The worst kept secret since we found out officially that Prince Chuck was carrying on with Camilla is out. Tiny Tim has won another award in his first season with the Blues. After scooping Bluekippers Starman man Award, and the Oceania Football Confederation player of the year, Tiny has now walked off with the Everton OPTA Index Player of the Season. As is the norm on these occasions, Tim will get a years free supply of OPTA's, and also a three night budget stay in any Travel Lodge of his choice, (North West Area only). Tiny says: "Strewth, Fair dinkum' cobber." (19/05/05) How we missed Tiny last night, as Everton were humbled by, I can't even pull myself to say it. Bluekippers Starman for 2004/05 though, was never going to make it last night, after playing through the pain barrier in Saturday's crucial win against the Skunks. Tiny as we know got the all important second goal, to send the Blues Europe bound. Tiny says: "There are pain barriers and you have to play through them because you don’t want to miss games like that. That is what playing at this level is all about and you want to play in the games. To be honest you forget the pain in your back as soon as you start playing. I can’t describe what you go through when you score in the Premiership - I was on a yellow card against Newcastle and I even thought about taking my top off." (12/05/05) Steve Watson has headed praise onto the Blue Kipper Star Man of the season and Everton's leading scorer. Wato says: "Tim has been brilliant from day one, great around the place and very enthusiastic. We're better when he is around and Mikel has added something else to us." (10/05/05) The Fans & The Players Deserve It Tiny has enjoyed his first season at Everton. He is full of praise for the fans and his team mates. Tim
says: “We have been fourth since September and it is what we
deserve. Some people forget that. It is not just about today it is about
everything this season. It is satisfying because it means so much. Every
time we have been asked to make a step up we have, regardless of the criticism
we have had from other managers, players and football clubs. We don’t
care what others say it is all about us. First and foremost I want to be part of Everton Football Club and now I want to do well in Europe. The pinnacle for me was playing here in the Premiership but playing in Europe and the Champions League is a whole different story. The fans reaction week in – week out has been fantastic. It just doesn’t get any better than this. The best thing about these fans is as long as you work hard, even if you have a bad game, it means a lot to them and it means a lot to us from fans to understand football. I have said many times before that it is special just playing at a club like this who can, and have, achieved so much. We play to win and it is rare a manger gets a group of lads who will run through brick walls for him regardless of the situation. There are a lot of the boys who are out of contract and are playing for their futures and it is tense for them. But they have produced and everyone is now just looking forward to next season.” (08/05/05) Tim Cahill has won Everton's OPTA Player of the Month for April. Tiny Tim who has also won Bluekipper's Starman of 2004/05 (pictures of evening to follow), has been a revelation for the Blues not just in April but all season. Tiny pipped Davey Weir and Mikky Arteta to the monthly award. As normal Tiny has won a years supply of Heinz Baked Beans, and has been entered in the overall prize for a weekend at Pontins to meet some of the greatest characters in Neighbours history. (05/05/05) Tiny has improved dramatically over the last 24 hours. He has an outside chance of playing against Newcastle. Moyesy says: "Tim went for a scan after the game at Fulham and he was very sore. At that stage it looked as if he would be out for the rest of the season, but we are more optimistic now. He has pulled some ligaments at the base of his back but it is not quite as bad as we first feared. We are hoping it will clear up quickly. There are only three games to go so we may ask people to take risks if they are not 100% but we won't ask Tim to do that because he has played so much football in the last 12 months. It is unlikely for the weekend but things are looking much better now than they were on Saturday." (04/05/05) Everton physio Basil Rathbone, is baffled as to how Tiny Tim picked up his back injury in the defeat at Fulham. Tiny left the pitch in the tenth minute, and was believed to be in some discomfort on the journey back to Merseyside. Basil will assess Tiny this week, to see if he will be fit to play against Newcastle this weekend. Work your magic Baz. Basil says: "To be honest we don’t really know and we have looked at it on the video about 50 times. Tim doesn’t really know what’s happened. We are not sure if their player has just caught him in the back and bruised him or he has pulled something in his lower back/hip. It is very sore at the moment and for that reason we can’t really poke around too much. We will look at him tomorrow at Bellefield and have a much better idea what we will do – whether we need a scan or x-ray or if we need to do nothing." (02/05/05) Tiny Tim is fit and raring to go according to Super Sleuth come Club Physio Basil Rathbone. Tiny who was chucking up