17. Tim Cahill - 06/07

Take Care of Our Tim

Moyesy who has met up with Australian coach Graham Arnold is urging caution with his injury hit midfielder. He is hoping that the National Team don't risk Tiny if he is not 100% fit in the forthcoming Asia Cup, and a subtle reminder to the Australian FA, that us Scousers pay his wages. Fair shout Davey, well played.

Moyesy says: "Tim Cahill is doing well but he had a really bad metatarsal break. We have got to hope that the Australians will only play him if he is 100 per cent right as we pay his wages and need to get use from him." (19/05/07)

Sunday Run

Tim Cahill is hoping to put his broken foot through the mill this weekend as he is off for a jog. Not big news in the scheme of things, but for all Blues it is fantastic news that our Aussie midfielder is definitely on the mend. Tiny is hoping to play some part for Australia in the forthcoming Asian Cup, and we all hope that he returns to Goodison fit and well for duty come August.

Tiny says: "I don't want to get ahead of myself too much, but I'm quietly confident, I'm happy. Before I left England, there was quite a bit of a gap between the bone and the pin , but these x-rays show a massive improvement. If anything, the bone looks as though it's healed over 80 percent. So I'll start running on Sunday. I hope to do a good 20 minutes, half an hour, so I can get the feel for it, and the biggest day will be Monday, to see how I pull up. But at the moment it feels fine, I've had no pain."

I've always been fresh and positive mentally, and now I'm just looking forward to the Asian Cup. This is one of the biggest tournaments outside the World Cup, and we've got a massive chance of some silverware. Obviously, the last 12 months haven't gone completely to plan, but I still played 16-18 games for Everton, scored seven goals. I played in the World Cup and finished in the top 50 of the Ballon d'Or. That's my season, so things aren't so bad after all." (17/05/07)

Patient Toes

The slow process of gaining full fitness for next season is plodding on for Tim.

Tim says: “The injury is healing very well, the fracture was a bit more serious then other metatarsal injuries but I’m being patient and will have to wait till next season to play. I know where I am, and that is to be fit for next season, the brace will come off in a couple of weeks and then slowly will put weight onto the foot. The biggest thing for me is to be fit and raring to go for next season but resting a lot and not doing too much in the early stages of my recovery, I want to be back for pre season and ready to do the business for Everton next season!” (05/04/07)

Twinkle Toes

Having broke a toe before, Tim knows it will be a long slow process before he gets his shooting boots on again.

Tim says: "I have got to stay off it for two weeks, no weight bearing, and then I can walk with a boot on. It is early stages so the treatment is quite light. I basically just get it iced and change the dressing and make sure there is no infection. It is all about TLC and care. You only get one proper fifth metatarsal so once you break it, if you break it again you are in big trouble. I have already broken my right one about seven years ago so I know the procedures and I am going to take every precaution possible." (15/03/07)

Under The Knife

Tiny Tim went under the knife yesterday and had a screw inserted into his broken meta, metera, metara, that bleedin' bone in his foot. In a busy day in Theatre Tiny was slotted in between an ingrown toe nail patient, and a red shite fan who was crippled with chronic piles.

Everton Physio Matt Connery (Sean's Brother) says: "Tim had the op on Tuesday night to insert a screw into his foot and it went well." (08/03/07)

Tiny's Season Over

Tim Cahill's season is effectively over after he hobbled out of the action at Sheffield United this afternoon. The attacking midfielder broke that shitty bone in his foot that no one had even heard of until the other year, the dreaded fifth metatarsal. Tiny landed awkwardly minutes before the end of the first half to be replaced by Ossie, and Moyesy has conceded that it is a massive blow for the Blues.

Moyesy says: "We have suffered a massive blow in losing Tim today. He has broken a metatarsal. I have not seen it but it seems that is where he comes down and lands. I cannot really put into words how big a blow this is to us. We need Tim Cahill him in games like this and we will also need him to score the goals.

We have a decent goalscoring record this season and part of if is to do with Tim and Andy Johnson. But now we need to find those goals elsewhere in the final games of the season if we want to find ourselves in European competition next season." (03/03/07)

Calm Before The Storm

Tiny thinks that although we have no FA Cup game this weekend, it will be a blessing in disguise as some Everton players recharge their batteries ready for the final push onto a European spot.

