I came back. I 'm just going to carry on working hard until the end of the season and it would be great but we'll have to wait and see. It has probably been the lowest point of my career.
“It is all finished with now I think in football managers and players have disagreements and it is all when everyone is wound up because everyone wants to play.Everyone wants to win, everyone wants to do well for the club and it was wrong to say what I said but once again it was out of frustration.I have been here seven months and things haven't worked out for me but the lads have been great, the Gaffer has been great and everyone at the club has.”

“I can't have a say in what the fans are going to say but I can reassure them by saying that it happens at every club, disagreements between managers and player, and once again it was out of my frustration. In a way it shows I'm hungry, it shows that I am not happy just to be sitting on the bench. I've not been happy on the bench, I think I have only played five games but that's not what I want. I have been working hard and I will carry on working hard.”(18/04/03)

Franny to Rangers ?

Michael Ball who left The Blues at the same time as Franny a few seasons ago, to try his hand in the Scottish game, believes his old team mate would go down a storm at Rangers. Ball who has lifted his game to another level, pitting his wits against teams of the calibre of Livingston and Partick Thistle, thinks that Franny's game would suit the demands of the Scottish League.

Michael Ball says: "I know Franny very well. His a great talent who makes fantastic runs and it would be nice to see him at Rangers. I think he could do a really good job at Rangers, especially the way we pass the ball about from back to front. Franny makes great runs and he will make himself a lot of chances at Rangers." Derby Dream

Franny Jeffers is hoping that his Cup goal scoring exploits will push him in to Moyesy's thought's to start this weekends Derby. Jeffers who has played in these titanic games before, and sent off in one aswell, will relish the chance to start against our most hated enemies. No handbags this time Franny, if you are going to do one of them, do it properly. Have a word with Dunc, in your tea break tommorow.

Franny says: "Obviously it is more important for the team to get results than for me to get games but maybe I might get a few more games now and maybe I might even get in the side for the derby. The gaffer here will pick what he sees as the best eleven to win the game and if I am in it, I am in it." (29/01/04)

A Goal At Last

Franny Jeffers whose last ditch effort kept Everton in this seasons Cup, is still realistic about his first team chances at Goodison. Franny who still hopes Everton will find the cash so he can move back to Merseyside this Summer, is desperate to be given a run in the first team. A few more like yesterday Franny, and you might start winning your knockers back, and yes that includes me.

Franny says: "It’s always frustrating sitting on the bench and watching what’s happening through the game. It’s not where you want to be. But at the moment, that’s where I’m going to have to be, because, there’s no point in hiding it, I’m down the pecking order in the list of strikers. It’s disappointing, but I’ll just keep plugging away and get on with it. I suppose scoring the equalising goal in the FA Cup is not going to do my cause any harm, but that chance at the end could have fallen to anyone. Luckily, it fell to me and that’s given my confidence a big lift. We were on our way out of the FA Cup, which would have been a huge disappointment, so I think it was a good time to score!" I'm Getting Better, Honest

Franny Jeffers is desperate to start scoring goals for the Blues, as he believes his all round game is getting better. Jeffers who re signed for the Blues in the Summer, after leaving a few season's before to earn lots of money, just want's to play football in a Royal Blue shirt. Franny who has come off the bench 7 times and started 5 in the first team this season has scored absolutely knob all goals, and with form like that even the shite might be interested in him. Should have stayed Franny, London is a shit 'ole, even if you were earning twice the amount. Me thinks you should not have kissed the Gooners badge when you scored against us. Bitter me, no never.

Franny says : "I’d agree with the gaffer in that there has been an improvement in my game recently. One thing I’ve had to get used to since I’ve been back is a different style of football. There’s no getting away from it, it is different. Everton don’t pass the ball in the way Arsenal do, anyone who watches football can see that. Re-adjusting to that was difficult, but now I’m getting into the swing of things, I haven’t missed a day’s training in a long while and I’m getting fitter and fitter with more appearances. I came on against Arsenal and I played against Fulham, so I’m definitely feeling a lot better. I’ve no doubting my ability and once I get playing, I know I will do well. Every striker needs a run in the team. Even the best strikers in the world would struggle if they played one week and were out the next. It’s the gaffer’s decision to go with other strikers, but I’m confident in my own ability and I know I’ve got to keep my head down and wait for my chance. I just want to play for Everton. Nothing has changed for me. I want to get back to scoring goals for Everton and enjoying my football again. That was the goal when I signed on August 31 and it’s the same today." (19/01/04)

Highbury Player Not Leaving Goodison

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp, has made enquires about luring Franny Jeffer's away from Goodison for the rest of his loan spell. In the mad world of football today, he has approached Everton about the Arsenal player going to Portsmouth. Ha, Ha, confused well it's daft isn't it. Whilst at Everton he is still an Arsenal player, so Portsmouth can't sign him, so piss off Harry and leave us alone.