at half time in the Man ure game, has been been given the all clear, after carrying a virus for the last few weeks. Basil says: " We wanted to make sure that Tim was okay, as he’d been suffering from a virus, which reached its peak after the Manchester United game. Tim is the type of player who would play no matter what, so we wanted to make sure that he was okay and so we gave him a very vigorous fitness test. We had to make sure that his heart rate was okay after exercise, that he wasn’t suffering shortness of breath and he came through it okay. He’s fully recovered now and I’m not anticipating any further problems. " (28/04/05) David Moyes heaped praise on Tiny Tim comparing him to the Premiership's best player Frank Lampard. Moyesy says: "Tim would run Frank Lampard close as a goalscoring midfield player. When we signed him we knew that was something he would offer us, but he has given us so much more because he is such a good, all-round footballer.” (16/04/05) Where does he get his energy from? Tiny Tim put in another match winning performance to keep us in with a great chance of the Champions League. Tiny says: "We know now that it is there for us to take, and we aim to take it. We are now in the box seat, a great position, so we must keep this going and win the next one, that's the target. Getting two goals was fantastic but the main thing was getting the win after Liverpool's slip up the day before. "It was a fine performance and even better because there was a lot of pressure on us after losing three on the trot. We had to win to take advantage of Liverpool's defeat because had we not it would have given them the confidence they could catch us next time out."(12/04/05) Tiny is back at Bellefield this morrning. Although he's knacked from flying from the other side of the world. He will be fit to play against WBA on Sunday. Australia coach Frank Farina left Cahill on the bench for the 3-0 win in a friendly with Indonesia. Thanks Frank. (30/03/05) Tiny Tim, the Blue Kangaroo's form in March was the bright point in an otherwise poor month for the boys. It was enough to reward the Aussie International with the OPTA Index Player of the Month for March, and more and more he is looking like the Player of the Year, by the proverbial street. As is normal in these situations, Tiny can pick a prize of his choice. He has stumped for the back edition of every Neighbours episode since 1986. It includes the fantastic wedding sequence, featuring Kylie and Jason. He is also entered into the overall draw with the likes of Nige, Leon, and Harry Hill for a dream trip to Pontins in Ainsdale, for an Alvin Stardust weekend, of fun and songs. (28/03/05) Tim Cahill missed the start of his first Premiership season with Everton, as he was playing for Australia in the Olympics. Now while most of the Everton lads are having a rest ready for the run in, Tim is now in Sydney preparing for Australia's friendly against Iraq on Saturday. When Everton's season finishes in May, Cahill will again be playing for his Country. This time in the Confederations Cup, which begins in Germany on 15th June with the final on 29th June; just a week before pre-season training begins at Bellefield for the 2005/06 season. A
full year getting paid for playing football all around the world. Sounds
great. Moyesy isn't too impressed. He has made a great start for us but I fear the season has been too long for him now. On top of that he's got a lot of international games to come this summer and I fear it could all take its toll and have a major impact on him next season. He could do with a good rest this summer, especially after coming into his first season in the Premiership straight from the Olympic Games. I think some national teams should start to take these things into consideration. In the long term it does not only affect the clubs but the countries too." (23/03/05) bluekipper.com star man at the derby is still being positive regarding the rest of the season. Tim says: “We’re still fourth, I’m not worried. We’ve worked hard all season and we’re four points clear so we’ve just got to be positive. Anfield isn’t an easy place to go to and get points. I think people have got to understand that we’re still four points clear and they’ve got to come and get us. We’re still in a very positive position, so other people might be worried but not us. The table doesn’t lie, we’re still in fourth and I think the best thing for us is just to stay positive. There’s an international break now so all the lads can rest up and look forward to the West Brom game.” (22/03/05) Timmy, Timmy, Timmy The Blue Kangaroo. Congratulations on The Oceania Football Confederation player of the year for 2004. OFC General Secretary Tai Nicholas says: "Tim has had a wonderful season and is a deserved winner of the OFC player of the year award. He is unique in that he has played for two Oceania nations, Western Samoa and Australia at various levels. It was a fabulous year for Tim scoring the winner in an FA Cup semi-final (for Millwall last season) which has catapulted his career to the next level. He has certainly served as a fantastic role model not just for youngsters in Australia but also in Samoa."