Tim says: “Games are coming thick and fast and we need this bit of time just to train and let our bodies rest. There are a few of us with tired limbs, so that will do us good just to ease off a little bit. But everyone is starting to get fit and find momentum, including myself. I played three 90 minutes in the week before the break and I really felt the benefit of that. It’s frustrating that there is no game but I also think a few of us need a rest." (16/02/07)

No Holding Back

Tiny is one yellow card away from another rest from the first team, but he won't be changing his all action style against Wigan this weekend. Tiny was also disappointed that he was unable to find the net against Reading last week, as he would to have shown Rocky Balboa his own steps on the punch bag, sorry corner flag.

Tiny says: "I brought some boxing gloves in and stuck them on straight away and gave him a few shimmies and asked him if he wanted a piece of me! I am a bit disappointed I didn't get a goal so I could show him my celebration.

It's one more yellow card and I'm suspended but I think for my own peace of mind it was right that I went in for those challenges. I'd be cheating the lads if I didn't but I'm pleased I put myself about and did the job." (19/01/07)

Goal Threat Returns

Moyesy is glad to have Tiny back in the fold, as he reckons AJ will benefit from the fruitful partnership that put us top of the shop back in September. Its no coincidence that Everton's goals for column has plummeted whilst Tiny was out injured, and with Tim just playing off AJ, Moyesy is hoping that Everton's goal threat will return and push the Blues up the table.

Moyesy says: "We've missed Tim in so many ways. Not only his goal return but also his youthful athleticism and freshness. He missed 12 games and that’s quite a chunk of the season. Andy has certainly missed him as well. They linked up well, with Tim just behind Andy, and their partnership helped us move into the top four or five. Tim is always smiling, always has a competitive edge and his upbeat, bubbly attitude rubs off on other players.

Now Tim is back, that can only help Andy and the side. We have no distractions with being out of the Cup and we’ve 15 games left to make progress and improve our league position." (18/01/07)

Tim Had to Stay on

Moyesy admitted that Tim had to stay on the pitch against Reading even though he was tired and not yet back to full fitness.

Moyesy says: "Tim looked very tired because he carries a lot of responsibility in the team and he is nowhere near fully fit. But he is one of our goalscorers so I had to keep him on the pitch even though I could see he needed a rest.

He has been out for 11 weeks and he hasn't even played a reserve game. But it was right to bring him back because he is so important to us and he gave the whole side a lift. The main thing is he hasn't suffered a reaction to the injury and he can continue to build up his fitness in training." (14/01/07)

Back In The Squad

Tim will be back in action on Sunday against Reading as long as the training goes well this week. Lets hope we see the corner flag get a good walloping.

Moyesy says: "Tim started full training last Friday and I am hoping he will be available for the game on Sunday. A lot will depend on how he looks in training this week. But if I think he is training fine I would have no hesitation about throwing him straight in. But I will only be able to judge that in training. If he is fit and in good shape he will figure. Match fitness would be the problem, but at the moment we could do with the kind of lift the return of Tim can give us." (10/01/07)

Tim in Contention

Moyesy with a bit of luck will have Tiny Tim at his disposal for this Sunday's home game with Reading. Assistant Boss Alan Irvine likens the Aussy midfielder absence to Chelski losing John Terry and Petr Cech. I say it's worse, as Chelski have the option of bringing more Internationals to replace their other Internationals, we on the other hand don't. Come back Tim,and heal our wounds after Sundays FA Cup debacle.

Alan Irvine says: "As you can see, even at Chelsea, when key players are out, it makes a huge difference to results and performances. Tim Cahill is a very important player for us, without a doubt. Yes, someone will have to step aside and it is therefore important for the players who are under threat to make it impossible for them to be left out. Tim coming back will be a massive boost. It will almost be like Chelsea getting Terry and (Petr) Cech back.

We have other very important players as well, of course, but Tim has been out for a significant amount of time. We have missed him. Ideally you want all the players fit and you want to be able to choose the best team for that particular game. Clearly, Tim is always very much in contention for our best team. I would hope that, all being well, he will be very close to being involved against Reading next Sunday." (09/01/07)

Back To Fitness

Tiny is back in full training with the first team squad. This means the fast healing Tim is 2 weeks ahead of schedule. There are reports coming from within the Everton camp that he may return to first team duty in the FA Cup match against Blackburn next Sunday. (03/01/06)

Take Heart Boys

Tiny Tim no doubt gloating the fact that his countrymen have won the Ashes back, is telling his footballing teammates to take great heart from their splendid performance against the mercenaries last Sunday. Tim sat stunned on the side lines as he watched goal after spectacular goal find its way into the Everton net.

