Agent
Paul
Gerrard has issued a come and get me plea to Forest boss Joe Kinnear.
Paul who spent a good portion of last season at Forest on loan,
is now officially a free agent, after his contract with the Blues
expired yesterday. Gerrard who has been with the Blues since 1996,
has not really reached the heights expected of him when ex boss
Big Joe Royle signed him from Oldham. All the best goes to Paul
from bluekipper.com, and we hope he gets fixed up with a club
soon.
Gezza
says: "It would be nice to go back - but at the
moment, I am waiting on phone calls. I loved my time at Forest
last season and the team did very well while I was there. I think
Forest have got a great chance of gaining promotion this season
and should be aiming for at least the play-offs."(01/07/04)
Gezza
Leaves For Forest
Gezza is on his way to Forest on
loan for the rest of the season, but because he becomes a free
agent at the end of the season, itsa good bye to Gezza.
Gezza
says:"You’re in the shop window. If you play well
then you get yourself a move for the following season, so it is
an incentive for me to do well there. Hopefully I can do as well
as I did at Sheffield because I enjoyed my time there. I enjoyed
training, enjoyed the games and I hope it goes as well at Forest
as it did in Sheffield.”(25/03/04)
Gezza
Staying
Everton's
hopes of reducing their wage bill, and hopefully bringing in a
few bob as well, were dealt an unlucky blow, when Paul Gerrard
tore his cartilage. Gezza who was one of a few players, who would
have definitely been transferred, or certainly loaned out in the
transfer window, will now stay on the Everton wage bill, at least
till his return to fitness.
Moyesy
says : "Paul is in need of a cartilage operation
on his knee, he's got a tear in his cartilage that he did in training.
He's been on loan at Sheffield United and since he came back from
that just before Christmas he's been fine, he's been training.
But he hasn't had any reserve games in that period and he thinks
he has damaged the knee in training." (16/01/04)
Get
To The Back Of The Cue
Paul
Gerrard stay at Sheffield United has come to an end, when terms
could not be met regarding an extension to his loan period. Jezzer
is ready to tackle the competition in front of him, to win back
his place, but are we ready for him.
Jezzer
says: "It has changed a bit since I left with Nigel
Martyn coming in, but competition for places is something I have
been used to throughout my career here at Everton. It is up to
me to prove to the manager I can play my part." (01/12/03)
Hoping
For A Permanent Move
Jezzer
is hoping to stay at Sheff Utd permanently in the Jan Sales. Having
seen himself relegated to 5th choice behind Martyn, Wright, Turner,
& Simmo, he realise's his future will be away from the Premiership.
Jezzer
says: "If
I go to another Premiership club I'm probably going to be facing
more of the same."
Sheff
Utd Manager, Neil Warnick says: "I don't think there's
much chance, no. Not at the moment. We couldn't meet his wages.
He's still got another month of his loan left anyway, so we're
not thinking long term with Paul yet. But things change and we
can't rule it out altogether." (29/10/03)
Going
Gezza
is on his way to Sheffield Utd on a 3 month loan.(29/08/03)
Staying
Gezza
is determined to stay at Goodison despite the rumours of him going
to Ipswich.
Gezza
said: "I haven't spoken to anyone about going back to Ipswich.
Ipswich is a great club and I enjoyed my time there but at the
moment all I am doing is concentrating on working hard for Everton.
I have a year left on my contract and due to Richard picking up
an injury over the summer I could possibly be handed a chance
at the start of the season."(22/07/03)
Gezza
In For Arsenal
Gezza
could be the surprise choice of David Moyes for the first game
of the season.
Moyesy
said:"Gezza has worked incredibly hard pre-season
and is probably in as good a shape as we have seen him. He has
lost half-a-stone and is looking sharp. Richard Wright is still
touch-and-go for the start of the season so it is good to see
Paul pushing himself so hard."(19/07/03)