(17/03/05) Modest Aussie Tiny Tim is heaping praise on his team mates, after he took all the plaudits in Saturday's impressive away victory at Villa. Take it away Tim: Tiny says: "That definitely will go down as the best performance of the season. I suppose we can take a lot of positives from the game because there was a lot of pressure on us to get a result. We went to Villa Park, we were strong and we took it to them. It just goes to show how far we’ve come and how well we’ve played and if it stays like this it’s why you play football - it’s fantastic. We were very organised and difficult to break down. A lot of the lads worked very hard. I think we’ve been difficult to break down all season and it was important that we bounced back from some poor results of late. It’s great to be on the winning team. You can say that we’re thriving on the pressure at the moment but we’ve really got no choice. If you want yourself up there knocking about with the big boys then you’ve got to play well. If you play well and give yourself a chance then fair enough but if it’s not enough then it’s not enough. All we know is that we’re very honest lads and we work hard for each other. I suppose it was just one of those days on Saturday when everything falls for you. On other days that doesn’t happen and I’m just happy to be on the winning team. The win puts pressure on other teams but we just have to take it one game at a time and get the most we can out of it. Next week we’ve got Blackburn and again we’ll be playing for a result. I’ve had a rest, the gaffer’s looked after me as well as the physios and I appreciate that. There’s no better way for me to repay the staff and the fans than playing well. I am currently loving it. Who wouldn’t enjoy playing in the Premier League? It’s a different step up from the First Division and when you play in big stadiums like Villa Park it’s an absolute pleasure to be a part of it." (28/02/05) The players, the management and the fans have missed our little Austrailian action man and can't wait for him to return on Saturday. David Moyes says:"It shows how much he has improved in that we are talking about really missing a player we picked up from the lower leagues." Killa Kilbane says:"Tim has been great for us this season. He makes himself a nuisance for us in the middle of the park and he has been one of the key players for us throughout the year. He was great over the Christmas period when we were getting a bit jaded. Tim was the one player who sparked us off and helped us kick-on by getting forward and scoring goals. I would rather have had Tim missing for the cup game than the league game, because the league is so important for us." Swiss Tony sings:" Timmy, Timmy, Timmy the Blue Kangaroo." (23/02/05) Having already scored 5 goals, Tim will get forward more now that Tommy Gravesen has gone. Tim says: “Now that Tommy has gone my role within the midfield has changed a bit. It’s given me the licence to get forward a bit more. Tommy’s a massive loss, as he was a great player, but he’s gone to a big club and I’d like to wish him all the best. But his transfer has given someone a great opportunity to make a name for themselves. I like to get forward anyway, whether Tommy was in the side or not. I like to get into goalscoring positions, whether or not I get the goals, it’s all about winning and getting the points that matter - the points that could take us to a Champions League spot. Hopefully, on Saturday we’ll get another win. (21/01/05) All We Are Saying Is Give Us A Goal Tiny scored his first Everton goal against our Boxing Day opponents, Man City. He was then promptly sent off for the infamous shirt over the head celebrations. Moyesy is hoping he can get back to his scoring ways soon. Moyesy says: “Tim may not have scored for a while, but with the exception of the game at Blackburn, he has had opportunities in every match recently. He has had chances against Liverpool, Bolton and Newcastle, and it shows that he is still a real threat. The thing is, it just hasn’t gone for him. I am looking for him to take a few more of those chances. Tim may not have scored, but you can see he’s still getting there, and he has still been great for us.” (24/12/04) He may have only been here a few short months, but Tiny knows what it is like to be a Blue a few days after turning the shite over. With the lads now in second position, Tiny reckons that we are there to stay. It is the media who are playing Everton down, the belief in the camp is as high as ever. Tiny says: "There’s always a feeling we can keep it going. I think everyone is waiting for the bubble to burst but that’s not from us, that’s the media. We’re very confident, but we’re not going to get ahead of ourselves, we’re just going to worry about the next game. You work so hard to get results like this. It’s a massive game for everyone involved in the club, the players, the staff, but especially the fans - they deserve something like this. They’ve been through the highs and lows and at the moment it’s a high." (13/12/04) Tiny is playing down all the talk of European football coming to Goodison, as he would rather focus on the next game. Tiny who is on four yellow cards, is walking a tightrope in trying to make the shite game next weekend. The only plus point is there will be nobody on the pitch to gob on him, and incite him into twatting a stupid Senegalese prick. Tiny says: "The best thing for us to do is to avoid shooting