On his first day in the hot seat proper, Blue Bill has issued a hands off warning to anyone eyeing up, Scottish wonderkid, Jimmy Mac. The vultures that are Celtic and Rangers are believed to be circling around the precocious young talent, but I am sure Bill would be inviting World War Three with Moyesy, if he even considered selling one of out brightest prospects. Blue Bill says: "It would not surprise me in the slightest if Rangers, or indeed Celtic, were still interested in McFadden. The fact is, we see James as one for the future. I have spoken to David Moyes over the weekend and I know he sees James as a first team pick next season." (02/06/04) Jamie has been included in the Scotland squad to play Estonia (away) on 27th May, and then Trinidad & Tobago (home) on 30th May. (05/05/04) I'm Staying Jamie McFadden is here for the ride and any whispers that he may return to Scotland to either Celtic or Rangers are not true. Faddy says:'I've seen those stories linking me with the Old Firm and I saw them before I went down south. I'm not bothered about them. Last season would have been the time to have gone to those places. It would be silly of me to leave Everton after a year. I'd only be doing it to get another move back down south. 'Everyone wants to play in the Premiership and I'm there. The move has definitely improved me and I feel I'm a better player now than when I first arrived in England. I haven't played as much as I'd have liked but I've still had about 20 games and you can't beat that experience. I'm playing against high calibre players every week. 'I'm not as sharp as I should be because I'm not playing but I'm not using that as an excuse. I'm training every day with great players and I just have to look forward to next season. The fans have taken to me right from the start. It's a great club and the people are really nice' (02/05/04) Take A Chance On Me Scottish Manager Berti Vogts, is delighted with the contribution Faddy bring's to the International set up, except for his goal return. Faddy who missed a couple of chances in the Scots 1-0 defeat, also earned some praise off the Danish coach Morten Olsen. Olsen took to managing after his singing career with A-Ha, went down the tubes. Berti
Vogts says: "I thought the Danes had a lot of problems with
Kyle and McFadden but James has to learn that he must take his chances.
Even if he has only one chance, he must score." Waynes Equal Faddy was flattered by comments attributed to him by manager Davey Moyes. Likening the Scottish wonder kid, to a certain English wonder kid, has made Faddy's day. Isn't great for the future of Everton Football Club, that we have on our books the two most promising individuals in the country. Blue Bill, take note, don't cash in lets build on this. Faddy says: "Saying that I was one of the two biggest talents in British football was a great compliment from David Moyes. It’s nice to be mentioned in the same breath as Wayne, because he is a great talent. Hopefully, I can prove to the manager now that I want it and that I’m up for it, if he’s willing to give me the chance. It was good to play upfront against Tottenham - it was the first time for Everton. I really enjoyed it and I think that showed. I’m learning with every game and I’m learning with every training session. " (11/04/04) Lifted Faddy was the only bright spark of the game even though he only played the second half. He will now be hoping to try and get a start for the Toffeemen and with Wayne and Dunc missing on Saturday yer never know. Jamie
says: "It does lift you knowing the crowd is behind you.
I was just happy to get some sort of action because I have not been playing
regularly for Everton. It was nice to score a goal as well, it was just
a pity it didn't give us a result."(01/04/04) Faddy Scores for Scotland Although Scotland lost 2-1 to Rumania, it was a good run out for Jamie. He scored Scotland's goal in a much needed start to a game. (31/03/04) High's and Lows Faddy who was obviously delighted to be back involved with the first team squad, was at the same time gutted to suffer another defeat for the Blues. With Everton conceding seven goals in their last two defeats, Faddy believes all the team should burden the blame, and not just the lads at the back. Hear, hear. On the good news front for Faddy, he has been picked alongside Nace to face Wales in Cardiff next week by Scottish Manager Berti Vogts. Faddy says: "It was good to be involved. I haven’t played for the past four or five games, a couple of them through injury and I wasn’t back in the squad for a couple. But I’m back in the 16 now and I want to stay there for the next game. I knew this league was tough when I came down here, but it shows you that you can come to these places and lose 0-3. But you can also go to places and win 3-0. It’s a tough one to call, but it was Birmingham’s night and not ours. We’ve got a break now. I don’t know if it’s a help or a hindrance as only time will tell. I suppose it gives the players time to reflect." (13/02/04) |