He has also been drawn into the controversy over AJ's supposed diving, and he is telling other mangers, especially the Special one (my arse) to have a look closer to home instead of slagging off other players, hear, hear.

Tiny says: "The game against Chelsea can make or break a season and we were unfortunate. But all the boys are buzzing. There are a few injuries but we have to make the most of it. All the games are cramped up together and we have to try and get as much out of it as we can. There are a lot of winnable games there, we just have to start with the game at the weekend.

The positive we can take from the Chelsea game is that without three wonder strikes we would have won that game 2-0. We scored two goals against a title-winning side who are doing really well in Europe too. It was like a freak show watching from the sidelines - Lampard's goal was amazing and Tim Howard could do nothing about it. Normally if Didier Drogba was forced to shoot from 40 yards out you'd be happy with it but things like that happen.

People make such a big issue about it (supposed diving) because they've got nothing else to talk about, so they make excuses for why their defence is kicking him about. He's a very quick lad and defenders can't deal with him so the only way they keep with him by holding his jersey or kicking him down.

It's a massive cop-out as for an athlete of tremendous skill people are not looking at what he does. He's an out-and-out footballer who works hard for the club. Diving is a massive thing in football and people should start looking at other clubs before they look at Everton. AJ is fantastic, his record speaks for itself. It wasn't only Everton that were in for him and a few managers are still kicking themselves for not signing him." (19/12/06)

...and Your Footballers Are Crap At Cricket

Tiny Tim's rehabilitation from his knee injury is on schedule and hopefully we will be seeing him in a Blue shirt in the not too distance future. Tiny is now jogging, and doing some bike work to build up the strength in his leg again. The Aussy midfielder has not lost his sense of humour as games of indoor cricket are taking place at Bellefield, and he is even beating like his country men the English lads at that to boot. Sounds about right, c'mon England, bring back Monty tonight.

Tiny says: "Things seem to be going fine. I'm on schedule and that's the best thing of all things are going well. I am on the bike and I'm probably going to start jogging this week so everything is feeling very good. There's plenty of banter - I don't think they can wait to get me out of the treatment room because I seem to be wrecking the joint!

But it's all about having fun and being happy in your environment. I am very happy and trying to keep the spirits up. We have had a few games of indoor cricket and the ten-yard bucket challenge in the treatment room, and I have got plenty more up my sleeve as well! The indoor cricket hasn't gone any better than the Ashes for the English lads. I think you are better then us at croquet though!" (13/12/06)

Tiny's Upbeat

Tim Cahill is staying upbeat about his injury, even though this is the second time he has been sidelined this year. The Everton midfielder is happy that is injury is not to severe, and he has set a target of playing again before the year is out. Tiny is in Bellefield every day going through his paces with the physio's to give his knee the best possible chance of fully recovering.

Tiny says: "It is not the best news to be out with an injury, but the biggest thing is that it's not a cruciate and that I am not out for six months. I'd like to think I am a quick healer. I have been fortunate enough that I have recovered from major injuries quite quickly. I am very optimistic that if I do everything right then I will pick up the rewards.

Before the World Cup I only had six weeks to get a posterior tear right. I did everything I could and I think if I do the same thing again I could, maybe, be playing at the end of December or the start of January. I am coming in three times a day - morning, afternoon and evening - to give my knee the best possible chance. The first four weeks are the most important. If I can get it healed in four weeks then I can do the hard work in the two to four weeks after that.

Physically for me it isn't a rest. It is only going to get harder for me so it is time to put myself through the paces. The physio's are fantastic. It's a bright place to be and all the lads come in for a bit of banter!" (22/11/06)

See You Next Year

It won't be till 2007 that Everton fans will see Tiny Tim in action again. After his accidental clash with team mate Harry Hill at the weekend, Basil Rathbone has today confirmed that Tiny has significant damage to his medial ligament, but they think that his cartilage is ok, in laymen's terms, he done in, but not as bad as they thought.