Harry 'Twitchy' Redknapp says : "I am looking for a striker as we are desperately short. I have only really got Teddy Sheringham at the minute. I would like to sign Francis Jeffers, but I don't really think it is a goer. I will try and see, but I doubt it. He belongs to Arsenal and he is on loan at Everton and I doubt whether or not Arsenal would want to lose him." (14/01/04)

London Bound

Franny could still be heading back to Highbury, at the end of the season. Arsenal boss Wenger, who watched Franny come off the bench on Wednesday night to help Everton gain a draw, is adamant that the big eared one is still heading south. He has left a glimmer of hope for any potential move back to Goodison though, but a rumoured four million pound may put the Blues off. Everton were planning to do a few buckets outside the ground at the next few home games, to see how much they can raise. It is rumoured that they have £634.67p in the pot for potential transfer targets.

Wenger, The Man Who See's Nothing says: "I wanted to give Franny an opportunity to play, to go back to his old environment and to gain confidence again. He has made one step forward in that he has not been injured for a long time. I am sure that if he stays without injury he can come back to his best level. The competition is very high at Everton. He will certainly come back to us at the end of the season. I cannot say what will happen then, though." (09/01/04)

Grass Isn't Greener On The Other Side

Moyesy has fired a little warning to The Duke, when he talks of Franny's ill judged decision to leaves the Blues when he did prematurely. Jeffer's who thought the grass was greener on the other side, has come back to Goodison, and found himself further down the pecking order than ever. Moyesy though does offer some encouragement, telling Jeffer's, that his time will come eventually this season.

Moyesy says : "Maybe Franny should have had another season or two at Everton before moving away. Maybe that's as big a message to give to any player. The best idea is to stay and get the games under his belt. Looking back, he might think it was too early for him to leave."What he really needs is a run of games but, as I told him when he arrived, I couldn't promise him anything. That's still the way it stands. But I'm delighted to have him and I've enjoyed working with him. He's still playing for an opportunity here long term. But we can't promise anything. We can only put out what we think is the best team. Recently, in training and even when he's come on in games, he's looked lively. If he gets an opportunity, I'm sure that there are goals in him. I think he's probably a little bit disappointed with the way things have gone, but he knew the way things would be when he came here. Between now and the end of the season, Franny Jeffers will play a part. There will be games for him to prove himself between now and then. We'll see what we've got, and I'll pick the best squad of players for the game." (07/01/04)

Sharpy Speaks, Franny Listens

Franny Jeffers has been given a vote of confidence as he tries to break his barren run in front of goal for Everton, by no other than Blues scoring legend Graeme Sharp.

Everton Legend, Radio Pundit, and My All Time Fuckin' Hero Graeme Sharp says: "Francis Jeffers is a goalscorer. He's just been unfortunate for whatever reason. Since he moved up from Arsenal he hasn't had many starts. The gaffer has chosen Radzinski and Wayne Rooney on occasions but everyone knows that Francis is a proven goalscorer. He's a young player and he's still got an awful lot to offer Everton Football Club. He'll have looked at Wednesday as an opportunity to stake a claim. I think Francis just needs a goal to kick start his Everton career. He's desperate for a chance. Before Middlesbrough I think he started one game against Southampton, which was a poor game overall for the team. (05/12/03)

Patience is a Virtue

Franny is refusing to let his spell on the sub's bench get him down, and is vowing when his times comes to grab it with both hands. He is happy to be back at Goodison, and with his fitness levels returning he feels it will not be long till we see Franny of old. Let's hope so, as a Jefffer's of old with an in form Rooney to me is a frightening thought, for any defence.