ourselves in the foot by saying we are going to do this or that. We shouldn't really be talking about things like Europe. And from my personal point of view, I am still new to the Premiership, I am a little fish in a big pond and I don't want to get ahead of myself. Personally, I am not even thinking about the Liverpool game yet. As players, we can only look week to week because anything could be around the corner. The best moments are now and we would rather enjoy everything that is happening right now rather than put pressure on ourselves by saying we have got to achieve a certain target." (03/12/04) Tiny Tim, Everton's big Summer signing is loving every minute of his time at Goodison. While players left, right and centre gave the Blues a side step, Tiny had no doubts about joining one of the Premiership big boys. What a decision the Aussie International made, as he is one of the driving forces behind Everton's fantastic start to the season. Here we go again, 3rd 3rd, 3rd 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd. Tiny says: "You could say that I wasn’t expecting to be third in the League when I joined Everton, but my main objective was just to be part of the squad and to be involved. When I got my chance I wanted to take it, now I’ve taken it and we seem to be getting great results. The team seems to be coming together well and we really work for each other. The main thing now is to keep it going and it doesn’t matter if you win 1-0 or 4-0, as long as you get the three points. We’re pushing strong and everywhere we go people see us as a threat so as long as we can keep that going it looks good for the rest of the season. It’s best to keep our feet on the ground; the gaffer’s done that well with all the lads so we’re not getting carried away. Every weekend we’re going to enjoy getting results and enjoy being where we are. I suppose there’s ups and down with fans all over the world at every football club. But now we’re on the up and they should enjoy it. They had a pretty rocky ride last season - I wasn’t here so I don’t know too much about it, but it’s now forgotten, it’s in the past. It’s great to be a part of a great squad." (22/11/04) Tiny Tim has joined Moyesy in believing that Everton are going to stay near the top of the premiership, despite the defeat at Chelsea. Tim says: "We are not third for no reason. Some people are still expecting us to go south but we won't because we know how to exploit teams. The manager does his homework with lots of videos and tactical talks. We have no star players now that Wayne has gone but we are all one big unit with a lot of lads who work very hard. But we believe we can go to places like Chelsea and get a result. Hopefully we will have gained respect by the way we rattled Chelsea but we still came away with nothing to show for all our efforts. Now we need to get goals and make sure we hurt teams. Chelsea are nicking 1-0s and it is taking them up the table." (08/11/04) New Boy Tim Cahill is surprised at the start Everton have had this season. Tiny points out, that he was warned off joining the Blues, as they were sure fire relegation fodder. Oh, Tim them phone calls back to your mates, must be fuckin' hilarious, rub it in, really rub it in to them. Tiny says: "There is an element of surprise in what we’ve done so far. People told me not to sign because Everton were going to be relegated! But I didn’t think so – and I did have options. There are a lot of big team players here and they are all enjoying proving to themselves that we can prove the critics wrong. The best, and the simplest thing we have done has been work hard for each other, got behind the ball and made it difficult to lose." (26/10/04) Tiny believes hard work and discipline is the way forward and the team must not get complacent and just keep on picking up the points. Tim says: “ I think as long as you are doing well and just picking up points here and there and not being too complacent then I think that’s the best way to look at it. The biggest thing that I’ve seen here since I arrived , not only on the pitch but off the pitch as well is the discipline, and the way everyone carries themselves. Everyone is down to earth but when it comes to working they work very hard. It’s good to be a part of it." (19/10/04) Tim Cahill who look likes winning his fitness battle for this weekends clash against Southampton, is also delighting his manager Davey Moyes. Moyesy is over the moon, at the way Tiny has settled into the pace of the Premiership, after stepping up from the old First Division. Moyesy says: "Tim may have spent a good few years in the lower leagues with Millwall but I think the step up has come naturally to him. Even though we don't have a big squad he has got into the team earlier than we planned. The way we have been playing has suited him and after coming in so well at Manchester United he hasn't looked out of place once. Obviously scoring a few winning goals has helped him settle in but he has contributed more than that. He is a great character who is really well liked but he's also a very tough boy who you don't take liberties with. That is always a good trait in a player and we hope it continues." (14/10/04) Tiny Tim is still touch and go for this weekend Premier League clash against Southampton. Tiny who was assaulted