Moyesy is trying to remain upbeat, but he concedes that Tiny is a huge loss to his threadbare squad. It has been a fantastic year for the Aussy midfielder, when after staring in this Years World Cup, was then nominated in the Top 50, for the Ballon D'or, which is Europe's best Footballer to the man on the street. Tiny has also scored seven times this season, so roll on 2007, and lets hope the rest does him good. Enjoy the Ashes.

Basil says: "We had the scans yesterday and it confirms what we see clinically, which is that he has significant damage to his medial ligament. The ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) seems OK which was our fear. We would estimate it would be an absolute minimum of six weeks but probably going on for eight weeks for the medial ligament. We think and hope the cartilage is okay. What we will do is let it settle down for a few days then reassess.

The surgeon may decide to have a quick look inside the knee to have a look at the cartilage but we are not really sure about that. I suppose everybody knew it was a serious injury; it was clear having looked at the video tape. As it ended up it was a good end to what it could have been.

But you can damage a cruciate with very little force and I have seen a couple that have had very little swelling and very little trauma so you never really want to give the all clear until you see the scan. If the surgeon decides to have a look in the knee it wouldn't affect the timescale. But if you look inside the knee and there's a further problem then that can extend it. He has been relatively injury free over his career and you have to look at the bigger picture. He is a quick healer and if you look back at his medical history you can see he has a record of coming back from injury quickly. "

Moyesy says: "It’s a big blow for us as he has been such an influential performer. We will miss him greatly and you can't replace his goals. He is a huge part of our team, a real important member. He is good in the air, he has got drive. He has got so many all round strengths. I can't really put into words how much he will be missed for the next six to eight weeks. But it has happened now and we have just got to get on with it. What we want now is to see someone else step up to the plate and help us like Tim does.

He will do everything that he can to get back from this injury as quickly as possible, he will want to make sure that he is not out for eight weeks. He is tough and he will be pushing himself all the time. That is an asset.

I think we were all a bit concerned that it could have been worse than it actually is. The problem is with his medial ligament and there is also a little bit of damage to the cartilage. He might have a slight tear. But we are thankful that it is not his cruciate as that would have been it for the season." (14/11/06)

Hope For Cahill Injury

As Tim is a quick healer the Everton back room staff are optimistic about Tim's recover, but say it's too early to tell. Tim got the injury when Harry Hill went over the ball to him.

Basil says: "I've looked at it in slow motion on the video tape and he has obviously hyper-extended his knee. The consultant came down at half-time to have a look at him but we don't want to make a diagnosis until we have got all the facts. He's a bit sore right now so he will probably have a scan on Monday morning.

He had the same sort of injury when he went in to a tackle with Jamie Redknapp against Spurs a couple of years ago and he was okay the week after, so there is a thread of comfort there. But, as I say, I can't say too much until we've got all the scans and had a good look at it. When you wait for 24 hours or so you get a much better picture. I've seen a couple of those in the past where it has looked really bad but the actual damage has been relatively minor." (12/11/06)

One of The Best

Moyesy ranks Tim Cahill as one of the best in the Premiership, and he is delighted that the Aussy midfielder wears the Blue of Everton. Its not just the performances Tiny puts in for the team that makes Moyesy sit up and take note, but Tiny's all round attitude and commitment that warms the gaffers heart.

Moyesy says: "Tim has played much further forward this season than he has in previous seasons, but on Saturday he had to play more as a midfield player - when you come to Arsenal I think you have to expect that. But the pitch was full today of top quality, attacking midfield players - Fabregas with his passing, Rosicky with his ability to shoot and score from range and the timing of his runs, and Cahill with his all-round power play and heading ability.

I think there were top class attacking midfield players on show and Tim is on a par with them in different ways. He is one of the players we rely on heavily. You need to have intelligence to play that role. But he also has heart and drive and commitment which carries him over anything he might feel. All round he has been a very good player for Everton. He's all for it, he doesn't miss training in the main, he doesn't miss games, he's a tough boy. Sometimes we question how much players want to play. It's not a question you can label at Tim Cahill." (30/10/06)

Best Moment To Date

Tim Cahill rates it as the best moment of his career when he was nominated for that Balon D'OR. Unbelievably Tiny overlooks his Bluekipper Starman Award from 2004/05 season, but we shall let him off with his crass oversight. Typically the Aussy midfielder thanks his team mates, and family as without them he believes he would have never been nominated for the prestigious award.

