Winning Start

Yosser Hughes made a winning start to his football League career last night, as his new loan club Stockport County turned over Rochdale 3-0 to lift themselves off the bottom of the Football League. Yosser made a big impact on his new boss Jim Gannon, who only had praise for his back four.

Stockport Boss Jim Gannon says: "I can't praise the lads highly enough. They've worked really hard. The defence deserved a clean sheet." (15/02/06)

You Don't Know What's Round The Corner

After meeting and training with his new team mates today, Yozzer was looking forward to putting on the blue shirt. This time for Stockport. Whether he plays his first game against Rochdale on Tuesday night or waits until Saturday's game against Bristol Rovers remains to be seen.

Yozzer says: "I'm looking forward to it. I got the chance to join County on Friday and I'm made up. I'm really looking forward to my time here because I need to stop playing reserve games and start playing first team football which I'm looking forward to. I trained with the lads today and spoke to Jim Gannon who appears to be a really good fella who knows what he's doing. He was also a defender as well so he knows what he's talking about which can only help me. One of the reasons why I'm here is because County wear blue shirts. Hopefully I can help us get some clean sheets.

I don't know too many of the Stockport lads, but I've known Michael Symes for a while from our time together at Everton, and he's been showing me around. It definitely helps having a familiar face about the place. I've been wanting to get some loan experience for a while now and it was a bit frustrating seeing the likes of Laurence Wilson, Paul Hopkins, John Ruddy and Iain Turner getting out and getting some experience. It's a vital part of the learning curve - playing league football alongside and against experienced players. What's happened to John and Iain in the last couple of weeks shows just how quickly things can change in football and you never know what's around the corner." (13/01/06)

Month's Loan To Stockport

Now that Joey is back and Ferrari is fit again, Everton have allowed Yozzer to go to Stockport on loan for a month to get some much needed match practice. (12/01/06)

Watching Moyes Impressed

With manager David Moyes and his assistant Alan Irvine watching, reserve team skipper, Mark Hughes picked a great time to have his best game of the season. Mark was outstanding in the 2-2 draw with Man City and was picked out for praise by coach Andy Holden.

Andy Holden says: "Man City had a large share of the possession but there were some good points, I thought Mark Hughes at the back was excellent and was a colossus at times and I thought he held us together at times." (16/11/05)

On Tour

Mark has been on pre-season tour with the first team to Thailand. Although he never played, he was on the bench for the games against Man City and Thailand XI. (23/07/06)
