Andy hopes his display for the rezzies during the week will get him back in the manager's good books and hopes to feature sometime in this weeks game against United. Shandy says: "I felt alright, I got a little bit tired towards the end but it was okay. It is always difficult playing with the reserves because they are young and they don't always want to play football. But I had a few good touches so that was alright. I will just keep training and hope that I am in the team and that the manager can use me. We have a good chance and of course Everton are at home which is always difficult. Everton at home are one of the strongest teams in England. It is not easy to win against us so let them come. It doesn't matter which team comes. It is a difficult game of course, and one that they have to win. Of course we are hoping for Europe next season. We just have to get a few points and it will not be easy but as I said before we keep going because we are Everton. We can make it I think." (27/04/07) Shandy has given an unreserved apology to Moyesy after newspaper articles suggested Moyesy had lied over the players fitness. Shandy has put the record straight, to his Manager, his team mates, and the fans. He still wants to be a part of the Blues revolution, but me thinks his apology may be to little to late. Shandy says: "I would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologise to the manager, the coaching staff and my team-mates for the way things have developed in recent weeks. There have been some newspaper articles and stories that have been embarrassing for me and I would like to put the record straight. I was quoted as saying that David Moyes said one thing to me and a different thing to the press. I acknowledge that that is simply not true and I am sorry for the confusion and offence the comments caused. I would like to stress that at no point has the manager been anything less that 100% truthful towards me. If I have been fit and not selected for the team then I just have to accept it as part and parcel of football. I have had problems since arriving at Everton, both on and off the pitch, but I still feel that I can contribute something to the team between now and the end of the season. This is a wonderful football club that deserves to qualify for Europe and the best way I can repay everyone here is to do my best to help make it happen. It would be a nice way to thank the Everton fans who have treated me so well and been so supportive from the day I arrived." (07/04/07) Moyesy has refuted claims that he said Shandy had an injury leading up to the Arse victory, and to rub salt into Shandy's wounds he said he selected the squad for the match with a view to winning it, which we did. Expect Shandy's agent to be looking for another club this Summer for the misfiring Dutch whinger, sorry winger. Moyesy says: "In the wake of Andy van der Meyde's comments I think it is important that I set the record straight. Andy did not have a knee injury in the days leading up to the game against Arsenal and at no point did I suggest he had. I selected the squad which I believed to be right for that particular game." (30/03/07) Relations between Moyesy and Shandy will surely now hit an all time low after the Dutch winger allegedly called Moyesy a liar for the reasons the Manager gave in not considering him for the recent win over the Arse. Moyesy has been critical of the ex Inter star and his refueling habits, and this could be a signal for a parting of the ways come this Summer. Shandy says: "I was fit. I played a practice match two days before. I wasn't selected, that's the manager's right, but he doesn't have to tell lies. It was total nonsense that I was injured. I was completely fit. The facts are simply that the trainer didn't select me for the group. My situation here isn't easy only playing in home matches. I think the trainer simply has to be honest and tell me why I've got to sit in the stand." (29/03/07) A week ago Shandy was threatening pastures new if his luck did not change, this week the Dutch winger is saying he would love a full season to show the fans what he can do. Deja vu anyone ? Shandy says: "I am pleased with how it is has gone recently. It is a case of keeping fit and playing games. That is difficult sometimes if you get little injuries but it is important to keep playing to be totally fit. My new challenge is to make sure when my name is in stories it is not about something else and it is about football. I cannot show the supporters now the real van der Meyde because at the moment I can only play well for an hour and then the engine needs filling up. That is why I need more games and I know the fans expect a lot of me. I want to give them the best of me but if the tank is empty it is hard. That is why I need more games. Next season is when they will the best of me. I want to get more games now and do my best but I am looking forward to next season