against Spurs over a week ago now, had to pull out of Australia's International against The Solomon Islands. According to Everton physio Basil Rathbone, Tim has a 50/50 chance of making it. Work your magic Basil. Basil says: "We are all mighty relieved that there is no major damage in view of the fact Tim underwent Anterior Cruciate Ligament repair surgery about three years ago on his right knee. He is making reasonable progress, the swelling is starting to go down and he has been able to take part in some very light training. The knee is still very sore and at this stage it is still too early to say if he will be available for us for the game against Southampton." (11/10/04) Good news for Moyesy in the fact their has been no serious damage to Tim's knee. Results show, that the knee is still intact, but never the less, Tim took a hefty whack, and he will need all of the next two weeks to get it right, for Southampton. Perpetrator Jamie Red shite has been charged with dangerous play, and if found guilty will be sent to the Tower with hopefully a three game ban. Guilty Graham Poll should also be dragged over the coals, but don't hold your breath. Shit 'ed. Basil says:"Tim had a series of scans and x-rays on Sunday and Monday and they have come back all clear in as much that none of the major structures have been affected. However, he still has an extremely sore swollen knee and at this moment in time it is too early to say whether he will be fit for our next game." (04/10/04) It was a double disappointment for Tiny Tim on Saturday, after his long awaited home debut. Firstly the defeat, after some good away wins, and secondly Tim's injury caused by the cowardly ex red shite Jamie fuck face. Tim has now accepted the groveling apology by the ex red prick, after fucking him off on the pitch when he came over to shake his hand, after the assault. Hopefully the news on his injury will not be too bad, and the two week International break, might give him enough recovery time. Fingers crossed. Gentleman Tim says: "Jamie is a nice lad and it is uncharacteristic of him but he has caught me quite hard on the knee and the knee has just buckled. It looked very serious but hopefully I will be alright. It is just one of those things and I have been a bit unlucky. I
will have a scan in the next couple of days, I’m on crutches as a precaution
but it is still a bit numb at the moment. I spoke to Jamie earlier and
he sent his apologies and I just have to accept it. I am not happy about
what happened but I have accepted his apology and I have to get on with
it. I can only apologise to him, I’ve been on the receiving end of being on the treatment table enough in my career and I wouldn't do that to him. He’s a very good player and I feel bad about it but there was absolutely no intention at all, it’s not my game. I’ve spoken to Tim, I went to apologise to him, because there was no maliciousness in it but obviously I still thought that if I was in his position I would like someone to come and see me." (04/10/04) Tim won't be flying to Australia after all. He has withdrawn due to a leg injury caused by a disgraceful tackle by Redknapp in yesterday's Spurs game. Moyesy says: “He won’t be able to go with Australia. He’s got an injury, but we’re not exactly sure what it is yet. His leg has a severe wobble, whether it is his ligaments, whether it is his shin, we will have to wait and see. Tim will be reporting to the medical team at Bellefield on Sunday morning and after that we will have a better idea of what the problem is.” (03/10/04) Moyesy's preparations for the Southampton game in a few weeks will be put on hold, as Tim Cahill will be completing the last leg of a 40,000 mile round trip to play for his country. At least Moyesy will have the consolation of dipping into his extremely experienced large squad, to find a replacement for Tim if he comes home knackered. In other words Grav will be starting. Moyesy says: "There will be a lot of travelling involved. He leaves soon after the Tottenham game and is only back a few days before the game with Southampton. It is something for us to consider." (30/09/04) Moyesy's decision to raid Millwall for Tim Cahill, seems to be paying dividends. With Tim scoring his second goal, of his short Everton career, it has Moyesy's smiling more week by week. On down side to Moyesy's comments is that Tim reminds the Everton boss of ex shit 'ed John Wark. Tim as we speak is contacting his legal team, and agent, as in his contract it did not state that he had to have unkempt hair, and the worst moustache in moustache history. Moyesy says: "When I took him he was one of the best players in the First Division and I said that it was a chance for him to prove that he was a Premiership player. I think he’s done that because he’s now won us two games. He reminds me of John Wark. He used to score a lot of goals and if Tim can score as many as him he won’t be doing too badly." Tim says: "It’s good to be playing and scoring’s just a bonus. We’re getting together well as a group, there’s great discipline and it’s good to see from the lads and it’s showing us how to get results." (27/09/04) Tim Cahill believes his team mates are capable of getting a result in every game they play in. Tim who is back in the squad for Sunday's trip to Pompey is another player on