Tiny says: It's the best moment of my career but that says a lot for this football club and the lads I play with. It's a massive accolade for myself, my family and also for everyone here as a whole. Without the help of the lads, I definitely wouldn't have been in it. It's a massive feat. I work so hard but to be in the running for a prize like this with the calibre of players up there is unbelievable. " (20/10/06)

Fabulous

Moyesy is chuffed with Tim being short listed for the 2006 Balon D'OR

Moyesy says: "It's a fabulous achievement. All credit to Tim for the way that he has been playing and he has returned to top form this season. He has started the season really well for us. Last season, maybe he found it a bit difficult with it being his second year in the Premiership but he has come into form and his goals are a huge bonus for us. It's a big part of his game.

His role this season has been a bit different to the one that he played in the last couple of years. I gave him some criticism earlier in the summer because he did not get his first league goal until December last season. But he has shown this time that he is someone who will give us a goal. I think back to games against Villarreal and Manchester United last year and the chances he had. Maybe if they had gone, it would have changed things for him.

He is vitally important to us. I thought his performance on Saturday was remarkable. When I met him on Friday before we played Middlesbrough, if he had said that he was a bit tired or anything that would probably have meant I wouldn't have started with him. But he told me he felt great. I waited until Saturday morning to make my mind up but again Tim told me that he felt great and had slept all the way through the night. His attitude was terrific and I'm glad I picked him." (18/10/06)

Europe's Top 50

It has took a few years but now the rest of the Europe has at last realised that Everton's midfield dynamo Tiny Tim is one of the best players in it. Tiny has been short listed for the 2006 Balon D'OR, which is a really posh way of saying, Player of the Year. Tiny find himself alongside top players like Shevchenko, Henry, Riquelme, Ronalhdinho and Miroslav Klose.

Just for the record Big Nev was the last Blue to be nominated when he came a respectable 20th to Marco Van Basten back in the 1980's. Thanks to Peter Morana a top Toffeeman and life long Blue for that nugget of info.

Tiny says: "Oh Bum nuts, Cobber " (17/10/06)

Shearer Praises Tim

Former England Captain, Alan Shearer is a big fan of Cahill's goal scoring from midfield.

Alan Shearer says: "There's a lot of Australian players in the Premier league, good players, I'm a fan of Tim Cahill, he gets in the right place at the right time, has great timing." (01/10/06)

Best In Business

Moyesy reckons Tim is the best attacking midfielder in the Premiership.

Moyesy says: "You just need to look at Tim's goals this season, he's got four now and that's a great return. He's one of the best at getting in the box. We can play him in the middle of the park, or in between the strikers and midfield, or we can play him up top. We're playing him slightly further forward than a central midfield player. He's as good as anyone in the business at getting into the box and scoring goals. He's robust and wholehearted and does a good job for us." (25/09/06)

I Love You Timmy

Moyesy is delighted that Tiny Tim is back on form after the attacking midfielder's slow start to the season. The Manager puts his poor form in early August down to his World Cup hangover, but he is now delighted the the Aussy is back to his best, giving him more scoring options for the team.

Moyesy says: "Tim has started getting a few goals which really helps us and he has started to come into a real good bit of form.

I do not think he was playing particularly badly or his performance against Watford was not good. It's just that sometimes when players come back from the World Cup, they need an extra one, two or three weeks to get back in the swing of things. That is what happens and we took the decision to rest him to sharpen him up. Don't forget, he had missed some of pre-season but it hasn't taken him that long to get back up to speed. Basically he has been playing as a second striker and his versatility is a bonus.

His goals will be giving confidence both to him and the team. He is just one of a few players who can get us goals. Tim and AJ have been doing well but I would like to see the others join in. We know Leon Osman can get us a goal or two and he was unlucky against Wigan last week." (24/09/06)

This Is For The Fans

This weeks Derby win is dedicated to the Everton fans.

Tim says: "This is for the pride of the city and the fans deserve it and so do we. We fought hard and that's what it's all about. We showed character and I am really happy for AJ especially because now he knows what it is about to be a Blue!

It is always great to get on the score sheet. The lads did great to put me in and AJ is an unbelievable striker - he is obviously going to get his goals and if he keeps doing it week-in, week-out for us we are going to get results." (12/09/06)

Bragging Rights

Its Derby week and all the talk will turn to Saturdays clash at Goodison. All the bars in Merseyside will be rammed with Everton fans asking can we do them this year, whilst over in Scandinavia all the shite fans will be asking themselves the same questions along with are Abba better than the Beatles. One player who is always up for these pressure cooker matches is Tim Cahill, and he is relishing next weekends clash.

