Barney is back at Bellefield from his loan spell at Bournemouth. Moyesy called the midfielder back due to Tim Cahill being injured for the season. This maybe the chance the youngster needs to have a few games for the first team. (06/03/07) Barney scored his first goal while on loan in Bournemouth's win over Oldham. Bjarni says: “It was my first league goal so I am happy. It was also a good win and it helps us to climb up the table. The goal started from an Oldham corner, our defence headed the ball forward and we attacked two against two. I received the ball, took one touch and planted it in the corner. I will probably train with Everton tomorrow, maybe I will know something by then. I would have to think twice about returning to Bournemouth for another spell because it is very tiring staying at a hotel for such a long period, but that is something I just have to deal with.” (25/02/07) Barney is off to the South coast for a month, as he's joining Bournemouth, the team he scored against in Everton's friendly game last month. Bjarni says: "I have spoken with Kevin Bond a few times on the phone, and this deal looks good to me. They are in a relegation battle at the moment, but hopefully I can help to turn that around." (05/02/07) Barney scored his first goal for the Everton first team in a friendly with Bournemouth, which Moyesy may reward by giving him a loan deal somewhere. Moyesy says: “He did very well and can be pleased with himself. He’s a good footballer and he is capable of getting you a goal from midfield. It might be time for him to go somewhere on loan. I don’t know where that would be but we’ll assess the options and make a decision when we need to.” (28/01/07) |