Franny says: "It’s probably been as I’d expected so far, it’s going to take time to get going. Obviously I wasn’t as fit as I’d have liked when I came here, I didn’t get many games at Arsenal but I’m getting there. I’ve just got to be patient for the time being and I’m sure my chance will come. When I left here I was playing week in week out but then I went to Arsenal and things didn’t work out there. I’m used to being patient but I’m obviously not happy with it because no footballer is ever happy with not playing. It’s just a case of getting my head down and working hard. I’m not frustrated, I’m just eager to get my chance and show what I can do. The manager has told me to be patient and my time will come. Of course I’m looking beyond my year here. I’m enjoying my time here and I’ve got to prove to the manger that I’m worthy of a contract here." (29/11/03)

Waiting Nearly Over

Prodigal's son, Franny Jeffers has been assured by Moyesy that his chance will come in the first team sooner rather than later. The 22 year old has been involved in just four out of a possible eleven starts since his return from Arsenal, back on transfer deadline day in September. Moyesy's words sound pretty ominous for Dunc who as we know is having a few troubles of his own.

Moyesy says: "Francis Jeffers' opportunity will come. I have told him that the chances will come for him and that when he gets an opportunity he will have to grasp it with both hands. The rest of the team needs to see the strikers getting goals, as that is what a player has to do to justify his role as a striker. Our forwards have not been getting too many goals. The boys work on their finishing every day and there is no reason for us not to be taking our chances. Everybody is feeling much better after the weekend result and now we must try to build on it." (26/11/03)

Franny Returns

Franny Jeffers came through ninety unscathed minutes for the rezzies last night in our defeat against the shite. As with Super Kev, Moysey has no need to rush either of them back with our array of riches up front.Dumbo may have just done enough though to force a place in the squad for Saturdays visit to the Capital.

Moysey says:" He came back for us last night in the reserves and he needed the match practice and got 90 minutes. In actual fact he did a bit more running than expected because we were down to ten men for the majority of the game.” (30/09/03)

No Record

Franny Jeffers had a few chances to score, but was thwarted by a decent goalie, & a miss or two. (10/09/03)
Lavington Spa gives his view on the u21's @ Goodison Park.

Back at Goodison

Franny steps out at Goodison tomorrow night for England U21's 'must win' game against Portugal, he leads the line and will be looking to score to break Alan Shearer's record, we will all be behind him. Moyesy has laid it on the line saying, ' It is down to him now to show me and the supporters that he really wants to stay at Everton at the end of the loan.'
Franny is deperately keen to make this work, tomorrow could be the start of a long and lasting relationship. Good luck Franny.(08/09/03)

England U21's lost 2-1 with Joey Barton of Man City scoring, at least he's an Evertonian!
Next time Franny!! (10/09/03)

U21's Record

Franny played in the 1-1 draw for the U21's tonight, but failed to make the record he shares with Alan Shearer his own. Jeffers has scored his 13 goals in only 14 games. His best chance came when he hit a shot narrowly over the bar. (05/08/03)

Fighting Talk

Franny is back & prepared to fight for his place. He says he's now more mature, but did you see the suit on him at Goodison.

Dumbo says: "This is the only club I wanted to come to after Arsenal. It means the world to me to be back at Everton. It will be difficult to get a place with all the strikers here apart from Wayne Rooney, but I'm up for it. Any player in the world would be excited about playing alongside Wayne, but there are other top strikers here. My time at Arsenal has only brought me on as a player and person and I've got nothing bad to say about Arsenal. It didn't work out, but this is the place I wanted to be and I want to thank Everton and Bill Kenwright for doing the deal. People questioned me when I left, but I never once told Everton I wanted to leave and they agreed the deal with Arsenal." (02/09/03)

Dumbo Returns

Franny Jeffers has returned to his beloved Everton on a years loan, with some obscure deal at the end of it, if all parties agree. Anyone who pulls on a blue shirt will get 100% backing from the fans. The fox in the box needs to get fit, play games, stop getting sent off, & score goals, & we'll be one big happy family again.

Moyesy says: "This is his chance to put right the things what many people have said about him. It will give him an opportunity to compete for a position in the team but there is no guarantee with Wayne, Kevin, Tomasz, Duncan and Nick Chadwick. I felt though that we needed to add a little bit more so as the season goes on we can have more goals from the squad and adding Francis should help that." (01/09/03)
