Enjoying Scottish Loan Spell
The
move came about after a chat between two old Celtic mates, Stranraer manager
Neil watt & Moyesy. Foxy still trains with Everton and travels to
Scotland for the games. He is enjoying the regular football.
Danny
says:
"On Monday to Friday I just train here as normal and then travel
to Glasgow on Friday afternoon with my dad and stay in a hotel. It`s about
an hour and a half to Stranraer but most of the players are based in Glasgow
so we meet the team coach and travel together.
I’m hopefully in the Gaffers plans and would like to feature at some point.
My time up at Stranraer will help me do that with any luck. In Everton
Reserves you can sometimes go three-Four weeks without a fixture but whilst
I'm at Stranraer and getting regular first team football I'm hoping that
not only can I help us get promotion but I'm hoping that I'm staking my
claim too." (16/03/05)
On
Loan To Stranraer
With no opportunities in the first team,
Foxy has gone north to Scotland to get a game. He has also said he was
available to play for Walter Smith's International team.
Foxy
says: "The manager pulled me into his office on Saturday
before the Sunderland game and said there was a team interested in taking
me to Scotland to give me experience. Just getting first team experience
is bound to benefit any young player and hopefully I can get some under
my belt as soon as possible. It has been frustrating because the team
are doing so well and maybe this time last year there may have been opportunities.
But with reserve team football you can play one week and then there may
not be another game for a few weeks.
To
be perfectly honest I don’t know a great deal about Scottish football
but I am eligible to play for Scotland because of my granddad.”
