Nick Chadwick is thanking David Moyes for letting him leave the Blues and carry on his career elsewhere. Chaddy who left for Plymouth in the week, is looking forward to the new challenge ahead. Good luck Nick in the future. Chaddy says: "Over the last 12 months or so when I realised that I wasn’t going to be a part of things then my next move was to try to forward my career elsewhere. I spoke to the manager about that and was told that numbers were low and that wouldn’t be allowed to happen. When Thomas and Kevin left it left us even lower on numbers, so I was surprised when he called me into the office and allowed me to leave. It’s something which I need to thank David Moyes for - the fact that he has finally let me get on with my career and better myself. I’d been involved in recent weeks and that had given me a boost and I was always hoping that something would come of that, but I think deep down I always knew that. To be fair it had been proven before, that even if I had come on and done well it didn’t necessarily mean that I was going to be included the next week." (11/02/05) Nick scored Everton's third goal against Plymouth in the 3rd round tie and that was enough for manager Bobby Williamson to ask about him. With Beattie signing, Chaddy was even further down the pecking order. He already had behind Bent Ferguson and recently McFadden to contend with. The 22 year old is due to finalise his personal terms and have a medical tomorrow. We will get £250,000. He scored 6 goals in 21 first team games. (08/02/05) Chaddy scored his second goal of the season at Plymouth from only 3 substitute appearances in cup ties. He is now Everton's leading goalscorer in Cup competitions. Chaddy says: "I asked the masseur how long to go just before I came on and when he told me I said: ‘That’s enough time to get one’. I couldn’t have asked for more than that at Plymouth. I remember saying just before Christmas that if a chance came my way then I’d have to take it. I came on with not long left and all you can do is try and make an impact on the game. In my position that’s scoring a goal and that’s what I did." (10/01/04) Chaddy looks at the impression his mate Leon Osman has made and thinks that should be me. Both were out on loan last season, Ossie at Derby, and Chaddy at Millwall, but it seems in Moyesy's eyes, Ossie has pushed on more than his old rezzie striking partner Chaddy. Chaddy though may have his chance to shine tonight. Chaddy says: "If you had Ozzie asked him 12 months ago I don't think he would have been convinced that the chance was going to come at Everton. Now it has come and everybody has seen how well he has done. I am made up for him. It does give me heart to see how well he has done. But it also disappoints me that he has done that well and I haven't made that step as well. We have always done as well as each other as we have come through the ranks. And seeing how well he is doing makes me feel I deserve a chance to do that as well." (27/10/04) Chaddy is becoming more and more frustrated with the lack of 1st team opportunities. But he will give it everything he has got while he is here. He also sees the Carling Cup as a chance to make an impression. Chaddy
says: "I’ve clung onto that hope for a few seasons now and
it hasn’t really materialized. But I’m never going to give up on that
for as long as I’m here. I’m nearly 22 now, I’ve been out on loan a few
times but I’ve got to be realistic and look at it and think it might not
happen for me here. Stevey Watson is telling prolific Rezzie striker Nick Chadwick, to keep his head down, work hard and his time will come. Chaddy has took a back seat, whilst his mate Ossie has grabbed his chance in the first team, scoring two goals in the process this season. Watto however thinks Chaddy deserves his break, and it won't be long till he is netting again for the big boys, like against Bristol City last week. Stevey Watson says: "I know Chaddy hasn't broken into the side yet. But if you saw him in training, he's a credit to his profession. He deserves his break. But he only has to look at Ossie to see that if he works hard enough, his chance will come. Ossie had a brilliant end to last season and a fantastic pre-season. He's been at the club a long time and been patient. He's taken a while to get in, but in training over the past two or three years, he's been magnificent in his attitude. The same is true of Nick Chadwick as well." (29/09/04) Chaddy gave Moyesy a reminder he was still here when he stuck another in the back of the net for the rezzies last night against 'boro. He hopes to get a chance soon. Nick says: "There's a small first-team squad at the minute and with injuries pending who knows when that chance will come? It's just something that you've got to keep working towards and believe it will come." Important Stage Another Everton player who is not certain of what the future holds is Nick Chadwick. After being farmed out last season to Millwall, Chaddy is playing it by ear about the season ahead. Chaddy
says: "I said last year that I’m getting to an important
stage in my career. I’ll see how things go at the start of the season
and how I progress before taking a look at things and deciding what to
do for the best. |
