10. Thomas Gravesen

Mad Dog Fit

Tommy will be back in the squad for the FA Cup game against Oldham after recovering from a knee injury. Whether he will be waving his fists at anyone or getting splinters on the bench is down to Moyesy.

Physio Mick 'Basil' says: "The treatment room is okay. We have a couple of knocks but we are doing okay so we are pleased. Having two games a week does make the lads battle-hardened. They want to keep going and it does sort of produce that tough, Dunkirk spirit where the players want to keep going. Everybody is buzzing at the moment. Tommy got a knock in the build-up to the second goal against Bolton. It flared up his knee a little bit but it is okay now." (03/01/08)

Tommy's As Scouse As They Come

Its International week, so news is scarce on the ground, but a startling revelation has leaked out of Goodison Park, and it is that The Grav speaks Scouse. Thankfully as yet he has not been found wearing tracksuits all the time, and as yet rumours are unfounded he is growing his hair long (exactly). The Jag is using this little funny to show how all the players including the new ones like himself have embraced life on Merseyside. You want real life Phil, see you in the Lennon Bar Saturday night, bring some till with you, were getting hammered.

The Jag says: "If anything he’s carried on with the way he is. He’s fantastic, and crazy is probably the nicest word I can use to describe him, but he’s a fantastic footballer first and foremost and he’s proving that on the training field. It’s always difficult when you have foreign players to make them all gel, but everyone here talks with a little bit of a scouse accent, like Tommy, and the other foreigners." (19/11/07)

Potential

It's great to have Tommy back on the pitch with his mad eyes and his swagger. He's happy to be back playing with a squad full of potential

Tommy says:"I thought the fans were fantastic, they always are. I didn't expect anything less from these fans.

When you look on paper at this squad there is so much potential.

We just need a little more time to gel, I know there isn't much time with so many games coming, but with more games together there are some fantastic players all around. We have international players like Andy and Joleon and maybe Bainesy in the future which shows the steps we have taken in the last couple of years. It is very good." (27/10/07)

Calm Tommy

Tommy came on for his debut as a second half sub at Bolton and made an imidiate impact. Besides getting booked he helped get the winner.

Moyesy says: "For the first time I knew there were people behind me I could bring on and change the game from the bench. We haven't had that at Everton an awful lot, but today I was able to look around and see if we could alter the game slightly. We had forwards and midfielders on the bench, people who could create teams, and in the end Thomas came on and he was a calming influence. He was the big difference. He brought a calmness to us and made us play better. He's lacking a bit of fitness, but he made some killer passes that helped us win the game." (02/09/07)

Moyesy Delighted

Moyesy is delighted to have Tommy back at Goodison, but he has emphasised to the player that things have moved on at Goodison, and the Danish International is now a squad player instead of an automatic first choice. Still he is not a bad player to bring off from the bench. One thought though, AJ, Joey Yobo, Yakuba, Harry Hill and now Tommy, we must have the hairiest players in history, narf, narf,

Moyesy says: "We have got Tommy back in, he will be a part of the squad and he knows the situation. We needed someone of his type, he is a good player. Things have changed since he was last here but he was happy to come back and we are delighted to have him.

I think Tommy has always had a good relationship with everyone here and even when he was at Real Madrid and Celtic, he kept in touch with a lot of people, so when we went in for him it was easy to say ‘yes’. There were other clubs in the Premier League who wanted him but he only wanted to come back here. We have got a good side and he will be an important member of the squad. Hopefully he will make a good contribution. We’ll have to wait and see how he is in training before we make a decision but he hasn’t been injured and if he does okay, then there is a chance he will be in the squad for the game against Bolton. Nothing has been decided yet." (31/08/07)

Oh Tommy Tommy...

Fuck me. Tommy's back. We heard the rumour, but never thought it would happen. He's here on a year's loan. The thing is. He's a good player. It's going to be great just to see him take a corner waving the first at the crowd. That's if he can get the ball off Mikel.

Tommy says: "I have always said I would never want to come back to any other club in England other than Everton - I am an Everton player. In my five years here we improved all the way and we ended on a high and that is what I want to achieve again. This is a great feeling. I have been privileged to wear this shirt before but over the last few years Everton has improved a lot. Some fantastic players have come into the squad now and I am definitely pleased to be here, that is for sure. It is always difficult to come back to a place but I hope it goes well. I will definitely do my part and for me, it is very important for me to prove after being given another chance in the blue shirt." (30/08/07)
