32. Dan Gosling

Ready For First Team Squad

Moyesy says: “Dan has been injured for the last few weeks and had a slight tear in his cartilage. We have rested him for four weeks now and we are hoping that he will be okay, but if he hadn’t been injured, he would have been close to being in the squad by now.

If I had to put him in the side, I would. At the moment, we are quite short, so he could find himself very close to the squad. Jack Rodwell has been involved already he came on as a substitute at Sunderland and was on the bench against Chelsea and Dan would have been, too, had he been fit. We think that he has got good potential. We brought him here in January and he seems to be settling in fine. It’s just a shame that he’s had that injury.” (18/04/08)

Settling In

Dan seems to be settling in really well and has been welcomed by everybody

Dan says: “I am just getting used to this type of football. It is different to what I have been used to,” said Gosling. Overall I am pleased – it is building up, so in the next coming weeks I will get better.”

Overall all the lads have helped me so far. Finch Farm is a great place to be and the manager and all the first team lads have welcomed me, so everything is good at the minute.” (16/02/08)

Ain't Everton Brilliant

Dan is like the cat who's got the cream. He's chuffed about signing for Everton.

Dan says: "It’s brilliant at Everton, everything about it is so much different from Plymouth, no disrespect to that club but it's all new here - it is just fantastic. I think I’ve changed from how I used to be, I used to be an attacking midfielder, getting into the box. I played defensive midfielder for England and I’ve also started playing right back more recently - just bombing on round the winger and getting crosses in the box really." (14/01/08)

Gosling Signs In

Everton have agreed a £1m transfer fee for Dan. It could rise to £2m depending on the number of appearances. Moyesy has said he will not consider playing the right sided player this season, who has scored twice in twenty odd appearances for Plymouth. In a long winded statement Moyesy explains why.

Moyesy says: "He’s one for the future." (03/01/08)
