No Pushing Jack

Softly softly is the approach Moyesy will take with youngster Jack Rodwell.

Moyesy says: "He has done similar to Wayne Rooney, James Vaughan and Victor Anichebe, he is young and we have been short so that has helped him get a foothold. He certainly hasn't looked out of place in training, he has got a lot of potential but we won't be pushing him. It's more than likely he will join up with England for the under 17 tournament in Israel after the weekend. If we (at Everton) think you are good enough we will try and push you towards the team and Jack has done that." (24/03/08) Full interview on evertontv

Well Played Jack

What a brilliant few weeks for Jack Rodwell. First he makes his Premiership debut when he came on for the Blues in our away win at Sunderland, then he turns seventeen, and the icing on the cake was putting pen to paper on a two year deal with Everton. You lucky sod Jack, grab it and the best of luck. When I was seventeen I had to make the lads tea, go for the butties at dinner time, was greased from head to toe and generally abused. Then again thinking back, I was the lucky one !!

Jack says: "I'm really pleased to get it signed, I have just been waiting for my 17th birthday. It was a really good week, making my debut then signing the contract - and there was my birthday as well! It's been good being around the first team recently, they are all top quality players and it's great to be involved. I just want to stay around (the first team) as much as I can and play if I am needed. Then hopefully I'll have a good pre-season and go from there next season." (17/03/08)

England Calling

Jack is in line to make his first full appearance in the Algarve Tournie for England U17's against France this Sunday. He came on as a second half sub in the 3-0 win over Denmark on Saturday. Hopefully he will impress and get in the squad for next month's European Qualifiers in Israel.(04/02/08)

Debut

The Everton youngster made his first team debut against AZ Alkmaar and looked comfortable with the step up. He came on for Tommy Gravesen for the last 10 minutes. Well played Jack! (21/12/07)