when I can start from the beginning and play the whole season rather than missing half. That is what I want to show the fans." (18/02/07) It seems come the Summer Shandy Pants will be on his way back to Italy after he gave Moyesy the ultimatum, play me or I am off. Moyesy is sure to love that, after he gave Andy the hook on the hour mark in yesterdays home win against Blackburn, for another below par performance. In fairness to the Dutch winger his family are still in Italy, and he says that is where his heart is. Arriverderci mate. Shandy says: "If the situation remains this way I will have a big problem. I am in shape but spending my time on the bench or in the stands. I didn't come to England for this. If things don't improve I will ask the club to let me go. Where? That's difficult but my heart is in Italy. It is horrible that we are not living together. If I'm not playing it affects me badly, it does make me feel sick. A couple of months ago I even considered giving up my contract. I thought enough is enough. I have been through a horrible time over here." (11/02/07) Shandy Andy Pandy Vandy Meyde believes he is a couple of games away from being near to his best. Let us hope so. Andy says: "I managed to run at players and try to take them on a bit more against Blackburn, and that is what I do and what I have done throughout my career. But because I have been unlucky with injuries, the supporters have had to wait a long time to see the real Andy van der Meyde.I appreciate the fact that they still believe in me and I now want to give something back to them. I just have to keep on working hard and do some things extra to get my fitness back. "I want to be an important player for Everton and I am on my way now. I think in a couple of games I will be back to what I want to be.(12/01/07) Andy Pandy played his first 90 minutes in a blue shirt since his move from Inter Milan 18 months ago, when he stayed the distance in yesterday's FA Cup defeat against Blackburn. Andy says: "We did not start well but the referee made a few decisions that were debatable. It was not a great result at all. It was a bad performance at home and the third goal was an individual mistake. That made it very difficult for us to win. We made such a flat start that it made it almost impossible for us to win the game. The last week was difficult for us in training. We had a lot of players who were ill and we could see that on the pitch today." (08/01/07) Everton were not the only one that was robbed over the week-end. Shandy Andy Pandy had a something robbed again. That's the reason Andy was missing from the game against Chelski. A Copper says: "Offenders broke into the garage of the property and took two items from within." (18/12/06) Moyesy is pleased with Andy's performances in the last two games, but he wants him to improve his fitness. Moyesy says: "Andy played well last week and it is something which we hoped for when we brought him in; someone to eliminate people and get crosses in the box. He showed that in the game last week but because of injuries and several little things it hasn't quite happened for Andy yet. We are hoping it will do, he has to get his fitness levels much higher than they are at the moment. There is no underestimating his qualities but for nearly three seasons he has played hardly any football. He needs to get back into it and be ready to be playing Saturday after Saturday." (11/12/06) Training Hard David Moyes believes Andy is getting back to full fitness. We all hope that he come good. If he keeps throwing them crosses over like he did against West Ham goals will surely come. Moyesy says:"Andy played very well last week and we were pleased with him. The biggest thing now is getting him to a level fitness so that he can compete for a place every week but the signs have been good and he is working hard."(08/12/06) Andy
Pandy is due to return to training after his ankle injury. This will be
his 27th return since he joined Everton but he has yet to complete 90
minutes for the People's club. The Van has got his mut back and Andy is delighted. Let's hope they had a peaceful night together and Shandy can get on with his footie starting with today. Everton man Ian Ross says "Andy is delighted to have Mac back and Mac is apparently delighted to be back. Andy was distraught at the theft of his dog, as any pet owner will understand, and the smile is now back on his face."(19/08/06) Andy's a bit cheesed off at the mo. He just wants his football back and play dog for Everton. He will give a big reward if he gets his dog back. I hope Moyesy plays the Van on Saturday, it might be just what he needs to get his Everton career on the right track. Andy says:"I just want my dog back - there is a big reward for anybody who sees the dog and brings him back to me. I just want him back." "There can't be more things to happen to me so I have to be strong and think about the football because the season starts on Saturday. Everybody is off today but I have come in to train - I like Everton, the supporters - I want to stay here. I feel good at Everton, I like the training, the teammates and the way we play."