Rads World Cup Dream

Fancy seeing The Rad in action today, well get over to Wrexham's Race Course Ground, to see Wales take on Rad's Canadian counterparts. The Rad who is determined to play in a World Cup, before he is put out to pasture, will be taking todays game seriously, before Canada's first qualifying game next month against the might of Belize.

The Rad says: "We have to play 20 games to qualify for the World Cup, which is a huge amount. If we get to the last stage, three of the final six go through so although it is not easy, it is not as difficult as it used to be. I have just turned 30 and for me the finals in Germany in 2006 will be the last chance for me to get to the finals. I do not want to miss that opportunity and I see the first warm-up game against Wales as the beginning of my dream." (30/05/04)

Two Year Offer

David Moyes has confirmed that the Rad has been offered a two year deal. It is rumored that he is not too happy because he was expecting a three year deal.

Moysey says:"We’ve offered Tomasz Radzinski a new deal as we have done with David Unsworth.
We’ve offered them both two-year contracts. It’s just a case now of waiting and seeing. We’ve made those offers and we’ll wait and see what happens." (04/05/04)

Contract Extension

It looks like The Rad will be offered a new two year extension to his existing deal this Summer. Rad has fourteen months to go on his current deal, but Moyesy has been delighted with his attitude and commitment to the club, this season. Portsmouth and Blackburn have been circling around the dynamic striker, but with this deal, Everton has given them a clear message, to piss off. (20/04/04)

Here Next Season

The Rad is already thinking of next season, but he wants to end the rest of this one unbeaten. Which other Everton's srikers will be here next year?

The Rad says: “We have only lost once in the last nine and we just need to try and not lose any more games. This year could, and should, have been better and everybody is disappointed with the position that we’re in but we need to forget this season and concentrate on the next.”(19/04/04)

Countdown

Unfortunately its that time of year again when clubs have got their calculators out, working out how many points are needed to stay up this season. Everton's Carol Vorderman this season is The Rad, who believes that the magic number of forty points may not even be needed to survive the drop. Tommy boy, lets be thinking about getting nearer to fifty points, and salvage a half decent finish out of the season.

The Rad says: "Everybody says that forty points is the magic number. I don't think you will need that many this season, I think it is going to be lower, but having said that it is definitely forty we are after as a minimum. I think that especially against your rivals for survival in the Premiership, if you are taking points away from them it doesn't matter if you win them or not, as long as they don't get any closer to you. We did that against Leicester and we still have Leeds and Wolves to face away from home. If we can do the same then the results will give them problems." (31/03/04)

Top of The Pile

Canadian International Tomasz Radzinski is putting all thoughts of finishing Everton's top scorer behind him, till the Blues Premiership safety has been mathematically secured. The Rad who topped last season's scoring charts, is a few behind the Big Man's overall tally for this season, but ahead of him on Premiership goals alone. Tomasz has vowed not to pass to any of his team mates in all future games from now on.

The Rad says: "To be honest, I don’t care who finishes as the club’s top scorer. All I care about right now is that in our next three games we’ve got enough points to consider ourselves to be safe. But honestly, if Nigel Martyn is going to come up and score the most important goal of the season, then I hope he does! In fact, I hope that he can overtake all of us, just as long as we can be safe a long time before the season finishes. Then we can think about who’s going to be top scorer and can just concentrate on playing the type of football that we’re capable of. In a way it’s frustrating that there’s a long gap before our next game, but in a way it isn’t. Before the Aston Villa game we were all aware of the long gap between games and some of them we’re looking forward to the gap so that we could all have a little time off and recharge our batteries. Now, because of the win, we’re going to have an even more pleasurable time, rather than going away with our heads down. I think only positive things will come from Saturday’s win."(04/03/04)

A Happier Place

The win against Villa has made Bellefield a happier place according to the Rad and he is chuffed to bits with his third headed goal of the season.

The Rad says: “A win makes so many things so much easier, as it puts a different perspective in everyone else’s mind. We’re looking forward to a brighter future from now on rather than looking over our shoulders. At Bellefield today everyone is walking around a lot happier, with smiles on their faces and more positive than we have been in the last few weeks.
“It was a great ball in from Wayne, although we did get a little bit of luck. The ball took a deflection off the defender’s knee, who knows it might have been a little bit too long or maybe too short, or maybe it would have gone behind me. But for once Lady Luck smiled on us and when he crossed the ball it fell perfectly for me.(02/03/04)

Do One

David Moyes has told Blackburn to do one when asked if the Rad was for sale.

Moyesy said: “I have already indicated on a number of occasions in the past that we are not in the business here at Everton of selling our best players. We want to keep hold of him.”

Sourpuss said: " "I spoke to David Moyes on Monday and he told me Tomasz was not for sale. He is a good player, but I respect Everton's word and we will look elsewhere." (27/01/04)

I Love You Mate

The Rad and The Duke have created a mini storm in a tea cup, over the goal celebrations from Wednesday's draw against Arsenal. Can you believe muppets have been ringing in to radio stations, writing to the local press to express their concern at the way goal celebrations are going. Listen, put your edition of 'Great Rail Journey of Britian' down go out to the pub, and get a fuckin' life you hermits. Anyway that's what me and my long term friend Crispin think, so there. (10/01/04)

Anyone Remember Me !!!