a high. Fuck I hope it continues, because the missus likes the new me, had a smile on my face for weeks now. Timbo says: "I’m a firm believer in the winning habit. Everyone likes to win, it keeps the buzz around the camp and when you’re losing, it’s not a good feeling, whether it’s the league or the Cup or whether you’re a Premiership or non-league side. It’s always good to win. It sends out vibes to the team, the supporters and you find that once you get a couple of wins under your belt other wins start to come. That’s due to your confidence and self-belief." (24/09/04) Will he, won't he, well its definite, he won't be playing. Moyesy was still hopeful on Friday that Steve Bennett would see sense and overturn his outrageous decision from last week. Moyesy though disappointed that Skippy won't be playing, will have to do with The Grav coming into the fray, for today's clash against Boro'. Moyesy says: "I'm disappointed that Tim won't be available because he has started his career here well and scored a good goal last week. We have other players who are fit and ready to play and who are in good form. It's disappointing that Tim remains suspended, but we are having to deal with that." (19/09/04) Tim Cahill may yet still make his debut for the Blues this weekend. After yesterdays decision by referee Steve Bennett, that he would not rescind his second yellow of Tim's, Moyesy has confirmed that dialogue has been taking place between the club and the The Referee's Association. Watch this space, as wouldn't it be nice if for once, they admitted that they had fucked up. Moyesy says: "I’m hopeful that something can still be sorted but as it stands everybody’s in agreement that it shouldn’t constitute a booking. The Referees Association know exactly what was said to them regarding referees using common sense. The only word which is missing in this situation is common sense." (15/09/04) Tim Cahill will have to sit out this weekend's home clash against Boro, due to the heinous crime of pulling his shirt up at the weekend. Match referee Steve Bennett, refused to admit he dropped a bollock and rescind the Aussie midfielders second yellow, even though FIFA Top Dog Sepp Blatter, backed the Blues midfielder. Bennett was unavailable for comment, as he was in discussions with his wife, as she had accidentally left the washing out in the rain. He was consulting his solicitor as what steps to take against her. Prick Everton Secretary Dave Harrison says: "We are extremely disappointed that it appears no common sense can be applied in this particular case. How can Keith Hackett issue instructions and then his officials not carry them out and how can we be asked to co-operate? We are trying to run a professional football club and yet the information and guidelines we are receiving from the PGMOB are far from professional. The referee refuses to change his decision because he insists he was applying the regulations put in place by FIFA. We did not dispute that. Everton’s dispute is with what we were told at the PGMOB meeting in the summer." (14/09/04) Whilst the powers that be argue the rights and wrongs of Timbo's sending off on Saturday, Timbo himself feels the winning goal he scored will start to repay his debt to Everton. Timbo who must be doing something right, keeping The Grav out, is delighted to be part of the first team set up. Keep it up Skippy. Timbo says: "It is just the start of what I've got to repay the club and the lads. What a great cross by Tony Hibbert! The ball was played to Benty, he took it down, Hibbo made a run and I just peeled on to the far post, behind the centre back. The ball came across, all I had was to guide the ball down. It was a great feeling to get off the mark. I've always scored goals in my career in the Second and First Divisions, but to get a goal in my second game on a such a big stage obviously means a lot. I got told the story of what happened at the City of Manchester Stadium last season in training and how embarrased it left the lads, the team and the fans. But we went there to put things right - and we did. We're looking a lot more disciplined. It started at Manchester United last week. We can play football, wear teams down and then nick the odd goal. The formation is working well; I think the gaffer has got it down to a 'T. We don't need to set many targets - we just need to win as many games as possible. You just have to go out on to the pitch and give your best. If your all isn't good enough, well, sometimes you just have to accept that. At the moment, our all is getting the results. We just have to enjoy them and keep moving forward as a team. We're really confident. People were writing us off at the start of the season and we've reacted against that." (13/09/04) No
lesser mortal than the President of FIFA, Mr Sepp Blatter, has added his
considerable weight to the support of Tim Cahill and the nonsensical sending