(16/08/06) When its not your week, its not your week. After Andy Van's unfortunate mid week piss up being brought to the attention of everyone, it now comes to light that his house on the Wirral was burgled whilst he was pulling on the Royal Blue against Athletic Bilbao last Saturday. Andy's Ferrari, Mini Cooper, and most importantly his prized dog all went for a walk on Saturday afternoon. The Ferrari was found abandoned in Norris Green, but it is the dog that Andy is pining for most. The dog is a seven-month-old Dogue de Bordeaux, Mac - the breed made famous by the Tom Hanks film, Turner and Hooch. So if any of your mates turn up with one, or their house is covered in dog flem please contact the fuzz at Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111. (15/08/06) After Moyesy's to put it mildly bollicking over Shandy's antics last week, the Dutch winger has come on the offensive saying that he can't wait to go for the Blues this season. Last chance saloon Andy, and as they say.......'Action's speak louder than words.' Shandy says: "It was good to finally get back on the pitch and back to football - it has been a long time. I had a good feeling and I hope to take it to the next game. I felt my normal self in the two days before the game. Before that I was still a bit dizzy. I cannot wait to start and I am happy the season starts next week so we can get back into a rhythm and a routine. That is what I am used to and it is nice to have that back again, playing and training every week. I feel 200 per cent now and you are going to see the best of me again." (14/08/06) Shandy Andy came on in the second half of Howard Kendall's testimonial and showed what he could do by turning the full back inside out a few times and put over a couple of good crosses. That was only after being on for 18 minutes. He's obviously a talented player, but he's on his last chance. Moyesy says: "It will be his last chance. If I hear of him stepping out of line again, there will not be another opportunity for him. We like players to enjoy themselves here and we make sure they do. But it's at the right time and when it suits Everton. That's why you have a contract and why you agree to club rules. You agree to the things expected of a professional footballer. If Andy doesn't fit into that, I'm sorry, but it won't work for him. I would say, though, that he's a good lad, very remorseful and he's determined to show that he can play for Everton. That's what I want him to do. There's a talent and a pedigree there and we want him to succeed. We really do." (13/08/06) Shandy has been hit with a fine for being on the ale on Sunday night. David Moyes says:I have spoken with Andy and he is sorry for what has happened. He will be fined because he should not have been out (on Sunday) but that is the end of the matter." (10/08/06) Baby Blue Bar has confirmed that Andy was at their premises on Sunday night. Baby Blue says:"We can confirm that Mr Van der Meyde was present in Baby Blue on Sunday. It is well know that BB is a haven for the North West's celebrities. However, we also respect the privacy of all members and guests who frequent Baby Blue and therefore do not comment on any allegation or behaviour, good otherwise, involving our guests. Naturally, we are keen to hear further news as to where this alleged incident took place. Irrespective of this, we wish Mr Van der Meyde a quick recovery."(08/08/06) Andy has spent the night in hospital after he has had his drinks spiked while he was bevvying with his partner in the Albert Dock bars last night. Everton have confirmed that he spent the night in Arrowe Park, but are not prepared to say anything until they have more facts Trouble seems to follow Andy around. He isn't helping himself being out in town while trying to be ready for the season. If he was spiked I hope the prick who done it pisses razor blades for a week. Wonder what Moysey thinks of it all. P.C. Blobby says: "We were called this morning at 20 to three by a woman, the partner of the man, saying his drink had been spiked. An ambulance was called and he was taken to Arrowe Park hospital in the Wirral where he is being treated. As a result of an examination of CCTV footage, an investigation is underway and inquiries have been made at bars in Liverpool city centre."