International
Hold Up
Everton's
Lee Carsley has put his International career on hold for now,
as he tries to re-establish himself in the Everton first team.
Carsley who has seen himself slip down the pecking order at Goodison
of late, was quick to dismiss bluekipper.com's claim, that he
was considering an offer to appear as Harry Hill's stunt double
in the comic's forthcoming new film. Carsley told us to get off
his property, or he would call the police.
Carsley
says: "For the forseeable future I am not going
to make myself available for the Republic of Ireland national
team. I want to concentrate on Everton and re-establish myself
here and if I am going to Ireland to play in international fixtures
then I feel that I can't do it. I came to the decision about four-to-six
months ago and it is only my family that have said 'No, keep going'
but I can't keep doing it and by not making myself available it
will give me more time to spend at home." (07/04/04)
Carsley's
Goal
Harry
Hill has been credited with Everton's opener in our pre Christmas
win over Leicester City at Goodison. The ball looked like it took
a deflection of Steve Howey, but Lee claimed it at the time. The
aptly named, no I am not kidding ' Dubious Goals Panel', awarded
the strike to Carsley, this morning. They also gave goal of the
month, to Gary Chuckle's strike for the Blues on Boxing Day against
United, complementing him on his total lack of skill, and total
ineptness in front of goal. He is due to receive his award off
Krusty the Clown at United's next home game. (13/01/04)
Back
From Injury
Harry
Hill was delighted to get a game under his belt in the rezzy's
at Wolves last night. He believes his fitness levels are on the
way back, but concedes he has a battle on his hands to fight his
way back in the first eleven with The Grav and Toby performing
well against Wolves.
Harry
Hill says: It’s brilliant to be playing again, as obviously,
I missed the first few games of the season, then I was back in
the side. Now I’ve missed the last four games, so I’m just looking
to get back. Playing in the reserves is all about fitness and
I felt good and strong throughout the game, so I’m just looking
forward now to trying to get back in the team. I thought the lads
did ever so well on Saturday, Tommy and Toby were great, so as
long as the team keeps winning, I’m prepared to wait for my chance.
The size of the squad that we’ve got, we’re always going to have
players who are fresh and players who are able to come into the
side trying to impress. That can only be good for the side.

First
Team Return ?
With
Steve Watson still out injured, Moyesy will be happy to hear the
news that Harry Hill will be back joining the 1st team squad next
week, and could be fit for the Wolves game. He has been missed,
especially by Tony Hibbert, who needs the presence of an arl arse
like Lee.
Lee
says: “I’m coming along well. I started running properly
on Monday, so I’ve been working a lot with Baz, doing laps of
Bellefield. I’m now going to be doing some twisting and turning
over the weekend, and then hopefully I’ll be back in full training
next week.” (08/11/03)
False
Alarm
Some
good news today for midfielder Lee Carsley, as tests showed his
injury sustained on Sunday is not as bad as first thought. Although
the knee problem will still keep him out for a month, the news
is a lot better than first anticipated.
Mick
'Basil' Rathbone says: "We never thought it was
serious, although we never take any unnecessary chances with the
players where injuries are concerned, as we thought last night,
he has sprained his medial ligaments, though fortunately it is
not the same spot as the injury in pre-season.We have assessed
him today and I anticipate he will be back in contention within
a month." (21/10/03)
Knee
Trouble
Lee
Carsley looks set for an extended break on the sidelines, as Everton
Boss David Moyes fears the worst about the Irish midfielder's
knee injury. Carsley who was substituted in the second half of
yesterdays dismal draw with the Saints, is having a scan today
to see the extent of the damage.
Moyesy
says: "Lee sustained some medial ligament damage
in the game against Southampton and it looks like it is a recurrence
of the injury he had in pre-season. (20/10/03)
Out
Of Euro 04
Lee
could do nothing to help his Republic team mates, as he sat on
his arse on the bench. (12/10/03)
In
Republic Squad
Harry
Hill hopes to carry on the good form he brought into the Leeds
game with him. He has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad
for the clash with Switzerland to be played a week on Saturday.
Kevin Kilbane will join him. (02/10/03)
Missed
Chances
Lee
Carsley came on at half-time at Boro, & had an immediate effect.
He replaced the ill Steve Watson on the right, renewing the successful
partnership with Tony Hibbert. Between them they stifled Zenden,
who was running riot in the first half & Lee got forward missing
some gilt edged chances.
Harry
says: "If the chances had gone to the right people
then perhaps it would have ended differently. I had a couple myself
and if it had been Wayne on the end of them instead of me it would
have been a different story. I would normally expect to finish
chances like that to be honest but the more games I play the sharper
my finishing will be. A half-chance as good as that doesn't come
along very often in the Premiership. Last season we did well because
we outfought people, won the battles and earned the right to play.
We didn't do that here until after 60 minutes. We did more than
enough to deserve the win but we couldn't do the toughest thing,
which is putting the ball in the net. That proved very costly."

Back
@ Bellefield
Harry was back at Bellefield this
week, as he was not needed for the friendly against Turkey this
week. He will continue his regime to get back to full match fitness
with a run out with the reserves.
Moyesy
says: "Lee hasn't suffered a recurrence of the knee
injury that he picked up in pre-season and will probably play
for the reserves tomorrow evening. He is just not 100 per cent
match fit and I was a little surprised that he was selected for
the Republic of Ireland." (09/09/03)
Half
A Game
Harry
Hill played the 1st half of the 1-1 draw against Russia. It's
another step forward on the road to recovery. (07/09/03)
Back
To Dublin
Lee
played for 60 minutes in Tuesday's reserve victory against Wolves
and then packed his bags for a flight to Dublin to meet up with
the Irish squad for their game against Russia on Saturday.
Lee
said: It was important that I got some kind of a game
under my belt before I join up with the Republic. It's nice to
play in games. That's my first one this season, but to set a couple
was particularly pleasing. I was never going to make the derby
game at the weekend, so everything was geared towards me being
fit for the international game.(04/09/03)
Call
Up versus The Ruskis
Lee
Carsley has bee recalled to the Republic of Ireland squad for
the crunch game against Russia at Lansdowne Road on Sept 7th.
Harry Hill is having intense treatment on his knee injury and
hopes to be fit for the Merseyside derby and also hopes to regain
his place for the important Euro Qualifier

Lee
Carsley has pulled out of the Republic of Ireland squad for the

which kept him out of the Arse squad. (18/08/03)
Harry
Stars For The Irish

he got forward, & hooked a ball over his head for Robbie Keane