Tiny says: "There is loads of banter between the players leading up to the game. I speak to Harry a lot, even though he won't be playing next week, and obviously John (Arne Riise) is my next door neighbour. We know how important this game is and we take it very seriously because it is not just about the game at the weekend, it is about the bragging rights after.

I know a lot of people who feel every single kick. You can't play for this club unless it is in the blood. You hear so many stories of what it means to be an Evertonian and I can tell you every single player relishes this game and is honoured to play for this football club." (03/09/06)

Chuffed

Just like us Tim is chuffed he scored but the whole squad need to contribute.

Tim says:“I am chuffed with the goal and its massive to get a point here. We all need to chip in and we’ve spoken about how everyone needs to get goals. It was a slow start for me last season but if you put yourself in the box you’ll score goals.”(24/08/06)

Provide & Score

Moyesy wants Tim to carry on scoring but to provide a few chances for his team mates.

Moyesy says: "Tim might not get quite the opportunities to get forward as he'd normally do in a different type of system. His quality is going forward and getting in there but if he's going to be one of the central midfield players, then he has to do other things as well. A lot of our success two years ago came when Tim was given the chance to get forward and be more free but if you have two up front then it's not easy for Tim to do that. I think that he will become more mature with age but what we don't want is him to lose his big attribute of getting into the box and scoring goals," (23/08/06)

Big Start

Like every Evertonians Tim wants to get off to a good start. He is adamant that will happen.

Tiny says: "It's a big season for everyone. We had a big start the season before last then last season we struggled a bit. But I think we have got to take a lot of credit out of what we did last season. We were in one of the worst positions ever.

"But we got together and made one of the best runs possible to keep us up there. We probably could have had a shot at Europe again. It's a big season and for myself, I just want to get off to a good start and play well for the team."(05/08/06)

Watford One, Kuwait Nil

It now looks that Tiny Tim will not have to make the ridiculous trek to Australia three days before the season starts, as the Aussy's face Kuwait, as they have now moved into the Asian Football Confederation. Tiny Tim who was one of the undoubted stars of the Socceroo's World Cup campaign can now settle down and think about the Blues opener against Watford on the 19th August. Is Elton and David attending do we know. I guess that why they call us the Blues, Sorry could not resist it, 1984 and all that, hope Sherwood is in the sticks again. Get in there. (03/08/06)

Back To Win A Place

Tim is very confident with the new additions to the squad that Everton can do well this season. He has kept himself fit by playing a couple of games during the World Cup. He also appreciated the support from the Evertonians over in Germany.

Tim says: " I was walking around the pitch and I saw a group of Evertonians. One of them asked me to swap shirts with him and I said ‘for sure' because although the shirt meant a lot to me because it was the first time Australia had been through the group stage, a lot of people pay a lot of money to travel around the world and watch us play so I just thought it would be a nice gesture.

We've signed some great players and it shows that we are being ambitious. We want to mix it with the best and nobody is guaranteed a place in the team, including myself. But we all play for each other and not just for ourselves.

I’ve had a great summer but there’s nothing getting back amongst the lads and enjoying my football. I didn't have a chance to stop other than a couple of weeks break. It's always better to come back and test yourself in the thick of things straight away because as a footballer you need to be at your peak at this level." (26/07/06)

Forward Thinking

Moyesy who was impressed with Tiny Tim's World Cup antics, may deploy the Aussy midfielder as a forward for a time this season. Tiny who likes to get himself in the thick of it will definitely start in midfield, but as the season takes its toil, Moyesy will remember back to Germany 2006, when Tiny Tim took the World Cup by the scruff of the neck.

Moyesy says: "Tim certainly enhanced his reputation. He did exactly what we'd expect from Tim Cahill. He was always close to the action, close to getting himself a goal and that's what he does very well as a midfield player.

To have a goalscoring midfield player is something terrific and not something you can get very often. But he played in some advanced roles for Australia and that gives us food for thought for next season, too." (13/07/06)

World Cup Star Given Extra Time Off

While the first team squad is reporting for pre-season training on Monday, Everton's World Cup star will be having a well earned rest with his family. Moyesy has given him extra time off because of his exploits in Germany. See here. (28/06/06)