(07/08/06) Andy Pandy will stay on Merseyside and receive treatment on his groin strain this week, while the rest of the first team squad continue their pre-season with 2 games in USA. This setback will almost certainly rule him out of the first Premiership game against Watford. Andy was hoping to be super fit for the start of the season after a stop start stop season last season. Alan Irvine says: “We discussed the situation and we felt it was in the best interests of Andy if he stayed at home and received treatment.” (25/07/06) Andy van was kept out of the action against Preston last night, as a precaution when the Dutch winger felt some discomfort in his groin. Rumours were quickly dispelled, that this was because Heidi Range of the Sugababes was in town, and it was actually to do with the power that he puts in his passes. Coach Alan Irvine insists that Andy will not be risked before the season starts until he is 110% fit. Alan Irvine says: "Unfortunately he's had a problem in the same area that kept him out last season for quite a long time. It's not his groin, it's just he feels something when he strikes the ball. Andy strikes the ball very hard and with a great deal of power, so we're all a little bit concerned. He's feeling something enough for us just to ease off and not take any chances." (20/07/06) Andy is getting his head down and training hard down in Devon. No clotted cream scones, Cornish pasties or cider shandies for him. He wants to give the supporters something back this season, after becoming a firm favourite last season. Andy says: "I like everything about Everton. I feel free and I feel like I did when I was at Ajax. That's good for me. That was amazing! They took to me from the first game and have supported me all the time. That's what I need and it gives me something extra and I now want to give something back to them. I hope I do it this season. Of course it's hard at the beginning but that's normal. I haven't played a full season now for three year and that's difficult for me because I want to play all the time. I am looking forward to the friendly games and getting plenty of the ball." (06/07/06) Moyesy Offers Andy An Olive Branch After a lot of contradicting statements throughout the Summer about Andy Pandy's future, it looks like the manager of The People's Club has buried the hatchet with Andy. No not in his head! They've had a clear the air talk and Moyesy wants him to stay, but only if he gets himself fit and plays. Moyesy says: "I want him to stay and I want to see him get fit. I think we were all disappointed. I was upset and so was Andy. We were frustrated because we had brought him here to play and know he's got something. He has fantastic ability. He is a player who looks like he can get you a goal or create something out of nothing.
I'm No Alcoholic & I Want To Stay Andy Van der Meyde has attacked reports that he likes the social side of life a little too much for a professional footballer, and astonishingly has said he's not an alcoholic. Well that's a relief. He's also said that he now wants to stay at Everton. Shandy
Andy says: “I want to stay, I am desperate to stay. There is
nothing wrong with my thoughts about Everton. I can really focus here
and the people have made me feel that I’m needed. I love it here. Everything
suits my game. Why would I want to go back to Italy? I’m happy in England
and I want to show everyone that I can really play football. If I get
the chance next season, I will do it. I’ve spoken with the gaffer and I’ve told him that I feel as though I let him down last season. Yes, I was injured but now I want to make it up to everyone. The gaffer has been great and I just want to do what I enjoy most now and that is play football. I want to do it for Everton." (18/06/06) What a difference a couple of weeks make. Andy was only saying he wanted to stay (see below) but now he has not made the dutch squad, he's looks as though he wants to leave. With Juventus and Porto in for him. Everton have said nothing, but there were rumours about that Moyesy wasn't happy with his fitness levels. Shandy Andy Pandy says: "I am sorry to have quit Italian football and Inter. I had a real will to play. I wanted to show my value and earn a place in Van Basten's team for the World Cup. It is like I have lost a whole year, because I have played only ten matches in the Premier League due to injuries. I hope there can be a place for me. I want to start from scratch. I would certainly be attracted to play for Juventus if they get relegated. But my old coach, Adriaanse would like me to help him at Porto. I worked a lot with him at Ajax, but I really hope there could be a place for me somewhere in Italy." (09/06/06) With Galatasery looking to tempt Andy Pandy to play in the Champions league, his agent has stated that Andy wants to stay at Everton. Very noble. But Moyesy is understood to be less than happy with Andy's fitness. Having seen him not complete 90 minutes in his only 7 starts from last season, Andy needs to knuckle down in the training and stay out of the so called Merseyside hot spots. Chiel Dekker, Andy's agent says: "He's not going to Turkey, absolutely no way. We are aware of an interest from Galatasaray but Andy wants to stay at Everton and prove himself. He is looking forward to going back for pre-season training." (02/06/06) |
