35. Paul Hopkins

Hoko Returns

Hoko is back at Bellefield after Darlington manager David Hodgson decided not to extend his loan deal for a further month. Darlington signed Guy Bates until the end of the season. Paul got some much needed games under his belt. (06/02/06)

Hoko Scores

Hoko has scored his first league goal for Darlington in only his second game. He netted in a 2-1 against Peterborough on Saturday.

Darlington boss David Hodgson says:
"I'm delighted for our young strikers because they were having little joy for a long time but scored when it mattered." (15/01/06)

Debut

Hoko made his debut for Darlington on Saturday in a 3-2 defeat against Notts County and manager Dave Hodgson was happy. Paul was close to scoring, hitting the post with a header.

Hodgson says: “He got his timing right, he perhaps could have done with an extra inch and he could have guided it as opposed to flicking it. I would have loved that to have gone in for him and then obviously the rest of the players think ‘hang on we’ve got two kids who are capable of scoring’.” (10/01/06)

Hoko Off To Darlington

A month in Darlington. Thank God he's got some football to play. Hoko is at the league two club to gain some match experience. He could start his first game today against Notts County. (06/01/06)

First Season

Paul is in his first season in the first team squad, although it's thought he will play all season in the reserves. He signed his first professional contract contract in February 2005. (18/08/05)
