Anderson de Silva has decided to end his stay at Barnsley. He wants to make a go of it at Everton Manager Simon Davey says "He feels that he is now ready to fight his way into the Everton side.It is disappointing but we have got to respect the decision. We haven't ruled out the possibility of him coming back, it depends how things go for him over the next two or three weeks at Everton. He has certainly played an integral part in our success so far this season."(26/10/07) Anderson de Silva is to stay on with Barnsley for at least another month, after Tykes Manager Simon Davey asked Moyesy for the Brazilian's services. Moyesy was more than happy to help out, but lets hope one day we see the best of the Brazilian in the Royal Blue of Everton. Simon Davey says: "We are delighted he's staying for another month and you only have to look at our last few results to see how well we have done with him in the team. We want to have a settled side and we would have been very disappointed to lose him. I have spoken with Everton and David Moyes is happy for him to stay with us for another month." (25/09/07) Oh the life of a professional footballer. One minute your playing against the likes of Beckham, Ronaldhino and co., in the Primera Liga, the next you are off to Yorkshire on loan. Anderson de Silva who has yet to appear for the Blues this season has been loaned to Championship side Barnsley till late September, but Coach Alan Irvine is adamant that the Brazilian still has a future with the Blues still. Alan Irvine says: "Anderson needs some match practice and experience and he's not getting that chance here just at the moment. It's a good chance for him to play some regular football and, of course, it gives us a chance to watch him as we do all our loan players. The door certainly isn't closed for Anderson and we look forward to having him back here at Goodison at the end of next month." (23/08/07) Joey Yobo thinks Everton will see the best of Anderson this season. Joe says: "Anderson is proving he is a good player and the goal against Bremen will give him confidence. It was tough when he came here last season but now he is more integrated in the squad. He is showing he is a tough player." (05/08/07) Scoring a goal against Werder Bremen on Tuesday has put a smile on Anderson's face, but having played in most of the pre-season games, he wants to push on and play more first team games. Anderson says: "I am happy with the goal but I still have to work a lot and I am going to work very hard to try and stay here and help Everton. The pre-season has been very good. It's very important for every player. For me the the main thing is having a good pre-season and afterwards we will see. It was good to meet the people and get used to the players and the atmosphere around the club. It would have been better if I could have played before that but I am happy now." (02/08/07) One More Year Anderson de Silva has signed for the Blues with a one year extension. The 24 yr old Brazilian midfielder returned to Goodison from Spain back in January after his loan spell, but found his chances have been few and far between. Maybe with the Blues starting the season fighting on four fronts, the Brazilian talents might grace Goodison Park yet.His number 25 shirt will just have the word "ANDERSON" on it. (03/07/07) |