off of our Scouse Aussie at Man City yesterday. Getting Shirty Cahill was sent off after a second yellow card for lifting his shirt over his head, displaying his six pack, as part of his celebration at scoring Everton's winner at Man City. Tim says: “I am feeling strange at the moment but these things happen in football. I honestly didn’t know the rules and I will have to get the rulebook out later tonight but other than that we have to be happy with what has happened. I was a bit gutted to leave the lads with 10 men and it could have been a different story but I am just happy we got three points and this is a hard place to come to get a result. I suppose if that’s the rule then that’s the rule and I have to deal with it. I didn’t actually take my shirt off. The goals I scored with Millwall last season I always put my shirt over my head and the FA Cup semi-final I took my shirt off. It just baffles me in a way but it one of those things that if you don’t know, you don’t know. Referees could use a bit of common sense but then the referee could lose his job, so I understand from his point of view. But it is such a comical situation that he could be right, I could be right. It is something that we maybe could ask the referee to look at again or I will have to accept it and that is why we are called professionals. This is probably the most awkward thing I have had to deal with in my career but it has worked out well for the team, we have got three points and that’s all that matters.” (12/09/04) Everton new boy Tim Cahill was delighted with his Premiership debut, against United at Old Trafford. Tim or Tim to his mates, was handed his dream start, after the Grav picked up an injury against The Baggies on Saturday. Tim could not contain his delight, as he let no one down. Tim says: " The biggest thing for me was being a part of the squad but actually being named to start was amazing. I had the opportunity to go out there and not be overwhelmed by the big stage, make my debut and make quite a good one. I’m very happy that I got my chance and I’ll be looking forward to getting many more. A
lot of people would say that Old Trafford is a difficult place to come
to make a debut but I think if you can’t play there then you can’t really
play anywhere. Old Trafford is one of the best stadiums and Manchester
United are one of the best teams in the world, so to have an opportunity
to play was something that I was really looking forward to. Timbo joined in his first training session today and can't wait to get started. His debut maybe at Old Trafford next week, as he is suspended for the home game against West Brom. Moyesy says: “A fresh face brings life into the squad. We’ve been short of players and obviously we’re already beginning to get one or two people suffering from a few knocks so it will be helpful that he’s around the place, albeit he’s suspended for the next game. Tim says: "I suppose it's been a long month, having signed and then going straight out to Olympics. But I am glad that I am here now and I can't wait to get amongst the lads." (25/08/04) Everton new boy is returning from the Athens Olympics after his bid for gold was ended. Tim who was competing in the synchronized diving event, was disqualified for bombing. It will be hopefully at Old Trafford that Everton fans will get their first glimpse of Tim, as he is still carrying a three game suspension over from last season. (23/08/04) Olympic Goal Tim scored Australia's 1st goal in a 5-1 win over Serbia and Montenegro in The Olympics in Greece. (14/08/04) New boy Tim Cahill has thanked Everton for their treatment in allowing him to represent his country in the forthcoming Olympics. He has praised Moyesy for the treatment he has received since joining the Blues, and he is ready for the battle ahead to secure a place in the Blues starting line up. We say shrewd move Moyesy, as Timbo is banned for the first three games anyway, so it will give him some badly needed competitive action. Timbo says: "He just told me to go and enjoy myself and do your country proud. It is going to be a massive learning curve for me playing in the Premier League. I can't expect too much on my return from the Olympics, and just look to be in the squad and work my way up. These are very exciting times for me and it's just amazing what has happened." (29/07/04) Tim has signed a four year deal and he can't wait to get going. He has heaped praise on the fans and the support is one of the main reasons for him joining us. Good luck Tiny.(to his mates) Tim says: " It's an absolute dream for me. The manager and the Chairman have been fantastic. They've told me about their ambitions, and their visions for the club match my own. I want to show Everton fans that I am an honest player. I will work for the full 90 and I will give everything, regardless of whether we're winning 2-0 or losing 2-0. "I watched the club last season finish so low in the Premiership table, I know there are a few problems, but to still have the support they have week in, week out is enough passion to drive any team forward and that's the reason why Everton will always be a strong club and will go on to bigger and better things. That's the reason why I want to be here." (23/07/04) Nick Chadwick reckons we have got a special player in Tim Cahill. Chaddy spent three months last season while on loan with Millwall. Chaddy says: "Tim gets forward and scores goals from midfield which is perhaps something that we've been lacking over the last couple of years. Without putting pressure on him, I think he'll do well. He's very direct and there are no heirs and graces about the way he plays. He'll certainly put a tackle in, he'll run all day and he'll get on the end of things." (23/07/04) |
