On The Bed With Baz - 04/05

Mick 'Baz' Rathbone is Everton's Head Physio. He and his team need to be good. The Everton squad is one of the smallest in the Premiership so Baz will need to Brilliant on the Bed at Bellefield

Your a Star

Everton Physio, and part time Super Sleuth, Basil Rathbone, according to Moyesy is his best signing to date. The bald eagle, whose caring soft hands, have put many players back on the road to recovery, is receiving congratulations off the gaffer, for keeping the squad in tip top condition.

Moyesy says: "I have said all along that 'Baz' is the best signing I have made at the club. Not just for his top quality physio work, but for his personality as well which keeps everyone going at Bellefield. He and his team have done a great job. Of course we have been fortunate as well, although you tend to find that the less players you have in a squad, the fewer injuries you have as well.

Without naming anybody, there are players here who have happily soldiered on with knocks and injuries this season, and maybe that doesn't happen so much when you have a larger squad. We have also been in a good position in the Premiership all season and you also tend to find that players are desperate to play and be a part of things when that is happening. But that shouldn't detract from the work that Baz and his staff have done this season." (09/03/05)

Three Strikers Injured

Baz needs to be at his best this week, as we have Bent, Ferguson and Campbell all injured and doubtful for Saturday's game with Brum. With the squad so small it leaves only Nick Chadwick as the only fit striker at the moment. Luckily we have got away with it so far this season, but with no cash until January, Baz needs his healing hands to go to work this week on the bed.

Baz on Bent: “We are still not certain what happened, though Marcus thought he got a knock or twisted it. Unfortunately it happened in the first minute of the game and the actual video footage didn't kick in until after 90 seconds. He is uncomfortable and sore, he wouldn't have come off otherwise, but my initial reaction is that it doesn't look too serious at this stage, though we would put him in the doubtful category.”

Injured

Baz on Dunc: “Duncan has a relatively minor strain though he's making decent progress and has a fighting chance for the weekend. But we have numerous players with bumps and bruises and we will see how they settle over the next few days.” (10/11/04)