Every one remembers The Duke's goal against Arsenal last season, but lest we forget that The Rad scored a belter himself to pull the team's level. The Rad modest as ever though, heaps the praise on Rooney's stunning winner, and the work ethic of his team mates on that memorable October day.

The Rad says : "I think everybody was really excited that day and we started the game pretty well. We lost a goal quite easily very early in the game but we didn’t lose our heads and we just came back and started to fight for every single ball. That’s what brought us back to 1-1 and then the great goal from Wayne came from nowhere. I don’t think many people will forget that day. It’s always nice to play Arsenal and if we could beat them again, it would be really lovely. I think last year after we beat Arsenal we went on a winning streak of six or seven games and I think maybe winning against them tomorrow could boost our confidence again and we could go on another winning streak, so let’s hope for the best." Fitness Battle

Everton manager David Moyes is hopeful striker Tomasz Radzinski will be fit to face Birmingham at Goodison Park on Sunday. The striker who was omitted late on from the Everton squad to face United with a slight calf strain, should be ok to face Birmingham on Sunday afternoon. Everton who desperately missed his pace against the Mancs will be hoping the little Canadian passes a fitness test before Sundays encounter. (27/12/03)

Going Nowhere

Chief Exec Michael Dunford has quashed rumours that shot shy striker Tomasz Radzinski is off to pastures new. Villa and Blackburn are apparently in the hunt for the Polish born Canadian striker (if that makes sense), but Dunford has categorically stated no offers have been made for The Rad.

Michael Dunford says: "We have had no approaches from any other club with regard to Tomasz Radzinski. He still has 18 months left on his contract and it is unlikely that the possibility of any new contract or contract extension will be discussed before next summer."(12/12/03)

Goal For Canada

The Rad scored a consolation goal for Canada in the 5-1 defeat by the Czech Republic in a friendly. (15/11/03)

Canada Call Up For Rad

Tomasz Radzinski has been called up by Canada for their friendlies against the Czech Republic and the Republic of Ireland this week. (13/11/03)

It Will Come Good (Lets Hope So)

Tomasz Radzinski has told the fans it will all come good, if we carry on playing as we did on Saturday against Chelsea. It is a bold statement from one of the main culprits from Saturday's defeat, as now we have not scored in over six and a half hours of Premiership football. With Blackburn next Monday, live on Sky, The Rad and all the other usual suspects will not have a better time to repay the fans for some dreadful finishing, that we had to sit through.

The Rad says: "The strikers have to produce and I am sure we will, as you cannot have games like the one against Chelsea where you have so much play yet finish up without any goals. As a team this was our best performance of the season, but it was one of those games. I missed in the first minute and it haunted us for the rest of the match. We believed at half time the only team who could go off the pitch as winners at the end was us.It was so frustrating knowing we had dominated for such long spells and not won, particularly against Chelsea because everybody now wants to beat them. We deserved to win but they went away with the three points, which is very hard to take." (03/11/03)

Villa Comeback ?

The Rad is targeting Saturdays away trip to Villa for a comeback after a calf strain kept him out of Sunday's drab goalless draw against the Saints. He is hoping to return to training today or tomorrow, after feeling no ill effects on his calf.

Moyesy says: "Tomasz is doing a lot better and hopefully he'll join in training shortly, although we will leave it until later in the week before he gives it a go. He is not feeling any pain in his calf when he's walking now, as he was last week, which is a positive sign for us and hopefully he'll have a chance." (22/10/03)

Rad Raring To Go

With the competition for positions up front extremely fierce at Goodison these days, it is easy to forget that The Rad has started all of Everton's games in the league this season. Moyesy highly rates the energetic little Canadian, who looks likely to continue his first team run against the Saints this weekend.

The Rad says: "This season we are still trying to find the right combination of players and a consistent rhythm to our game. Maybe on Sunday it is going to be a new beginning to our season and will jump start things for us to make sure we are going to be in the top half of the table and not the bottom half. Teams know now what to expect from Everton. We were probably one of the hardest working sides last season and we need to maintain that.If we can continue with that then any side will have difficulty beating us.Now we have six strikers and if they are all available that is a lot of competition and it means everybody has to be on top of their game.If everybody is fit then the results will come." (19/10/03)

On Target For Canada

Tommy scored for his country in a 3-2 defeat by Finland in a friendly. (12/10/03)

Bring on The Arse

Tommy has been wrapped in cotton wool all week, with the backroom staff making sure he stays fit unlike our other strikers, but is relishing the trip to Highbury.

The Rad says: “They don’t come any tougher but I think it’s a really great way to start the season, going away to one of the contenders for the title and the only thing we can do is go there with optimism. We can’t go there thinking that we’re going to lose and I personally am going there looking to get something from the game and maybe even three points. We always give them a good game and I don’t see Saturday being any different. I always look forward to games against the top sides. You never need as much mental preparation, you just go out there and play the best football that you can. The whole country will be watching for this one and that gives you the extra push."
